I was taken away for a surprise 1st anniversary weekend to Tanagra Wines guest cottage....and boy, he did good! I loved this place. We stayed in hill cottage which is perfect for couples wanting isolation and a bit of rustic romantic flare. The cottage it super cute and has a gorgeous bed with draped mosquito net all round making it...

What a find ! we stayed in Faraway and unfortunately just for 2 nights. Can't find anything to critise, we loved the comfy beds, the great showers and the beautiful views. Its a real retreat to get away from it all. We will definitely come back. The owners are a lovely friendly couple, they gave us a warm welcome and...

We just recently spent a weekend at Tanagra, and what an amazing place it is! Everything contributed to this wonderful weekend. Tanaga is located just outside McGregor, a small town in the Western Cape. It is the perfect getaway! The owners are exremely hospitable and not at all overbearing. We stayed in Hill cottage which has an amazing view of...

Just like the first time we stayed in Faraway Cottage, in January this year, our late spring stay started with torrential rain plus thunder and lightning. There's something very elemental experiencing everything nature can throw at you when one's staying somewhere so remote. Faraway still excels in its architectural design and we fully support the eco credentials. However, it would...

Hill Cottage welcomed us with an amazing vista and an amazing wine. ' Heavenly Chaos' (the wine) proved to be the only chaos in a couple of days that offered balm to the one particularly tired soul. Close enough to partake in what Robertson and McGregor has to offer; the location on the opposite side of the road to the...

I was lucky enough to be able to book one of the Garden Cottages that had become available this weekend for my hubby and I and I must say, I was quite excited to try out this spot. It had come highly recommended and I can definitely see why... The cottages allow you to have privacy while feeling the homely...

Faraway cottage is absolutely gorgeous! Set out amongst the hills with just the birds and the animals. Anette and Robert provide guides and maps for hikes and cycling routes, great recommendations for restaurants (tried Karoux and Mo & Rose) in the area and a fun selection of boardgames for the days you want to spend at the cottage - and...

We stayed for 2 nights at Tanagra in one of the garden cottages. We loved the tasteful decoration and attention to detail. The private enclosed braai area led onto the pool and garden and although we could hear the traffic from the road it was very tranquil. A problem with the geyser meant we had to wait quite a while...

I wish that this secret was mine to keep forever....What a wonderful place. Well run, value for money and generally an amazing place to vanish for a tranquil holiday! The cottages are always clean and tidy, the facilities are fantastic, the wine is very good, and the location....is just spectacular.

“If you need anything, just ask! Our king size bed had a net, but recommend bringing mosquito spray. A torch or night light is also a good idea as it is very dark at night. Limited cooking facilities. We stayed in the Garden cottage.”
