Recently back from a stay at Beruwala where I was able to enjoy the multi dive package at Ypsylon dive school. Staff were really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The school was well organised and I was really well looked after. The dive guides always found the best stops with plenty of fish life. I would really recommend using this school... More

Not only is the price right, but so is the proximity to the ocean. Why pay double and more at the nearby larger resorts that are farther from the sea? The employees are helpful and guided tours to area attractions are available.

We travelled all around Sri Lanka and this hotel was by far the best of the lot (at the same cost as all the others). The beach is pristine (unlike many other Sri Lankan beaches)and the rooms modern & clean. My only slight gripe is that there are not quite enough sun loungers to go round and, this hotel having... A lovely two night stay after a busy time travelling. The beach and views are just gorgeous. Food, rooms and restaurant all of fine standard. For the price its just perfect for a beach stay and especially as Bentota is an expensive more luxurious resort. The Spa massage was nice. Pool slightly dirty but who needs it with that warm... I recently stayed here to do my Advanced Open Water Course and while the accommodation was quite comfortable (I was up in the apartments above the owner's home, not beachside), the food was very nice and the service was decent, I was a little disappointed with the dive course. I did not really have the choice of the optional dives... More

The Hotel Infra is really Awsome and worth staying overnight here. Rooms are sea facing. They have a restaurant on the beach which is a plus. Also the beach is very nice and you can spend some good time with family. Waves are cool. Another add on, the resort inhouses a Diving School, if you are fond of diving or... More

We stayed at Ypsylon for just over 2 weeks in Dec 2013 and had a nice time. The hotel location is hard to beat - right on the beach. The swimming right in front of the hotel was great the entire time we were there. That section of the beach is smallish so the sun beds are up on the... More

Location right on the beach, we couldn't expect better for our first night in Sri Lanka. Room ok, not fantastic. Baby cot was provided free of charge. Breakfast average compared to what we got later during our trip. Sri Lankan people are extremely friendly, but we found that at Ypsylon service was average, people were a bit cold.

My husband and I spent three days at this lovely small, intimate resort and couldn't fault anything. We had booked an air conditioned room but on arrival was advised that it wasn't available that night but would be the following day. Instead they gave us a magnificent room overlooking the beach, with ceiling fan and just so tastefully decorated, with... More

BACKGROUND & RECOMMENDATION: As we had decided to travel along the west and south coast, Beruwala seemed like a good stop-over on our way south. We stayed at Ypsylon for 2 nights. Ypsylon calls itself resort, which is probably half-true, but keep in mind that it's a 2-star place that might remind you more of a guest house. Do stay... More
