Firstly. This is an average, nice friendly small boutique hotel 50 rooms, so not overcrowded, nicely quiet the location is a good 30 minutes walk from Trogir…. Not near Trogir And a good 35 Kilometres to Split. ( 1 hour 20 minutes on the bus) Buses infrequent. Staff are friendly a bit hit and miss. We arrived at 10.30pm but the bar was closed?!?! Really ?!?!?! in a tourist resort in the middle of summer?!?!. But if you are expecting service the same as the UK then think again. You are very remote, no handy shops or Supermarkets near by. Everything is on a very steep incline and a good 20 minute walk. My main grip is that there is an enormous construction site right in front of the hotel( unsightly and noisy). Added to which this hotel is on a cliff face so anyone with mobility issues don’t come. It is on a severe incline. A good 25 plus steps with no hand rail… nightmare. The gym ( for my son) very limited. There was no one in the rooftop bar of a night… bizarre… certainly poor on the hotel’s part. They would make a lot of money if they had good knowledgeable cocktail bar staff. Food , truthfully not 4 star. For UK standards possibly a 3. The walk into Trogir is a very busy main road, very uneven. and unfinished pavements. The whole area looks a bit like an unfinished building site. The hotel rooms are enormous but badly thought out. The Bed mattresses, a bit hard and very high up. For us small people you have to pole vault onto the bed. You have an opaque glassdoored loo and shower … right in your room. These should be compartmentalised and not in the middle of your room. Make sure you are very much acquainted with you roommate.! You can see the person showering and hear the activities of the loo… personally not for me. Bizarrely we had an enormous bath plonked in the middle of the room which then meant the balcony was minute , dark, unusable and non existent. Who takes a hot bath in a hot tourist resort?!?! Completely unnecessary. The whole feel for this place is a bit adhoc, remote unfinished and isolated. If you are Mo Fara marathon runner who doesn’t mind running up and down a very steep incline, and lots of stairs then this place is for you. But if you are used to 4 star UK luxury think again. Breakfast choices limited… OK for 3 star BUT not 4 . Be careful you will spend a lot on taxis and they rip you off… 100 Kuna ( on the taxi meter 60 ( but hey I have no change) for a trip to Trogir averaging about £12 each way.I would have walked except for the number of stairs and sheer incline up to the hotel.

Firstly the positives - a nice modern hotel. Lovely pool with fantastic view. Large comfortable bedroom also with a fantastic view. Everywhere very clean. Nice staff. On the flip side- the negatives - the location is not ideal as quite a way out of Trogir. The taxi boat only runs every hour and one morning we had to wait another 20 minutes for a back up boat as the first one was full. We had half board which was buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. These were both disappointing, boring and very mediocre. Water machine on at breakfast but turned off in the evening presumably so you would have to buy a bottle. No coffee after dinner either. Drinks expensive and the pool bar was only manned intermittently. Also no lunch menu - apparently you could ask for food but there was nothing to indicate this and also nobody on the pool bar to ask anyway. Also even when the pool bar was staffed there was no coffee machine! One day I walked down to a beach bar purely to get a drink! The hotel is missing out massively! There seems to be a shortage of staff or maybe they just aren't utilised effectively. One night, after I had gone to bed, a member of the bar staff knocked on my door for me to sign for a drink I had had that evening- could this not have waited until the morning? I loved Croatia- Trogir is gorgeous and will go back but wouldn't stay in this hotel. It just qll seemed very half hearted and isn't a hotel for holidaymakers.

Hotel Ola is in a beautiful location and has amazing views over the bay at Trogir. The rooms are large and well appointed with a rather strange shower and toilet layout but lots of hanging space, safe, hairdryer etc means all amenities are there. The bed is super comfy and the roof top pool is amazing with views to die for. Breakfast is reasonably good with fruit, yoghurts, meat, cheese, pastries and you can ask for cooked eggs I would have wanted perhaps a little more variety in the fruit and some honey, nuts, seeds and other fresh bread would have made it better. It’s a lovely hotel but the problems I found were the following:- 1. You are given one key card which means you can’t leave the air con on and as it was 33 + when we were there it was very difficult to keep the room cool 2. There is no snack lunch menu which Mr H and I found very strange - when we asked for lunch we had to wait until 2 pm and go to the main restaurant.. when we went the staff seemed very surprised that we were there and although at first reluctant to seat us were then very accommodating 3. To get to Trogir itself there is a water taxi not far from the hotel - not the easiest to find and we had to ask… we were given no information as to this service and had to find it ourselves, in fact we were given very little info about the area 4. We asked for a late check out and were told it would cost half the room rate which we thought was a bit cheeky especially when the hotel was half empty! However they have a lovely spa area which you can use instead, however if the hotel is full I would think that this could prove unmanageable as there are only a few showers to use 5. The hotel was half empty which meant it was a little lifeless and we never found out if there was an evening bar although there didn’t appear to be which we again found quite strange - converting the rooftop pool area to an evening bar from 7pm - midnight would be a no brainer for me especially with those views! So overall don’t pass up on this hotel the views and pool alone are worth it and if they take into account anything I’ve said and implement these it could be a real winner!!

We loved our stay at the Hotel Ola & the view is breathtaking. We booked a comfort room & it was beautiful (yes the toilet in the room is unusual) There isnt a kettle, but one was supplied within an hour of us asking. The hotel was spotlessly clean & the staff were both friendly and incredibly helpful. There are 2 pools & though they were a little chilly they were still enjoyable. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the airport & is on the main road so easy to find, but don't worry it's surprisingly very quiet. You can walk to Trogir in about half an hour though be aware the pavements aren't great. Plenty of taxis to catch a ride back & a bus stop not far from the hotel too. We would definitely go back.

Firstly to say that this review is based on our low season visit in late April /early May, so much will change. We decided to hire a car to explore Croatia, but the satnav took us (and 2 Bentley owners!) down a narrow private drive at the back of the hotel with no access. So we had to drive a further 4 miles to the hotel's road, where there are no signs at all to indicate the hotel name. Apparently this is the council's fault for not allowing any signs to be displayed, which was a common theme throughout the week. For the price we paid the hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were all lovely, particularly Mladan the bar manager, and the lovely ladies at breakfast. Rooms were excellent, despite the much-mentioned bathroom set up, and spectacular views only spoiled by incessant building work which will be finished by high season. Spa was great, especially if the weather turned, and rooftop pool lovely but cold. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and we chose to pay for the half board buffet menu @€25 pp twice during the week. As hotel food goes this was very nice, and the head chef was very enthusiastic about the his menu. Seget Donji was very quiet, and most restaurants not open in April. You can walk to the stunning Trogir, but at the time of our visit the roads and pavements were ALL dug up, making the walk very unpleasant. One must-do trip is KRKA national park which was amazing, and I will do a separate review for that along with restaurants Buta, Frankies and Yacht Club. Overall a generous 5 stars from us as most of the above criticisms are not the hotel's fault, and the staff make it a most pleasurable experience. Maybe a lower score if we paid the full price of €200 pn.

Yes, we truly did love our stay here at this hotel, our first time visiting Croatia and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay, from the minute we walked in and were greeted to opening our room door and seeing the viewing we both said WOW! All rooms give you a stunning view cause the hotel is built into a rock, the staff is all very friendly easy to talk to and breakfast and meals are also very good and of a high standard, most definitely coming back to Croatia for another visit when it's only 2hours 25mins flight.

The hotel's photos are somewhat misleading as the hotel isn't directly by the sea but sandwiched between two roads. We stayed in April and the rooftop pool was empty and rooftop bar closed which was disappointing. They were building next door also with a large crane blocking the sea view and a lot of noise during the day. The Australian lady on reception was lovely , as were the breakfast staff, especially the breakfast chef.

The views from this hotel are some of the best ever! Location was a bit too far from Split, taxi or car definitely needed, but the views made it worth it, especially from the roof terrace with the pool. 30 minute walk to Trogir which is such a beautiful town, definitely reccommend a visit. Staff were lovely and even gave us a kettle for our room when we asked for it. Spa is great, overall a great stay with breathtaking views

Nice room with beautiful sea view from the balcony, All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We arrived in the morning, no problem to check in. The 5 island boat tour was great. They also had a nice surprise for my husband's birthday. We were grateful and really enjoyed our time there, many thanks.
