Long been trying to get to the Azores then last year found you can fly from Stanstead with Ryan Air. Also found the most fantastic hotel the Furnas Boutique hotel nestled in the bottom of an extinct volcanic crater. The setting is magic the rooms are unusual and great the restaurant and food and both a wonderful experience and the spa and pools which have naturally heated so warm water are an added pleasure. You’ve guessed it we will be going back when able to travel again, late Spring early Summer
We stayed at Furnas Bouique Hotel for 4 nights. its a beautiful hotel with gorgeous ground. We loved the different levels of pools. Very impressed. The rooms where clean and trendy. Breakfast was great each morning. We also dined for some snacks and had dinner one night. The food was very good and the staff was super friendly. We also enjoyed a day at the spa which was super relaxing and professional. We would stay again when we are back in town. Thank you!
I have to say that out of the many, many hotels we have stayed at over the years, this one rates as one of the best. From the moment we arrived we felt this sense of calm. The lady at the front desk welcomed us like it was her own home. The amenities in the room were the best we’ve ever had. I’m not saying others may have experienced better but for us they were amazing. Bath robes, slippers, Marshall blue tooth speaker, coffee pod maker, SMEG kettle and special glass bottled water. The most impressive was attention to the ECO world. No small throw away shampoo/conditioner bottles, they used only glass or washable glasses and paper bags in the garbage bins instead of plastic. The lobby always had 2 kinds of flavoured water and the pool area had nice cold water. The breakfast had several healthy options from local cheese and bread, (gluten free if you ask), local yogurt, chia, pumpkin, sunflower seeds and gogi berries. Can’t forget the egg choices (custom made if you choose), fruit, other cereals, bacon etc. We were able to check in early and were given the option to purchase the breakfast for 15 Euros. We didn’t, but after seeing the breakfast the next day we wish we had. One of our regrets is not trying the restaurant for dinner - next time. The thermal pools are so relaxing sitting at 40 Celsius along with dry and wet saunas. Our only regret is we didn’t stay more than 3 nights but....we will be back! I also want to say the breakfast staff were wonderful!!!…
I have travelled considerably and must say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were helpful yet unobtrusive. The room was spotless and had additional items such as the Nespresso machine, fridge and complimentary soft drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed the thermal pools and spa facilities. I had visited local restaurants on my stay on the island and had made efforts to try the local foods and cheeses. I needn't have bothered the breakfast buffet at the hotel had the local pineapple and quality local cheeses, breads and jams included. May I also point out that although I had the impression when booking that this hotel may be isolated it actually sits just at the edge of the town with views over manicured gardens. All in all excellent.
Will definitely go back! Enjoyed the pools on the resort, the spa as well as the town. Friendly safe and beautiful hiking weather. Be prepared for sun and or rain but still gorgeous. Food at the restaurant was top notch and staff is friendly:)
"We stayed on the first floor. Location looked out into the front of hotel and lush green grounds."Read full review
