Absolutely loved this place! Beautiful beach location, with very beautiful surroundings, locals were super friendly & inviting too. Evening entertainment was questionable, but we weren't there for that. A perfect place to chill! Rooms spacious, with all you need. Plenty of room around the pools. Staff worked hard to ensure tables were cleared in the dining room & food restocked quickly. Very enjoyable holiday! My first visit to Zante & I will surely be back!
Hello To Everyone Im The Lifeguard at The Waterpark Alykana Village i Want To thank All The People Who Write Wonderful Words About Me... I Wish Happy New Year And Healthy To All You And Hope See You All This summer
This hotel is idealy suited to families with young children. The location is just a few paces from a long, narrow sandy beach with crystal clear warm water which is still only one metre deep fifty metres out into the bay. Absolutely ideal for young children and adults alike. There are several large pools on the complex including one adjacent to the beach with great views of the bay and Kefalonia on the horizon. There is also a life guard attended children's splash pool with slides and other water features. Rooms are adequately comfortable with TV, fridge, balcony etc although a trip to the reception and bar area may be needed to get a wifi signal. Food is buffet style and is fairly repetitive and predictable although perfectly acceptible and wholesome. The only slight irritation in the restaurant was the weird choice of background music which sounded like a cross between the X Files theme tune and the sound track from an Alien movie! There is entertainment on site most evenings and daily kids' clubs depending on your tour operator. The local village is just two minutes walk away with many restaurants and souvenir shops and the hotel has its own mini-mart too. In the evenings why not take a trip in a horse drawn carriage around the local area from directly outside the hotel. Don't be surprised if you meet a herd of sheep or goats wandering around the streets, after all, this is an island that didn't have mains electricity until 50 years ago. It is not surprising, therefore, that the hotel and surrounding area remind me of holidays in Spain 30 or 40 years ago but, having said that, there is a definite quaint, peaceful and idyllic feel to this place which is definitely a very large plus.…
Definitely a family resort. Three pools all full of families enjoying themselves loudly. If you are looking for a quiet holiday this is not for you. The place for a shaded area drink is the snack bar but don't expect quiet - the bar staff treat this area as their private disco - and loud beat music all day. The rooms are ok but the bathrooms are tiny. Bigger than a size 14 and you will have trouble getting in and out of the shower. The food is bland and there is no variety and is never hot. If you enjoy wine bring your own. The local brew is terrible. The staff could do with some training and a shake up - service is not good.
Does make me wonder why people go abroad and moan about foreign food. Two weeks at the alykanas Village with my partner, daughter, her husband and son, aged 4. Easy check in and lovely clean rooms, cleaned daily and fresh towels. Free safe in the room. Cleaner friendly and pleasant. Room over looked the Clean pool with the sea 50 metres away. Blue skies warm sea clean sand. Mini market had what was needed on all inclusive and more - female was friendly and helpful “efgaristow” (phonetically spelt 😂). Food was good choice breakfast with 3 cereals, salads, yoghurt, cooked breakfast (ok not British bacon and sausage but we weren’t in UK). Omelettes were lovely. Cold meats cheese and fresh fruit with often pancakes too. Lunch 3 salad choices, 2/3 types of meat veg and sweets. Fresh fruit and cheese. Ok only a choice of 3/4 cheese and was repetitive but swop it around yourself - not hard. Dinner always had soup, 5/6 salads, 5/6 choice of main, many veg, cheese, 4/5 sweets and always ice creams and jelly. We didn’t avail ourselves of the kids club so can’t comment. My husband was ill so we also didn’t do the entertainment so can’t comment. Tui rep, Alan, seemed helpful and helped arrange a doctor when it was needed. But Alan seemed to mess up our ‘round the Island’ trip although he insinuated it was the excursion office that messed up. He didn’t tell us what went wrong nor did he apologise. It ended well though as we asked for our money back and it was refunded and we booked with the trip folk just outside the village gates and had a super trip for 2/3 the price. Saw 2 turtles swimming and it topped off a lovely day on “golden dolphin whose staff were superbly helpful with our 4yr old on the boat”. Doctor for the Village was FANTASTIC and even accompanied us to the hospital when further investigations were needed. (€354 for 3 GP home visits and medications - so go insured although E111 covered the hospital costs [ well until this ridiculous Brexit rubbish ]. Negatives: Big problem was the €1 case scales by reception. 5 of us were allowed 75kg and the scales stated 75.5kg so all good. Airport scales 92kg and £225 excess baggage to pay 😱. Needless to say we ‘lost’ 17kg. Inclusive alcoholic drinks were weak so solved by doubles each time. Mosquitoes at dusk stopped us sitting on the balcony. Great holiday and I’d go back!! …
