We had a lovely ten days in Filippa's house in Douliana. The house has been beautifully restored with a lot of love and is very comfortable, with great views from the balcony upstairs and a pretty courtyard to sit in downstairs. Filippa and his daughter Myrto made us very welcome and there was lots of information in the house, along...

Road to reach paradise is a bit hard but worthwhile. Very nice owners. Very warm welcome. Great fresh food. Absolute quietness. Don't miss it. you could regret it ! Propriétaires très sympathiques et aux petits soins. Calme absolu.Un conseil : rentrez les coordonnées GPS latitude longitude pour trouver ce lieu éloigné du village.

We rented the Villa Iro in a village on the outskirts of Vamos. Having spent the week before being very disappointed by a villa we had rented independently, we were amazed at the contrast! To start with, the friendly staff at the Tourist Office in Vamos. went out of their way to be helpful. They made it easy to find...

We really enjoyed our stay in Vamos - the house was comfortable, the view was fantastic, people were very friendly! We loved to have breakfast in one of the kafenios at Vamos centre, which was only 2 minutes to walk from our house.

Found the Vamos Village online and wasn't disappointed. The tourist office isn't the easiest to find. Beware some of the village narrow streets are cobblestone on an incline. But the cottage was very nice and cozy, village can be hard to find off the E75 even with a Garmin gps and website directions. But worth checking it out, while there...

The house was very comfortable and felt like home, views of the mountains from the terrace made having breakfast delightful. We were very pleased with this accommodation and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The ladies at the information centre were most friendly and helpful in all matters. We will definitely return.

We stayed in Manolis Villa in Douliana. Villa itself was well equipped and comfortable, lovely garden and swimming pool, which we had to ourselves for the first week and a half. Mr Manolis was a wonderful host and kept us supplied with fresh vegetables from his garden. Booked the villa through Vamos Traditional Village, whose staff made us really welcome...

We arrived on the bus and were worried that we wouldn't be able to get around the area without a car, however the staff helped us to organise activities and looked up bus times so that in the end we were kept very busy. We managed to walk a gorge, visit a beach, take a guided walk and a cooking class....

We made a trekking tour on Crete. Our first stop was Vamos. A nice village in the mountains. We was surprised about the village, and the complete rebuilded guest house with all comfort. Friendly people of course and a traditional taverne near the house. It was a very beautiful start on Crete.

We stayed for 2 weeks at Villa Rodi in Douliana, a small town just a few kilometers outside Vamos. We were there for Greek Easter and were welcomed openly by the locals for church services and other festivities. Our landlady, who lives next door, does not speak English. Our Greek is rudimentary, at best, but we were able to communicate....
