I call this a high end prison cell maybe suitable for you know who ex-PM. I'm pretty used to hostel environment and budget hotel but this takes the cake. Be warned, for the price you pay, you would be better off in some other hotel at Georgetown itself that is much cheaper and offer better service and facility. I won't even want to stay 1 day in here. And just take a Grab or a half hour bus ride on Bus Service 403E to this location if you really need to be here. The picture from the other reviews pretty much sums it up. 4 blank walls, a bed without head rest a small writing desk with a plastic chair. And a tv with local channels only on the wall but like most Penang hotel that I encountered, the reception only seems to start working well in the evening. Daytime image is grainy. Water heater is always on -normal. Only soap supplied was in a bottle that looked like it was from a dish washing detergent bottle dispenser. Reception Desk is sometimes not available and room guest has their key card to tap to enter the hotel. Hence you need to make an appointment if you are coming at odd hours else there is no way in. I guess anyone staying here is just to attend some exhibition at Spice Arena. I made a wrong choice by changing my hotel stay to here thinking I could store my luggage while I toured the exhibition on the last day. I needed to leave at 4.30pm to head to the airport but told that they couldn't commit that anyone being around to to open the door for me to take out my luggage as check out time was 12pm sharp. No late checkout is allowed. Checked in was only 2 -3 pm only as counterstaff wanted to go home early that day. I reached around 11am and had to leave luggage there and come back again at 2.30pm. I'm fine with the staff having to leave early due to an prior appointment but you could then be flexible and allow me to check in at 11am. Hence my trip at the exhibition at Spice Arena was interrupted by running back to check in and then heading back to the exhibition after that. Counter staff was not really friendly. I was doing more of the greetings then her. Since this felt like a prison cell, her role probably was a prison warden. Only plus point was the water cooler(hot water available) in the reception but couldn't get a hot drink as no cup was available there. Only plus point- In the evening if you bother to walk opposite Spice Arena, there is a food centre called PISA Centre which offer good and reasonable food. Sadly in the morning, it is closed and finding a reasonable breakfast is out. Nearest housing area choices were not that great! No mall nearby too. Hence if you have to stay here, remember to BYO things especially a cup.

Service: 1. Met Ginny when checking at night and she was awesome!! Great conversation and extremely helpful. 2. Check out - a different lady in the afternoon ( I wondered if i owe her money and did not pay - you will have a better experience dealing with a vending machine ) 3. Did not see other staff Facilities: 1. Bed is comfortable to sleep onl. 2. TV - Astro not working 3. No work table or night lamp 4. Toilet no ammenities - there is a yellow color bottle ( i was not sure it was a shower gel or mop liquid) Cleanliness: 1. If you hate cockroaches and insects - don't try coming. I was ok for me 2. Management should really do something about roaches and other insects - mosquitos.. Overall - ok for to sleep only if you have business around the area - SPICE area etc. Good luck :)

my first time rating a "Terrible" hotel on TA and I did stay many times on similar budget/boutique hotel before but this is just very bad. location: its located in a row of shop within a private parking and you need to pay every time you go out and come in. $ is secondary, there is only 1 payment machine and its located on the other side which you have to drive one big round just to pay and exit, its very troublesome. service: staff is mostly run by foreign labours and they are very lazy and with attitude problems. we stayed 2 nights, and we mentioned we need room cleaning and we came back nothing was done, so I ask them they say you have to tell them specifically to clean room and they only change towel, NO changing of bed sheet etc. I ask why? they say they don't practise that, wait WTF? is that hygienic? I know its a budget hotel, but they don't change bedsheet??? what kind of hotel is that? conclusion: Please avoid by all means, there is plenty more hotel with same pricing and locations!

We stopped there for one night on our way to langkawi and were satisfied with d'nice hotel. The facilities are quite new, and the hotel is clean, quiet even tough very close to the airport (10 min by taxi) and all went swiftly. The king bed was very comfortable.

The staff (who assisted me) is friendly as we are having an infant during the stay, so he checked me in at one of the ground floor room, which I don't need to walk up using the stairs. All the basic equipment are there (Iron, drinking water machine, television etc.), the room is clean but it is very smelly due to the toilet drainage. They offered rooms with or without windows, and there will be additional charges if you want a room with windows. So we picked a room with windows, but actually, there is only a small window which you can see the back-alley where people are passing by, so basically, the window is closed all the time. And there is even a pillar in the center of our room (hmmm). And by walking, there are nothing much around the hotel. One of the thing that is causing inconvenience is the area. The area is separated with fences, and by driving, you need to enter through the auto gate and pay a ticket fee when you leave. And the road is quite weirdly designed that all the cars can't seem to find they way in easily.

Honestly, this is the worst hotel I've been to in my entire life. Work trip to Penang for 2 weeks and luckily I just paid for 2 nights instead of the whole trip so still manage to change hotel. The room is small and SMELLS SO BAD FROM THE BATHROOM DRAINAGE. To make things worst, the bathroom door can't be shut and it's a room with no window. It smells so bad I felt like puking all the time, need to spray my perfume all over the room so that I can sleep. Anyway, they only provide one mirror which is also in the bathroom, so think about how am I getting ready with the smell. Seriously pissed off. Anyway, just an honest review. If any of the hotel management read this, pls improve for good. Thanks.
