Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Stayed at the hotel for a week in Feb 2020, was there on business. Rooms were comfortable but the desk chair was a bit creaky. Shower was very good, constant hot water temp (not fluctuating like in some other hotels I have encountered), good water pressure too. Toiletries was simple body wash/shampoo but it's also nice to use. Breakfast could have been better in terms of variety of food but considering the price, I would say it's decent and acceptable. The complimentary shuttle service from the hotel to the factory at Bayan Lepas in the morning is a plus point!

Stayed here recently for a total of 3 nights as part of business trip.
It’s a typical business hotel that is complete with most of the basic amenities. The bed is a little too short to my liking but the room was otherwise clean and comfortable. A huge water dispenser is available at each room as an effort to reduce plastic bottle waste- an admirable effort!
Location wise it is situated just beside the SPICE convention centre. It is 10 minutes away from the airport as well.

The hotel is located at a rather quiet street. There are some good restaurants at the surrounding. However will need to take grab to go to nearest shopping mall. Like queensbay mall.
Room was decent size with a water dispenser. The shower was strong in water pressure.

There are a main road (busy road) in front of the hotel and every morning the traffic with noisy motorcycle sound as our alarm. As this is hotel encouraged recycle, should provide teaspoon instead of plastic stirrer. Only suitable for business stay but not the rest. Will not consider to return to this hotel.

Staying here for 20nights. Into my 5th night, and there’s no hot water. Called reception, and maintenance says that there is a limited time for hot water, 5am-9am and 5pm-9pm. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. And all they can say is Sorry. Poor maintenance is all I can say.
You should inform your guests on all your limitations upon booking so we can make an informed decision.

Me and my cousin sister stayed in a standard room that have 2 single bed. We liked the room condition, the toilet is very clean and the view when we slide the curtain is nice. It was quite convenient for us to find food as many restaurant and hawker stalls nearby.

My first stay at the Olive Tree Hotel was in 2019. I thought it was an excellent hotel, and looked forward to staying there a second time this past December/January for a workshop. It continues to be an excellent hotel - clean, quiet, good breakfast buffet, helpful staff. Unfortunately, all their pillows and duvets are now stuffed with feathers and I am very allergic to feathers and down. When I asked for a non allergenic pillow and blanket (three times), I was told they only had feather pillows and duvets. So this is a warning for anyone with allergic sensitivity to feathers to not stay at the Olive Tree Hotel, as they do not have non-allergenic bedding and you might get sick. If you don't have this sensitivity to feathers, it is a very good hotel.

Overall was good. We stayed there for 4 days 3 nights. Room is clean but the room is not large enough for our family (2 kids (one teenager)). Need to book larger room next time. Easy to get food because the hotel is nearby Syed's Bistro (walking distance). We took breakfast voucher but unable to go for breakfast. The hotel allowed for breakfast packing (packed by hotel) but need to take before 5.30am.

stayed 4 nights as closest to pantai hospital. before covid stayed equatorial.
A: very short beds ! mattress = abt 189 cm overhanging bedhead 7 cm pillow width = abt 30cm useable length of bed =. 189 - 7 - (30/2) = 167 cm = feet hang over end of bed !!
B: bath room dark + wash basin edge is abt 90 cm from mirror = very difficult to shave. No shaving mirror.
C. room service food diabolical ! arrives cold and under cooked ( see photo). food delivered does not match menu photos. AVOID eat out !

It’s only around 10 minutes from Olive Tree Hotel, Penang to Penang International Airport. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle to the airport during certain times of the day. Kindly approach our Reception for details.
"The deluxe room faced the busy road but luckily the room has good soundproofing as it wasn't noisy. The hotel is far from the usual Penang attractions so a car is needed."
