Catherine and Emmanuel are the perfect hosts, the accommodation is amazing, the food cooked by Catherine is delicious and 5 * and to have Emmanuel show you how he passionately makes his champagne and then taste with you is fantastic

We were three couples taking our semi-annual trip thru France. Stopping at Maison des Vignes de Verzenay was a highlight. As a working Champagne winery, and as it was the vendange (harvest) our hostess, Madame Pithois was incredibly busy...but still found time to make us feel welcome with their own champagne by the beautiful pool and terrace. Mdme. Pithois passion...

We recently stayed with Catherine and Emmanuel and can unreservedly recommend their home as a place to stay in Champagne. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and of a Homes and Gardens style magazine standard, and the private swimming pool is in an idyllic setting, a perfect place to relax by after a day out visiting caves and churches. Catherine cooked and...

I can only but confirm all of the excellent comments about this place. You realize from the beginning that Catherine and Emmanuel, the proprietaries, are genuine and passionate about their home and their Champagne. While Catherine will do everything to make you feel welcome in their lovely house that she has decorated herself in French country style, Emmanuel will share...

We spent five delightful nights at La Maison des Vignes in Verzenay last May 2013. We arrived on a cold, wet evening, and upon entering M et Mme Pithois' home, we were enveloped in warmth and charm. Mme Pithois' quiet approach to elegance and beauty belies how hard she must work to create an atmosphere that one doesn't want to...

I guess it is always about expectations and yes it was unseasonably cold and wet and we may have been overtired after more than 24 hours travelling. On arrival, we were shown to our room - a different one to the one we'd booked -(there are only 3). It was decorated beautifully in French Country style, was impeccably clean and...

We arrived cold and wet on a chilly September evening and were immediately cheered by the warmest imaginable welcome (and by our spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated, warm room). Although this was our first stay here we felt like welcome friends staying in an unusually comfortable private house. The table d'hôte dinner was truly excellent (and we are picky eaters): Fresh...

Our vision of touring the region was dozens of welcoming little champagne houses and nice little bistros in each village but these are working towns and basically "closed'. But quantity is not important and one wonderful quality experiece at La Maison will remain with us forever. Lovely french decor in a creaking old bedroom, nice bathroom, friendly dogs, a swim...

We live in the United States and often travel to France. On many occasions, we have stayed in a “Bed and Breakfast”, always “4 épis”. It is always with some trepidation that we arrive at a carefully selected accommodation wondering if the chosen location will meet expectations. Catherine and Emmanuel Pithois’ “La Maison des Vignes, in Verzenay” has surpassed all...

We had the opportunity to stay with Catherine and Emmanuel right at the end of Spring, when the countryside and gardens are in full bloom. As the previous commenter noted, the accommodations are excellent and this old champagne house is littered with charm from the front gate all the way to garden and wine cellar out the back. We stayed...

“Each room is different, both size and style. Prices do reflect this, but all the rooms and their bathrooms are a delight.”
