I stayed with Mr. Hassan and his family at his homestay in Kandy for approximately one week in December 2016. I immediately felt comfortable here and even though it was my first time in Sri Lanka, I was perfectly happy spending time with this delightful family in their lovely home. Mr. Hassan has been running his homestay for over 40...

Very helpful people, and a good place to rest up for a while. Was worried at first by lack of fan in bedroom (even though December, you needed one all night in Colombo!). But it was cool enough, and the sitting terrace got some cool breezes during the day. Location good for peace and quiet, and only a 16 rupee...

Hassan runs this 3-room guesthouse a little more than a kilometer west of the spectacular botanic gardens. He is very friendly and helpful, so staying here feels more like a homestay, though the rooms are in a separate building. I liked the Sri Lankan dinner and simple breakfast. If you are looking for a clean and basic room outside the...

We stayed for two nights at Haniffas Holiday Inn. The rooms were okay, but if you want warm water and a fan, you need to pay extra. Wifi is supposed to be free, but it never worked and the owner gave us weird excuses all the time. Food is good but expensive. We had the feeling that it's all about...

Excellent Sri lankan dinner, more than you can eat, very kind host and cheap prices. You need to inform in advance to allow him time to prepare but if you know you'll be in kandy or peradeniya at a precise moment, this is definitely a place to check !

Hassan welcomed us with a cup of tea and made our stay at his family run guesthouse really pleasant. Their hospitality and the food was excellent. The owner works also as tour guide (more than 40 yrs experience) and advised us with out further route. Also, he'll be helping you planning daytrips in and around Kandy. Breakfast and dinner is...

This place is just outside Kandy, a little bit further then the botanical gardens. It's nicely tucked away in a quiet corner and a nice garden. We were welcomed by the whole family with a cup of tea in the living room. There is one room in the house itself and two rooms in a seperate building which you can...

The guesthouse is located about 10 minutes away from Kandy (400rps approx. in a tuk-tuk) and only about a 15 minute walk from the beautiful botanical gardens. The owner Hassan is a local superstar! His knowledge of Sri Lanka is second to none, his level of English is the best we came across in the country and he can offer...
