I specifically booked a garden view room with 1 large bed but the officer did not bother to check that. Instead we got a car park view with 2 beds joined together. Curtains were torn, pillowcase were torn, mattress were torn and the bedsheet was stained. Only 1 (body wash, shampoo and conditioner) provided throughout our stay.
Overcrowded pool without any sort of SOP for social distancing. It’s in house Oriental Oasis restaurant was not operational. The cafeteria was not opened in the afternoon for lunch but they had dinner buffet priced at RM38 - obviously we were not up for that.
It’s just a huge badly maintained place. Would never go there again.
We stayed at Arabian Bay Resort in a 2-bed room family suite, rooms with 2 single beds in each room. Not comfortable for us since we have 5 year-old kid sleeping together, there were gap in between and it was really hard.
There was TV in each bed room, not in living room.
The pool: was beautiful, my kids enjoy it.
Breakfast: was too simple, not worth the money. The service was very poor.
Staffs : I stayed here for 3 days 2 nights, never seen any smiles form its staffs, reception, restaurant, towel counter, all faces were sour.
I complaint to the supervisor after wrong informations given by his staff. The apology offered.
Hotel provides tram(shuttle) every 15 mins to waterpark (same place with safari park). First tram is at 9:30 am. I think the timing was not ok, it should start earlier. Imagine we finished breakfast at 8 am and nothing else to do just wait for the tram. If you drive yourself, you may park your car at water park do not wait for the tram. Tram will pick up guests at Caribbean Bay Resort too.
Water Park:
The park is actually not huge like what you see in photos. Avoid this place during school holiday! Ticket RM30 for adult and RM22 for kid. The park is cashless park, you have to top up the value to your water proof wristband, every transaction will be made with barcode. However there is top up counter inside the park too, but I recommend to do it at ticketing counter to avoid queuing inside the park. We top up RM200, its enough for locker, tube, cabana renting, souvenirs and foods for 2 adults and 3 kids.
Cabana renting is RM50, renting cabana (Pavilion) is good for family, you will have your own space to put your belongings, changing (kids) and eating.
Outside food is not allowed, you have to buy food and drinks inside, the food was not ok. There are cup Noodles, Walts ice-cream, Chicken nuggets, sausage sandwiches, thats all.
Tube renting RM14 (deposit RM5) and RM10 (deposit RM5) for kids tube.
Locker renting RM10 (deposit rm10), the locker key is bangle-liked key, you can wear it while enjoying the water.
Overall experience, not so special, we can find this kind of water park in Kuala Lumpur. What made the Bukit Gambang park is differ to other places is Safari Park.
Safari Park :
Tickets are RM30 for adult and RM22 for kids. You need to pay additional RM1 per head for tram. Inside the park, Wild Savannah tour (day time only), visitors have to be in the tram, it will bring you around the park with a staff explaining info about those animals. The animals are not various, but rare to be seen in Asia, such as Hyena, Cheetah. However, my kids enjoyed the tram so much.
After Savannah Tour you can walk around the safari, on the way to the village there is a park with restaurant, where the white Lions are. The restaurant (Simba Gourmet Hall) serves western food, the food was good, you can enjoy your foods while lions are watching you :P At the village, kids will enjoy rabbit, goat and elephant feeding. There is bird show at 12:30 and 4 PM, if you miss these and can still enjoy fire show at 7:45PM and Tarzan show at 8:15PM. However the ticket is multiple entries ticket, just do not tear you wristband off, in case you need to go back to your resort or find something to eat outside. The park will close at 8:30 PM.
Hope this will help.
Having a huge pool and huge restaurant age us elbow room during peak hours.
The water park, while not alluring, is built into the hillside. The large slides in the back are especially pretty to climb up to ride.
No, it is not cheap, but go during off peak season, with a family of younger kids, and check your expectations. Then enjoy the great value for money.
The room, overall was fine. It was large, the floor was a bit greasy, the chairs were heavily stained with only-god-knows.. The air conditioner took almost an hour to cool the whole room. The toilet had no toiletries except some abandoned looking shower cap and 1 soap. The toilet floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a week or so.
The restaurant was not welcoming. It looked like a dining hall for students. And food choice, was very limited.
I am really sorry to say all these stuff but I hope some actions will be taken to improve all these problems. The resort is undeniably beautiful but some standard should be put to ensure people will keep coming in the future.
The water park was great, kids enjoyed the attractions very much especially the slides and the wave pool. It was a busy day thus there were long queues for tubes and lockers but worth the effort.
The part that caused major annoyance, to me at least, is that wherever you go within the resort its difficult to find area totally free from cigarette smoke. Since this is a family resort with a significant number of children around, we would expect at least areas with children such as the children's section of the swimming pool or the amusement park would be free from smokers though not the case. It did not appear that the staff cared at all seeing smokers puffing away right next to kids. The water park has notice not to bring outside food in and they searched your bags, but it would be ok to bring cigarettes in and smoke anywhere including the children's area with slides so as it appeared to be.
The least that the management should do is to provide areas for smokers away from children and advise them nicely not to smoke near children which I did to those coming near my kids and smoke, but I feel that this should be the responsibility of the staff. Clear smoking policy should be placed on the website so that customers can make an informed decision.
We were given a family suite which is an apartment actually. During that time some ground works was on duty so its quite noisy during day and night. But overall, I dont have any comment on room.
Lots of activities can be done here. Jungle trekking, obstacle challenge and also water park. The water park was full with people and there is not enough Cabana (tent) since it was fully booked by others. Not enough tube to be rented. Oh ya, you have to change your money into a prepaid wristband to buy food/drinks inside the water park. No food/drink from outside allowed. We were stopped at the entrance and they've checked my bag deeply and clearly even I put sweets inside my swimming trunk. Haha... Very strict management.
The family room was huge but the furnishings were sparse, hard and and uncomfortable. The cleaning was a bit of a joke with accumulated dust in the corners. The bathrooms were just passable.
I suggesting leaving but was my youngest would have had a meltdown she was so tired and the decision was made that as we were leaving early we would stick it out.
Breakfast the next morning was awful, the worst we had in Malaysia and the faces of our fellow Malaysian guest appeared to confirm our opinion. A full hour before breakfast was to finish, items ran out. We asked if they would be replenished and were told no. When the milk ran out we ask for some more and was responded with a shrug!
