I stay here regularly when visiting the company that I work for in Hawick. One thing that you can always rely on is the friendly service, homely meals and great breakfasts. Ideal when you are away from the comforts of your own home for a few days. Service with a smile, and very good service at that - keep up...

I stayed on the coldest night in January, and their central heating failed (a microchip problem in a newish system). They came around unprompted with quilts and heaters, and did all they could to make me comfortable. On the Friday night, they moved me to a room further from the bar so I would not be disturbed by noise. Comfortable,...

I had lunch here with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. There was a wide choice on the menu, plus the daily blackboard. Helpings were generous and there were plenty of vegetables. I would recommend the lamb casserole, which was delicious. Puddings were very good and there was also the choice of coffee/tea and a tray-bake. Staff...

Food really not great, we weren't shown to our table, had to ask which table, children's pizza just disgusting, a cheap small microwave pizza with half a ton of cheese half melted on top, doubt it had even seen an oven, served sirloin steak not rump, despite asking was told it was rump, welldone instead of Rare, this is a...

We spent 2 nights here in chilly weather and found a warm welcome with a comfortable room fully equipped with tea/coffee, TV, good WIFI and a spacious bathroom with bath (requested on booking) – with lots of hot water to ease our aching joints after a day on the hills. The evening meals were excellent (especially the steak), the local...

Just returned from a two night stay at this gem of a pub/hotel. The room was clean, the food was excellent and very reasonable. The owners and their staff could not have been better - the service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again and would happily recommend to friends and family.

Just spent two nights at the Auld Cross Keys playing golf in the Borders, the staff are a credit to Dave and Karen, they couldn't do enough for you. The rooms are homely and extremely clean. The food is unbelievable such amazing value, will definitely return. Thank you for making our golfing break so enjoyable.

I booked to stay in the dog friendly room last week. They were so helpful, and I was mortified when my holiday from work was cancelled and I had to cancel my trip. They were very nice when I called to cancel and will be making a point of staying with them on my next visit.
