This place is special, Dorothy is the most perfect hostess she really made us feel at home in her home, a lovely lady. The breakfast was excellent, all freshly made. We loved everything about our stay and would encourage everyone to visit.

We had a wonderful stay with some of our family on a trip to look up ancestry in the area. The hotel has every modern item you need, but holds onto its old world charm. However, Dorothy was the highlight of the trip. She is warm, funny and provides an incomparable level of service. You won't go wrong booking this... More

We stayed 11 years ago when buying an apartment nearby in centro storico. Recently revisited for a music recital in the old cantina- a barrelled ceiling gem off the main entrance. As usual our hostess, Dorothy was present and enjoying the music. All the rooms here have story to tell in this 18th C town palazzo, ask for a tour... More

Dorothy's home is so wonderful and makes any trip to Venafro sing! It is an amazing town and pays to go slowly and to really take time to explore the town and the beautiful olive grove surrounding the cathedral. Staying at Dimora del Prete di Belmonte completed a wonderful stay. We were extended such courtesy and friendliness from Dorothy and... More

I have stayed at the Dimora del Prete di Belmont Bed & Breakfast two times. The most recent time was just this month. We loved staying at the Dimora del Prete! The owner Dorothy is a gem and she is very accommodating. She allows guests to walk around freely and we felt like we were home away from home. We... More

Stayed here to visit the area and visit family from this region. Dorothy was out of town, but her staff, and especially Maria Guisti were gracious and accommodating. The church bells were charming, and could barely be heard at night if the doors were closed.

This was one of our highlights of our Italy vacation- a stop in Venafro. We were looking for a small town outside of Rome that was near the countryside. This is a slice of heaven. We made out way into the old city right up to the door of this B&B. Dorothy greeted us at the door the evening we... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Palace of the delPrete di Belmonte rises in the middle of the old town centre of Venafro. The palace, on one of the cardinal roads of the Roman town, was restructured in neoclassical style around 1860. It has an enchanting internal garden, surrounded by other buildings. The upper floor of the palace is furnished with period furniture and the rooms, all with air-conditioning, wi-fi and private bathrooms, are available for guests. The ground floor, once used to keep carriages, has been transformed into a beautiful hall available for small conferences, private meetings and other social events. On the main floor, guests may enjoy breakfast in an elegant drawing room decorated with frescoed ceilings depicting views of the town and the delPrete country estates. Venafro, of pre-Roman origin (Samnites), is located in the lovely Volturno valley at the feet of Santa Croce mountain. In Venafro, one can find ruins of a Roman aqueduct, theatre and amphitheatre. Also of interest is the late-Romanesque Cathedral and the lombard Pandone castle. The archaeological Museum in the ex-convent of St.Chiara exhibits Roman finds, including a precious collection donated by the old delPrete family. The Latin poets Horatius, Plinius, Varro and Martialis praised Venafro because of the healthy air, the beautiful surroundings and above all, the olive groves from which even today is still produced an extraordinary fine olive oil. ... more   less
