First off I want to start off by saying that I rarely if ever write a review. I believe if you can not say something good just keep your mouth shut... But this place was amazing!!! Peaceful, tranquil, beautiful and, as I have said before, amazing. It is tastefully laid out with every unit having a view of the water....

Great place to visit with your couple. No more than 8 rooms. Next to the lagoon and with an exc lent restaurant. The bungalows in front of the lake are better equipped however the ones on the top of the hill have more privacy. In summary a great place with great food and really private. A little difficult to find...

These were 3 of the most relaxing days of my life. A beautiful place, on a beautiful lake, with a wonderful dog who lives there and says hello. The food (breakfast and dinner) is wonderful- we had fresh fish two nights, and a seafood pasta the other night. The cabins are clean and cozy, staying cool with the breeze off...

The only problem we had was trying to find this place. We drove to Bacalar town and asked around and found that it was about 20 miles back toward Tulum. My maps app didn't help as the dirt roads that take you back to the place aren't shown on the map. We found a really helpful woman and American man...

We overnighted here one night in December. The drive in was great! Very out of the way. The property and lake were gorgeous. We kayaked and swam and couldn't of asked for a prettier setting with beautiful birds. I would suggest maybe bringing a cooler with you for drinks or snacks. There are no refrigerators in the rooms so it'd...

We had a really relaxing time here with 3 families. Kayaking and sunning on the lagoon. You can do daytrips into the town of Bacalar, Cenote Azul, local ruins, etc. We hadn't done our homework and so didn't realize the location is somewhat remote and isn't well marked at the road. At first we worried that we might feel trapped...

This is a stunning small resort on The Seven Color Lagoon. It is the only one in the over 42 mile length as the gov't has disallowed continued development. Therefor this is a very tranquil location; no motorized water vehicles of any sort. I visited here as part of a tour with Native Choice. No large tour buses could get...

We visited Costa Maya on our cruise on Holland America, Ryndam. We booked a tour with The Native Choice and we are so glad that we did. We were with other travelers from other cruise ships but the group was small, about 12 travelers. The one hour comfortable drive past quickly as our tour guide, Rose, gave a narrative history...

A simply stunning place to stay. Well of the beaten track right on the lagoon 35km north of Bacalar. Beautiful Mayan cabins, well equipped and comfortable surrounded by jungle on three sides and the lagoon on the other. Spent 4 nights here over the New Year, just relaxing, with a little bit of kayaking, enjoying the peacefulness. It's about 4km...

We were visiting Costa Maya on a cruise stop, and our excursion included a visit to the Mayan ruins, followed by an unexpected visit to the Bacalar Lagoon resort. Although we only stayed there for the afternoon, it was just wonderful. We were fed an excellent Mexican lunch, with as many Piña Coladas and/or margaritas as we wanted! We had...
