We've been there just after new year's eve, and slept in the big dorm in front of the lagoon. A truly magical place. Each bed has its own mosquito net, the pier is just in front of you with amacas and lounge chairs to relax. The guys at the reception can organize various kinds of trips and activities. A bit...

This place is at a beautiful location on the lagoon with a pier and a cabana on the water. There are private rooms, tents, and dorm rooms. My complaint is that they cram so many people into a space that is too small. My dorm bed was creaky and springy and the pillow was only half a pillow. The mosquito...

The accomodation was decent, the beds were very close to eachother but had mosquitonet which is good. The two decent kitchens for use and private showers were good. The main reason to stay in this hostel must be the dock they have. It's probably the best dock in the area, with sunbeds, chairs and hammocks for all the guests to...

This is a fab friendly hostel situated on a huge lagoon in Bacalar. It offers an array of accommodation from family rooms and dorms to tents provided by them (so no need to carry camping equipment). The staff are super helpful and can book all tours you need, and it is not far from the lovely little square which has...

Magic Bacalar is a 10/10 in terms of location: right on the edge of the lagoon, great pier to hang out day&night (it was full moon while I was there, amazing view!), small convenience stores nearby. Bacalar center is no more than a15min walk away. Great place to meet people and make friends too. Friendly and helpful staff. And good...

You will do the same when you here It's awesome what you get for your money: - great and friendly service - breakfast and fresh juice - bed close to the lake - perfect view - big privat jetty where you can hang around...

I've been to Magic twice because I believe they have one of the BEST locations, gardens and access to the lagoon. You can literally roll out of bed and into the lagoon for sunset. However the living conditions are unacceptable. The showers are dirty and since they built another dorm room, only 2 showers serve over 30+ guests when they...

The place has a lot going for it in terms of location (lake front) and atmosphere but it has a few small issues too. They seem to be building for tourist season but they need to because one shower and three toilets can't handle the volume of people that stay here. There was some noise from that building while we...

This is a nice spot but they missed something wich is really important and that most of other places didn't forget. This is been right beside or with a view to the 7 colours lagoon. Wich is amazing. Staying in tents gives you a closer taste with nature. It was a wrong idea though putting stones/gravel in the ground because...

# The dorms: small. noisy. dirty. hot. -EXTREMELY small. Not 70m2 as advertised on Booking. com. NO space to put your stuff (a sign even tells you to keep your backpack outside the dorm). Not a single place where you can hang a towel. No space between each bed. -The beds and the whole room is old, disgusting and dark....
