The hotel is small, but very clean and has nicely decorated rooms. The garden is nice for chilling out and enjoying a nice day, plus it has a direct access to the lake. In terms of price and quality you cant get better in Bacalar.

Stayed here at the recommendation of two friends. First big bonus for us was the gated parking--we were travelling with lots of items on a hitch rack, so it was nice to not have to unload for the night. Dog-friendly, so the green grass was welcome after several days of driving--our dog was happy for the walks there. The rooms...

Perfect location on the water front with a beautiful deck to walk out onto. The rooms where simple and very clean, we liked that there where different price options for different types of rooms so it is perfect for any budget. I think we just did the cheapest in the cut little caravan which was great for us and the...

We turned up without booking and although there were no rooms, we were able to stay in a couple of delightful caravans right on the waters edge. We took kayaks out onto the lake and waded out for ages - its a bit squelchy underfoot at first but eventually gets sandy. A bit of early morning bird watching was rewarded...

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Casita Carolina: a cool, fun, quirky place with lovely homely rooms and beautiful gardens right by the lake. The room we stayed in was large in size but small in price (in comparison to other places we stayed in the Yucatan). The room was so comfy, it felt like staying at your...

Funky little resort dripping with charm. Our room was small, clean, cheap with interesting art. No a/c but a good fan and comfortable bed. Friendly guest host, wifi, great gardens and swimming pier. Walk to restaurants in town.

Casita Carolina's is a wonderful experience. The rooms are modest, clean and whimsically decorated by local artists. This magical place has beautiful gardens and grounds located on the waterfront. Easy access to swimming, kayaking and exploring the lagoon. A huge benefit is the location of Casita Carolina's. Although it has no restaurant on premise it is within walking distance to...

This place is great for very easy going travers who are are not looking for hotel amenities. If you prefer the convenience of a standard hotel, this is probably not the place for you. We stayed 2 nights in the Palapa. It has a charming look, but is not high on standard hotel amenities. I misunderstood when booking the room...

Casita Carolina is a special place. The accomodations are quirky, mostly spacious and with lovely, artistic but homely decor. The garden is wonderful and its easy just to hang out there and relax and talk to other guests and Carolina. Swimming in the laguna is a wonderful experience - make sure you get out a bit to the white sandy...

Casita Carolina ,is so beautiful that we stayed 5 nites when our intension was to stay a only 2 nites. The lake is extraordinary. The water is a gorgeous turquoise blue and only 3 feet deep all the way out to the middle, so it's perfect for swimming. The owner is American so we could speak English and clearly get...
