On arrival to Latacunga I went to the Hostal Tiana, where I'd reserved a room. A lot of noisy construction was going on. I was told the private room I'd reserved (right over the construction) would cost $16, with a shared bathroom located the other side of the hostal. A room with a private bath was available for $25 night,...

I arrived very late at night so I felt lucky for having booked this place. It was ok for 2 nights. Beds are not really recent Actually quiet uncomftable. The wooden floor in the alley is very creaky and at night or very soon in the morning, it's not easy to sleep when guests come in or out. Wifi was...

My main problem were the beds; my room had two and both were terrible. One was as hard as a wooden plank, the other so soft you can't move anywhere else after 2 minutes because "memory foam". The WiFi was patchy at best. It was quite noisy in the morning from 7am - I think kitchen work. The ceiling had...

Both room and bath-room were clean. Bed was comfy and noise-level during the night low. Reception was hassle-free and the food at the adjucent restaurant good, especially the pizza (not included in the price). Wifi was slow and often unstable, though. An ok-place for that price.

This hotel was the worst experience that we ever had in Ecuador. Blinded by the rather good reviews on booking.com and in the lonely planet guide we decided to stay for one night. Never again. Dirty room and very dirty bathroom no customer service. After complaining about the situation a waiter from the restaurant below was sent to clean the...

We stayed here as it was the cheapest place we could book online. Later we talked to people who paid less and had a better stay at a hostel nearby - they just walked in and booked, so I would recommend trying that. Hotel Rosim was fine - the room was dark and dated but clean. The bathroom was clean...

This was a poor choice for a stay. Very basic. The room carpets were not very clean. There was only enough hot water for half a shower for my wife, me being the second person got no hot water. It felt like I was staying in a large empty can of tomato juice, very high walls but not much in...

The best thing about this place was the location but we later discovered there were other nicer places nearby for less money. The room was dark and cavernous with a dim light bulb as the main source of light. The carpet and bedspreads are tired and worn. The only way to keep the room door closed was to lock it....

Clean and comfortable hotel near the main square in city center. Hotel was on the more expensive side and really not suitable for budget travelers. Great, consistent WiFi, hot showers with constant pressure. Staff were very helpful in planning day trips to Quilotoa and Cotopaxi. Restaurant closes early. Beds were very comfortable.

Nice and helpful staff (let us use the phone multiple times), decent rooms, solid wifi, but nothing outstanding about this place. There was some loud construction around 5 am, too -- didn't love that.
