We were well warned by the existing ratings for this hotel that the Perkasa has a far from excellent rating. So we expected the worst and got slightly better. First of all its location is spectacular high up on the hill above town with sweeping views of the valley below from the bedroom window(plus pleasant breezes). However whereas its easy to... More

In December we stayed with our two kids in the family room for one night for 180RM. We got a free extra mattress to put on the floor. The room was full of insects including large bees and one bed was infested by ants. The toilet was leeking, the curtains were torn, the shower worked like a fountain, the water... More

The hotel, hotel room & bath room are old, out of date and needed major renovation & upgrade even repairs & maintenance. The room we stayed was spacious and clean. Staffs were friendly. The hotel is on top of a hill with a good view but is out of the town center. Anyway, there are not many choices of hotel/motel... More

Situated high on the hillside above the pleasant little town of Tenom, the Perkasa is surrounded by spacious gardens and a large car park which backs into prime rainforest - so watch out for monkeys and don't leave your car windows open. The hotel itself is, well, shall we say a bit faded. It reminded me of provincial hotels in... More

This hotel is one of the three under the same name and with similar design; one each in Keningau and Kundasang. I had stayed in the other two recently and they are popular among guests who are familiar with it. It is probably the earliest hotel in town and by the look, the furnitures look very tired. Amenities are basic,... More

We required a night stay in Tenom after driving from Poring Hot Springs in Ranau before we drove back to Brunei. As we were not familiar with this small town, the only way was to rely on online hotel bookings on the various websites. Perkasa appeared to be the best available and the pictures displayed looked decent but when we... More

Firstly, the accolades. The views are fantastic, and the wifi in the lobby (not available in the rooms) is fast. That's it. Otherwise, this place is like a morgue. The staff never smiled, apart from the lovely lady who made a valiant job of cleaning my room. My room was a suite which must have been good about twenty years... More

unsmiling service from receptionist when we arrived. very disappointed with the rooom we were offered (room 307). the room emanated a sweaty smell, the carpet was threadbare, dirty, had cigarette burn marks and other mysterious brown marks. the bathroom was disgusting. dirty with cracked and dirty tiles. the toilet seat was actually cracked; could have cut my bottom on it.... I'm sure when the hotel was built, the rooms were nice and amazing. But now they're very smelly, dated, and sad. However the floors did have carpet and the bathrooms had bathtubs, which are both very unusual for Malaysia. The windows opened but had no screens and the windows could not be shut all the way, so we had some... More

We were here early January 2013 for a 2 days 1 night trip. The hotel is located on a hill with gives you a very quiet and cosy feeling when reaching the hotel. The hotel's lobby is just in front of the main entrance... and the doors of the main entrance are widely open. I hardly feel there's any air-conditioner... More
