We have just returned home from a 2 night stay in The Shippon. Cannot recommend it highly enough. We often visit family in the area and stay in a hotel or B&B but with 2 small children self catering is far easier. This place is a real find and we will definitely stay again. The little touches meant so much...

We are a family of 6 with 4 kids aged 18,14,7 & 5. We stayed for 4 nights and we loved it. Moira welcomed us. Kids loved the idea that there are chocolates, soft toys and puzzles to play with which was very thoughtful and a really great personal touch. The cottage is beautiful, spacious, clean, very organised. Felt very...

It was lovely to see a whole family really using the Shippon fully. All cottages can sleep up to 6 and we love to hear that you appreciated our personal touches. We are on the tops and fibre broadband doesn't exist here but WIFI is free so.... We aim high to please all.

Moira and David are great hosts and the accommodation (we were in Parrock Lumb Farm) was excellent. It is self catering and there was everything you could possibly need including a washer dryer and full size fridge freezer. The location is ideal with Huddersfield, Halifax, Manchester and others close by but far enough to still be in the country. Close...

Thanks for your personal impressions of Parrock Lumb Farm. It was good to hear what a great base it made for you on your shopping expedition . On a secondary note there is a new TKMaxx about to be finished at Nelson. Just up the road from us!

We stayed as a family of six(4 adults and 2 children) at the Shippon for three nights at the start of May. The cottage has been renovated from old barns to a very high standard and has everything you need ,even down to books and games for all of us to enjoy. The cottage is spotless and all fixtures and...

Spent Christmas 2014 here with my family and it was beautiful. Very clean and well presented, the cottage has everything you could possibly ned and more, the little extra's provided by David & Moira were very much appreciated and their service and friendliness was second to none. The location is a little out of the way but well worth a...

This place is a gem!! You simply won't find this level of accommodation at these prices elsewhere. We love it here, and have become regular visitors since we 1st stayed in early 2012, and now stay up here for long weekends 3 or 4 times a year. We have stayed in the Dairy, Shippon & Lodge (we are staying in...

We stayed in the "Farm". It was very spacious and light, the underfloor heating was lovely, the kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and the place was spotless. Can't fault it - already booked our return trip.

These guests had an early celebration with local family for Christmas. New babies don't mind when their presents come! Next Christmas will be even more fun at Parrock Lumb Farm again. We loved having you!

My husband and I have stayed at Parrock Lumb three times and I thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday to bring family and friends together from all over the country and indeed as far away as New Zealand.. I wasn’t wrong. We rented out all three holiday cottages – The Shippon, The Dairy and...

These lovely returning guests chose us for their special Birthday weekend and their guests arrived from far and wide .As the three cottages are all side by side ,all age groups found their space, indoors and out. It was great to see the cottages so well used and such a happy event.

Spacious lounge and kitchen, well equipped, warm (it was snowing) welcoming self catering cottage. Great value. The bedrooms on the small size but adequate. Simply cleanly decorated, with underfloor heating, we had a great time Buiding works in progress around to develop more cottage conversions but that was not an issue, there was no noise. Internet by wired Cat5 cable,...

Despite the snow all was warm and cosy at Parrock Lumb Cottages! underfloor heating is exceptionally good in bad weather ! 450mm thick walls help too!. Internet is on WIFI now as well as Cat 5 cabling. Glad our guests had such a good time , the work on our 4th accessible cottage is now complete so we can accommodate...

Booked this place to be close to family on our trip back to UK- this is a home from home and the owners are amazing- a base to discover the whole of England and Wales but with room to have space and home base to visit all areas - Top tip
