We stayed one night on the way to Ecuador. It's a midrange hotel in a small town. Staff where friendly and helpful and had a little English. The room was nice, clean and had the all important hot shower with good pressure. WiFi was good until a blackout in the whole town turned it all off for 3 hours. It's...

Surprisingly, San Ignacio is quite "big", it's not a "one road" town. I got a simple room in this hotel. The decoration is old and some places are dirty. Wifi only can access fb and google. as a "3 star" hotel, staffs cannot understand any basic english. after i put down my backpack and walked around the town, i found...

There is not very much to San Ignacio so realising at the bus terminal in Zumba after a very long journey that when I crossed the border into Peru I would have a proper hotel to stay in was a relief. San Ignacio is small, there may be other hostels but not many, and I could not find any other...

We drove up and down the hill to look for El Faical. The sign was not quiet visible so we passed it several times. Nice pinturas, but realy small number. The local farmer was very willing to talk about his experions finding them.

We stayed one night in the Gran Hotel after a exhausting day of collective rides toward the boarder of Peru-Ecuador and were positivly surprised to find such great hotel in the small town of San Ignacio. The room was big with a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was also big and clean like the whole room and hotel. Even the...

The Gran Hotel in San Ignacio, Peru is not the only hotel with the amenities you'll enjoy here, but it is the easy one to choose if you happen to find it. Come on, TripAdvisor. Put these places on a map! Thirty minutes riding around town asking for directions, and I still needed a guide to find this hotel. The...

This hotel may BE the best option in San Ignacio because there aren't too many choices. The "simple" room was clean, small bed for a couple, spacious bathroom. The main problem was that we were ripped off. We checked in with another couple that we met at the border and we both requested the "simple room" for 50 soles. They...

This is a clean budget priced hotel with secure parking. The rooms are decent sized and the shower was great. The service was outstanding. Wifi was down when we got there and they called us in our room to let us know when it was back and that the password had changed. They also arranged a Sunday morning coffee tour...

We spent a night here while traveling from chachapoyas to vilcabamba. Excellent value for money, comfortable, clean with excellent shower and helpful staff. The journey was great, one of the better trips in over 4 months of traveling. Deep limestone canyons, to open valleys with rice paddies then winding up and around steep hillsides in the cloud forest. From Chachapoyas...
