We were recommended to eat at the Rose and Crown by the B&B - The Old Cider House - where we were staying. We decided to go an have a drink late on the Saturday afternoon and to book a table for that evening. The weather was awful, it was chucking it down with rain and upon entering the pub... More

We are always concerned when a customer finds us less than 100% welcoming. Unfortunately I missed your arrival on the first occasion, although it would be hard to forget the excited conversation surrounding the rosette! The confusion over the table booking was entirely our fault, for which I must apologise. The booking was taken correctly by the afternoon staff, but... More

We arrived late on a fri night from London. The warmth of the local banter, lovely owners, huge comfortable room and delicious breakfast made for a wonderful stay. Next time we'd love to stay longer! Sarah & Tom

I know the headline sounds dumb, but truly, this pub served the best braised cabbage ever. I ate there for a Sunday roast. I'm a Yank and never had that before, and was perhaps overly impressed. But it all really tasted good-- especially the purple cabbage. I've been trying to replicate it at home, but no luck. I guess I'll... More

Really flexible and lovely breakfast too. even had a hose for our bikes afterwards! Recommended for MTB groups - the wonderful Quantocks are on your doorstep... Parking a little... More

The room was clean and comfortable, with a victorian fireplace in the bathroom! Breakfast was well presented and most enjoyable. I found no difficulty in parking nearby and would be happy to stay again.

We stayed at the Rose and Crown for two nights, having our evening meal in the bar both nights. The atmosphere was relaxed and attentive and breakfast the next morning very satisfying. The room was very comfortable and quiet. All in all a very restful stay.

As a local band of Celtic musicians we regularly go out to play on a Wednesday night in many different pubs around Taunton and we all agree that this is one of our gems. There is always a warm welcome from the owners and locals, even when we get our dates muddled! The beers and ciders are always well presented... More

I enjoyed the best vegetarian meal out ever at the Rose & Crown which was a mushroom, brie. hazelnut and cranberry wellington. Gorgeous! Very friendly pub with an electric atmosphere during 'Super Saturday' at the Olympics, well done Jessie and Mo!
