Stayed at the Old Cider House prior to walking the Coleridge Way to Porlock. Comfortable rooms, a great welcome, and a tasty breakfast and evening meal. Knowledgeable and helpful hosts assisted by Ozzy the dog!

Nether Stowey is the ideal base for the Coleridge Way – in fact we’re writing the companion guide! Glad you enjoyed the walk.

A sensible point about anonymity. We are a small and friendly B&B. People naturally talk to each other. If you are not one of those type of people, there are plenty of chain hotels available.

The Old Cider House is a charming B&B, with evening meals also available. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and of varying sizes. Ours was one of the two larger rooms to the front, complete with four-poster bed. The food is excellent, often using...More

After the last review on this site this comes as a lovely contrast. Comments about the ‘wonderful breakfast’ make us wonder if these guest stayed at the same establishment!

    Reviewed 30 May 2014

The Old Cider house is below standard, the house it's self is run down and I did not appreciate having the owners dog being around me when we were sitting in the lounge. There were "spare" fold down beds on the stairs. The breakfast was...More

Whilst we are disappointed to receive a poor rating, it does give us the opportunity to respond and make a number of constructive comments. Firstly, if you are allergic to dogs, as was this guest, this is not the place for you. We were voted...More
