I would happily recommend this hotel. We had a standard room with a balcony which was a really decent size and clean. Staff were lovely and friendly. They were happy to keep our bags and let us use the pool until our flight later in the evening. Quiet location and an ideal 10-15 minute walk to the main area of Kara.

We had a wooden cottage near the reception: very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful: a broken airco was quick repaired. Big fridge, plety of towels, also for beach (including extra mat for under towels). Ca 500 mtr form beach. In evening lots of restaurants (dinner in restaurant of hotel was also good). On beach you can hire longtail boats for trip to islands. We had a great time.

Kata Country House will not be a place we will forget, lets start with the staff. The staff were very helpful and one in particular, Vicki. Vicki was very helpful in changing our room on arrival, initially we didn't like the room we were given (Double Standard) because it was very basic. So she helped us by showing us 3 others and we found one we loved, pool view more facilities etc. She wasn't helpful just for this, she was guiding us through the excursions and got us some pretty neat deals, all of this being accompanied with some well spoken English. I liked the delivery of water every morning to our rooms before we wake up, although it was warm, it's still a nice gesture. The 2 pools are very well kept, must have seen 5/10 staff on it through out the days and times we were there, there does seem to be a bit of a divide in which one the kids and the adults prefer, which believe me we was open to! Last thing it was lovely having our own (by room) beach bag, beach towels and beach mat. Overall, its a great location, 20 minute walk to the beach, you may want to walk on the other side of the road unless you like getting harassed by (salesmen). The staff overall very helpful and facilities were good. The only thing we didn't like was the breakfast, was a very interesting selection and defiantly more what you would eat for lunch, NOT FOR BREAKFAST. Consider more nationalities I would say.

First night in Kata we went here for dinner. Very friendly helpful staff and it's nice place inside. Food was good and not expensive. The staff who work here are its biggest plus. They make you very welcome..

We stayed here for 11 nights and loved it. Booked a poolside room which was very nice. Front office staff were friendly and helpful. Took other staff around the resort a day or two to show the smiles we are used too in Thailand but understandable with majority of people staying were from eastern block and not happy at all. Once they realised we were happy to talk to them the smiles were out there and went out of their way to say hello. I can understand their lack of communication. But we loved the resort.

This place is really nice and a good alternative to the big hotel chains. The traditional bungalows are really charming. Nice little pool set back from street and good restaurant, with breakfast included. . Great value.

We stayed here April 11th-14th and stayed in a standard room. Free Wifi, air conditioning, free water and coffee, private bathroom, tv, free shampoo, conditioner, soap and daily housekeeping. The air conditioning was amazing; like most Thai places, your key must be inserted in a digital reader to turn on the lights and air conditioning - this keeps the bill down for them, as you take the key with you when you leave and it turns of the air conditioning. However, the room got cold in about 5 minutes which was amazing! The room also had a great balcony on it that we relaxed on at the end of the night and had a drying rack outside to dry off our swim gear. We bought breakfast, which was buffet style that included fresh fruit, pancakes or waffles, eggs, toast, and usually two or three thai style breakfast options as well. Fresh coffee, juices and water were available as well. This place also had a great pool that we spent several afternoons in. Literally ten steps from the entrance of Kata house is a 7-eleven, which is a place you will visit every day in Thailand, if not several times a day. So it was perfect to buy snacks at and anything else you might need on your stay! The beach is about a five minute walk down and across the street, but it's a very easy walk and you pass by all the restaurants and shops on your way there! The staff was also very helpful when we needed to book transportation for our ferry, Rassada Pier is about 45 minutes away from here. If we come back to Phuket, we will definitely be staying here!

The Pros- hotel has an ok location about 10 minutes walk to lovely Kata Beach and about 20 minutes to Karon Beach. Also, pool area is reasonably nice with quite a few sun loungers. The Many Cons- Room was in need of a serious renovation. No key card lock on the door. No in-room safe which is ridiculous - you need to leave your valuables in lobby safe. If you lose the key it’s a 4000 baht fee! Room was grubby, and featured a tv from 1980. Rock hard bed with worn sheets. Bathroom was the oddest I have encountered. The shower curtain partially encloses the toilet, making it necessary to hold the curtain up while making use of toilet. Very strange indeed! Very weak dribbley shower with no power . Staff was quite standoffish except for cleaning staff that were pleasant. The property seems to be a Russian package holiday favorite as there seemed to be almost exclusively Russians staying there. Stayed at other properties in Kata/Karon area that were very superior to this sad property.

After so much Thai food I wanted something a little more simple. I got the deep fried chicken breast and steamed rice. My husband got the massaman curry and we shared the dumplings. The restaurant is priced matched well for Phuket but more expensive than other places in Thailand. We spent $500baht where the same mean in Chiang mai cost us $340 baht. I guess that's just the cost of coming to a more touristy location is. The dumplings were delicious and the chicken was tender and juicy. Everything tasted really good. The only reason why we didnt give it a 5 was because we couldn't get away from people smoking inside the restaurant. I guess coming from Canada we are really blessed to not have to deal with that. But the food was delicious and it's a large restaurant so just move around until you find a spot that works for you. The server we had was super friendly and chatty. He was great.
