Do you want a cosy village pub with a fire, stone flagged floor and plenty of cheery locals, do you want a spacious bedroom with a sofa, excellent shower, comfy bed and a church view, do you want a good selection if local beers and ciders in good condition, do you want evening meals cooked to perfection by the chef who has won...

It is our local pub. A group of us went there for lunch recently. My husband ordered my main, but I forgot to tell him I had changed my mind!! I asked the publican if I could possibly change it - obviously it was a big ask - he didn't even pause - just gave me what I wanted -...

Stayed four nights recently, taking the Hardy and Tess rooms. Both are well appointed and spacious, particularly Hardy. Breakfasts are plentiful and varied. The dinner menu is good with the food very well prepared and presented. There is a good selection of beers and a reasonable wine list for a pub restaurant. Hosts Maria and Simon are friendly but run...

I booked a table for four for Sunday Lunch on the Saturday we arrived in Chetnole for a weeks walking holiday. We suggested 14.00 hrs to the man that took the booking, he said it was fine. We set off for a walk on the Sunday morning, and had a lovely time walking across the Dorset countryside, when we arrived...

I woud like to clarify and explain some of the points made above if I may. Our opening times for food on a Sunday and infact every day during the week are 12pm untill 2pm. When the above table rang to book, they were told by Simon my husband that this was the latest time they could have. The above...

It's always been a good venue in the years I've been going there but the current team have been incrementally improving things in the last year - always the best way of going about it in my opinion. Good choice of ales (I particularly look forward to having the Yeovil Brewery beers), and a good solid menu - for a...

Amazing accommodation, lovely big room, great shower, wonderful food, lovely hosts, highly recommended. We decided last minute to have a break and found this on Trip Advisor. Maria and Simon were very welcoming, we liked the fact that we could check in at 12, so it gave us the whole afternoon to go out and about. We had a very...

We randomly found this gem when traveling through Dorset and I said we will stop for food at the next place signposted. The food was lovely, especially the ginger sponge pudding! Service friendly and fast, there was nothing to find fault with.

Menu small, service not bad, had the meal in the bar and felt a little watched over. Thought it was a little pricey. Food was good and you could get a glass of wine instead of having to buy a bottle for one.

Thank you so much for your feedback on The Chetnole Inn, we are very glad that you thought our food was good and our service not bad. I would just like to take this opportunity to run through and hopefully explain some of the other points you make. We keep our menu purposely small with a choice of 8 main...

We chose the Chetnole Inn after reading the positive reviews and also for hygiene reasons we did not want to stay in a hotel that allowed dogs in the bedrooms. The Chetnole Inn fully deserves five stars, the owners Simon and Maria, are excellent hosts who make you very welcome. Simon showed us to our room, which was spacious, well...

The Chetnole Inn is set in deepest Dorset and is a true gem. They only have three rooms which makes things intimate but the pub/restaurant area holds many more. Maria and Simon are welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble. Their food is really excellent with a small but delightful menu. Chetnole i-s off the 'beaten track' but well worth...
