Unique wildlife spotting! Very intense program, guide super knowledgeable and committed to find and explain animals, great food, great vibes. If you love nature you will love it. Wish we could stay longer to understand animals even more!

We had the best 3 days staying here, trekking each day through jungle seeing a wide range of amazing species, including an enormous herd of elephants. Delicious food, helpful friendly staff, cool lodge.

The food, staff and guides were all excellent. The transport to and from the resort was also good and the drivers very careful on the unsealed road to the resort. The dining area was nicely set out and the gardens and look-out tower a great asset. The rooms were a little tired and need a re-fit but the balconies overlooking the jungle were good. Overall definitely not a luxury resort but nonetheless comfortable. There were very few people staying at the resort when we were there - only one other couple most of the time. The guided walks and safaris were interesting.

Besides the Borneo Rainforest lodge which is really expensive and the danum valley field center this lodge is in mid price range. We booked 3 day 2 nights package and had the whole lodge for us. No other people. Maybe still an insider tipp? You really feel being in the middle of the Rainforest. Your guide Rom was really a perfect tour guide with lots of information about flora and fauna. We were not very lucky seeing a lot of animals but the jungle is really impressive. The meals at KDRL were damn delicious. For lunch and dinner you always had the choice of 3 different meals. For example chicken, lamb, fish, squid and always vegetables with a different sauce. The facility is a little bit run down but clean and ok for 2 nights. But don't expect a 5 star hotel there. You're in

This amazing place is set in Danum Valley Rainforest, as soon as I got there I was made very welcome and I sat down with a lovely lady who explained how everything would happen. My room was okay but had no air con, that didn’t bother me as I had a lovely big fan instead. I was then given some lovely food all freshly prepared. I then met Wangkong who was my guide, what an interesting and knowledgable gentleman. Within my first afternoon I’d seen wild elephants and throughout my stay I saw a long list of animals and experienced some amazing views. The staff were all very helpful and wanted to make me feel as comfortable as much as possible. Its very quiet and relaxing and I enjoyed my stay immensely.

Besides of a lot of failures that the lodge has (the once you can read in the bad reviews: like no food, poor forest, not so clean rooms, poor wildlife) the thing is that we been robbed. We leaved our thing in our room under key, and once we leave we realized that 400 usd and a pair of Rayban sunglasses were taken of our stuff. We contact the management and the answer was really poor, they didn’t accept their responsibility. They blame us saying that we had a belongings breaffing (something that never occur) and pretending that even our locked room (which they got a copy of our key) was not a safe place. Also they said that as we realize and notice late the lost items we could lost our things in other place, actually we realize one day after leaving the place when we wanted to

I stayed for 3 days and enjoyed being there so much. The lodge is well located surrounded by beautiful nature, very good and comfortable sleep, everyone so kind and helpful. I will always remember the time spent there, was so relaxing. My guide was a fun person and he was the best in picking up the leeches from my clothes :D
