Me and a friend wanted to book active holidays around Sabah and we found a ton of travel agencies offering packages to do so. What Tisha and Simon from "Bike and tours" offer is not just "another holiday package"! They tailored each detail to meet our wishes, treating us like family! They work with local guides, promote eco-tourism and have the most welcoming and comfortable bed and breakfast in Lahad Datu! Flavoured fresh water and homemade cookies by the pool? Amazing homemade dinner and breakfast with flowers and fruits from the garden? Welcoming smiles and goodbyes each time we come and go? They have it all for you! The accommodation is very very clean and quiet. They have a very nice cat, which only stays outside or in the common areas. We got a room with a direct door to the swimming pool and 2 huge beds! The laundry service was also spotless.
We were sad we didnt stay there more time!

Visited this B and B for one night to have a break whilst travelling between the Kinabatangan and Rain Forest. So glad we did! There is a lovely feeling of calm to Simon and Tisha’s home, we were tired and spent the afternoon around their little pool. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The absolute highlight of our stay was the authentic Malay meal cooked for us by Tisha. It was by far the best dinner we had during our three weeks in Malaysia. Fresh yellow fin tuna from the market that morning, soya curd which had been marinated and cooked for hours, curried squash, green mango salad, pineapple in coconut all lovingly served on a large banana leaf and explained to us by Tisha. Dessert was tapioca, salted caramel and palm sugar with vanilla ice cream, all quite delicious. We were lucky enough to have our dinner around their pool which was all lit by candlelight, it was a wonderful and memorable evening, thank you. Breakfast was substantial and freshly cooked, Simon and Tisha are wonderful hosts and it was a privilege to stay in their home with their delightful young family, I can highly recommend this B and B.

My wife and I and two of our friends had been on a two weeks long trip of birdwatching and nature watching in Sabah and needed a relaxing place to stay for a day before departing Malaysia. Bike and Tours perfectly fit our needs. The local couple and their staff who run this completely charming little place were warm, welcoming and helpful and very concerned about the welfare of their guests. This was the the cleanest, neatest and most well run place that we stayed in in our two weeks in Sabah. Our room, the garden suite, featured two full sized beds, ensuite bathroom and access to the lovely and beautiful garden and pool. It was light and airy and well air conditioned. When we arrived we were greeted with a delicious homemade beverage made from locally grown ingredients including blue pea flowers plus lime juice and it was indeed blue and beautiful as well! Our dinner was a delicious and artistic marvel, a beautiful adaptation of traditional Malay fare, as was our breakfast the next morning. To summarize, our stay was utterly delightful.

We stayed pre and post Tabin Reserve trip. We received a warm welcome by Itisha and her family. We chilled in their lovely garden and had a refreshing dip in pool...and yes, we also had an amazing dinner. So many different flavors, sooo tasty and filling. It was a real treat. On the second night Itisha cooked another lovely meal which we shared with the family and fellow travellers. It was so lovely to enjoy Malay hospitality and chat with the family over a glass of drink.
Simon served up a breakfast feast which was really tasty and fueled us up for the day ahead. He also dropped us off at the airport. We slept well on both nights. We try to refrain from using wi-fi much when we travel but on this occasion we needed to change our travel arrangements at short notice and it was really helpful to have access to fast wi-fi.
We were shown a great hospitality during a very worrying and uncertain time.

After months of isolations due to the MCO we decided to take a trip to Sabah with a stop in Lahad before moving to Danum Valley. Ithisa Simon and the 2 little girls are simply amazing. We were welcomed like their family members. We travelled with our 1 year old son and tons of toys were ready for him. ithisa is a super chef who cooked for us a delicious Laxas Johor served in a romantic set in the private garden. The room is nice, clean and very comfortable. Definitively a place to stop before moving to the Valley

We had an amazing stay with heavenly food. After days in the jungle we needed time off and some pampering. Homemade ice cream by the pool was perfect for kids and delicious coffee at any time was exactly what we needed. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

My partner and I stayed at the Bike and Tours Bed and Breakfast for two nights, prior to heading to Danum Valley.

We can honestly say, we were blown away by this accomodation. The hosts, Simon and Tisha, were incredible and the staff were lovely and helpful. Basically, the hosts and staff were the definition of hospitable.

The standout for us was the breakfasts and dinners. They were the best meals we ate whilst travelling Malaysia, all prepared in-house, traditional but artistic. Our dietaries and allergies were also attended to without fuss. I’ve added a photo of one meal (I don’t want to spoil the surprise of other meals you might get!) to give you an idea of how beautifully presented the food is.

If you are travelling to Danum Valley, we’d highly recommend staying at Bike and Tours before you head into the rainforest.

We initially stayed for one night at this B&B. We arrived far too early to check in but it was no problem but first we needed to familiarize with the welcome drink. The explanation was a ceremony in itself and the drink was delicious. The room was very spacious. All staff were extremely friendly and we were given plenty and good advice regarding local things to do. The village is an excellent start (and end) for visiting Danum Valley and this B&B is the perfect stopover. We requested that some bags could be stored until we returned from our 3D/2n trip to the valley. It was no issue. We also requested to book an additional night upon return which, again, was no issue. Breakfast is fabulous. When we returned it was all the same however we were fortunate to also enjoy a dinner which was very tasteful. Tisha and Simon and the team deserve a big thank you for providing top notch hospitality, fantastic food which is served on plates that look like little paintings. Lastly: Simon also booked the 3D/2n tour at Kinabatangan and it was a great arrangement.

This is an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived (early) we were greeted and made to feel welcome. Simon even carried our heavy bags to our very comfortable room upstairs. We were meanwhile seated and offered a magical pea shoot juice that changed color as we added lime and sugar syrup to our individual taste. We then enjoyed a swim and were offered another cool drink. You absolutely must arrange to have dinner here. Tish has a “supper club” with a set fusion menu that is innovative and beautifully presented. She is open to any dietary concerns. Sitting in their garden with a few other tables was magical. Breakfast was equally impressive. Our stay here was an inside glimpse into local life and one of the highlights of our month long trip in Malaysia.

Wow! From the welcome drink on arrival through to the breakfast on our morning of departure the food was obviously prepared with care and the presentation was fantastic. We happened to be there on Valentine's day and not only was the dinner delicious but we all had personal handwritten place settings wishing us a happy Valentine's Day, and the ladies each had a small posy. They had brought in live musicians and decorated the room. This is just an example of the impression we had that owners and staff went the extra mile.
The rooms were clean and there was a charming little garden with a small pool. There was a delightful balcony (I think they called it the orchid balcony) with lots of lovely plants, which was another pleasant place to sit.
Another example of the care and attention that went into everything was the excellent coffee which they roasted themselves.
It is conveniently close to the airport and makes a great overnight stay (or longer) if you are planning to go to Tabin or Danum valley.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

I consider it would not be sensible. The journey to Tabin is easier than to the Danum valley but the journeys are slow. you would miss out on early morning and night animal spotting. An overnight stay would give better options. However the best way to get a knowledgeable answer is to contact bike and Tours and ask them. They are exceptionally helpful and will advise you what's possible.

The rooms each has doors with locks. The room we stayed in had a desk and comfortable chairs. The bathroom was part of the room with its own door, like a hotel room. There was an upstairs sitting room and one downstairs as well.
