I've just had an enjoyable 4 nights at the newly branded Slate. Other than the name change and some mix around with happy hours and promotions in F & B, a dash of blue paint, there were no other significant changes at the hotel formally known as Indigo Pearl that I've frequently visited. I'm pleased to say the staff did seem...

We chose The Slate because it was located near the airport and was close to the beach, we stayed for 1 night over the weekend. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the most superb staffs, 5 stars given for their customer service level!! The concierge also helped to park our car at the carpark area for us. Check-in process was...

During a trip around Phuket, Koh Lanta and Krabi we stayed in five hotels but The Slate was the top pick. Found the hotel recommended in the Telegraph travel section as the best value upmarket resort to stay in Phuket. We'd spent a night in the Marriott nearby but theSlate was a different class. Stunning grounds, large spacious rooms with...

We stayed here one night, before moving on to Phi Phi island. We stayed in a Pearl suite, which was fantastic, with terrace lounger/bed/cushions, and an outdoor bath. The hotel is industrial themed, and I enjoyed looking at the décor/furnishings, which were mostly made out of metal/sculptures. The gardens are lush greenery, and cover a large area with 3 pools....

The resort was beautifully maintained and surrounded by lush greenery. This made for a very relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, with a double bed, as well as a day bed, and it still had room for two cots. The sound insulation between rooms was decent. That said, we were awakened by birdsong every morning (not an entirely bad way...

After a disappointing experience on Koh Phi Phi I needed to get away and having stayed at The Slate before (when it was the Indigo Pearl) I rang the hotel and got a great deal with them directly for a pool suite (the best value rooms in my opinion, with your own terrace, garden, plunge pool and outdoor bath). Oh...

This hotel was beautifully themed throughout and it really feels like a slate mine in a tropical location. This styling went right down to the smallest details including the soap dispensers in the bathroom. This had a really nice feel. The first impression when walking into the hotel is really lovely as well. We were staying B&B basis and the...

1. The hotel has no air-conditioning in the public area. It was grilling hot to have the lunch in a closed restaurant with actual grills going on 2. The hotel is designed based on a deserted mine - you will not like it if you are the conservative average people who just want a traditional resort quietly 3. The room...

Dear Jun, It is sad to learn that you did not enjoy your stay at our resort, and we are very sorry about your loud neighbours - had someone informed us we would have gladly assisted in quietening them as we find very late night disturbances unfair to our guests. We would hope that you would consider returning in the...

To begin, I...over the last 46 years, have travelled the world, so to speak. Additionally, worked a bit in the travel industry in Outside Sales. I cannot remember when I, and my family, have been so impressed by a property. Immediately upon arrival, we were met at the van by a female staff member, who ushered us over to a...

Dear 'Mango Lover', We don't know where to begin with your positively glowing review! It's such a pleasure to read about how much you and your family enjoyed all aspects of our resort, aside from the light-weight phone base and lack of inbuilt 110 volt sockets - we'll certainly consider improving on this in the future, though luckily the majority...

Just returned home from 11 nights at the slate. I have to agree with the other reviews about the stunning resort. Their were a few problems, noisy weddings. Which I did not travel all the way to Thailand to be unable to sleep for the noise. Also the key cards to open the room door never worked, every time be...

Dear 'Litsteroban', We are very sorry to hear of your experience at our resort - it's clear that we did not live up to our usual high standards of service, and we will certainly take your comments on board so that we can improve the overall experience for all of our guests. Thank you for your review, and if you...
