The staff are phenomenal. The room provided was spacious and the daily service was outstanding. The location of the room to the pool was convenient and although we had a private gazebo it was among the trees and we did not utilize it. The ocean at low tide which was most of the time was over 100 yards from the hotel beach. The water was brackish near the shore but was clear blue out into the ocean. The food was average in all three restaurants with the wings being the best meal we had which was in the bar. Great hotel close to the airport where you might stay while transiting the airport to your final location.

We stayed here during the rainy season and had a wonderful time - this hotel has everything you need: amazing breakfast (western options like Bircher muesli, big variety of bread and French cheese, pancakes as well as Indian, Thai and Chinese options plus a great variety of fresh juices and fruit).
The service is impeccable and always wears the renowned Thai smile that simply spreads happiness. There is a wide variety of activities like aqua fitness, soccer, beach volleyball and even Thai language lessons. We especially enjoyed Body Stretching in the morning at the beach with Haris, Sunset Yoga with Plai and Muay Thai with Bank.
House keeping was simply exceptional, they even cleaned our swimming goggles.
A rich variety of activities are offered in the kids club as well, like „little artist“ and origami. There’s guests from all around the world so the little ones can make friends with Japanese, Koreans, Australians and Germans. There was movie night three times a week, which I liked because then I could do some writing.
Sustainability: instead of plastic bottles the rooms have glass bottles with water every day. There was much less waste compared to other hotels and it was inspiring to see how many gardeners keep the property and the beach clean and beautiful every day.
This hotel has it all - if there were six stars on trip advisor, this hotel would deserve them.
A big congratulations and thanks to the management and the entire hotel staff for advancing the art of hospitality. Our recent experiences at Westin Osaka and this hotel motivated us to become Bonvoy members.

This hotel is so close to the airport, I ended up booking just for one night in between flights. I wanted to stay somewhere luxurious even for a short stay and this was perfect. They even kindly upgraded my room which I loved so much (I was a gold Marriott member at the time). If u want to use the spa make sure you book ahead, you can even email them before you arrive

After sixteen nights in Thailand we headed to the Mariott Nai Yang Phuket for our last night. From the moment we arrived our hearts sank. Rather than receiving the help with the suitcases, the cool fragranced towel, temporary wi-fi code and a drink (which every other hotel we had stayed offered), we instead found a small packed, chaotic reception room with lots of angry, tired looking people and were offered nothing.
As we had arrived a little early and our room wasn’t ready we headed to the beach only to find that it was an ugly building site. There were constant banging/building noises. There is no mention of the building work on the hotel website and we felt very misled. We looked for a sun bed/lounger only to find they were all taken. People were sitting on towels on the beach. No staff anywhere to help. Dirty plates were left on tables next to loungers.
Our room was still not ready at 3pm but we finally got it we discovered the lift to our top floor room was broken. Exhausted we thought we'd have a cup of tea only to find there was no milk only dreadful coffeemate sachets. When we called to ask for a small quantity of milk, we were told the charge would be 120THB! Every other hotel we stayed at brought free milk, had Nespresso machines and coffee capsules not just instant coffee sachets! We paid USD 400/night without breakfast for this?
When we complained to reception, our concerns were waved away (we got the impression that many guests had complained about the building works etc.,)
This soulless hotel is without a doubt the worse place we stayed in during our Thailand holiday. Had we been made aware of the construction site impacting the Marriott Nai Yang hotel in advance we would have stayed at an alternate hotel.
But perhaps the most disturbing issue is that staff didn’t really ‘care’ – we experienced excellent Thai hospitality this trip in 4 hotels (The Amari, Sai, Layana and The Banyan Tree) where the staff in each could not have been more welcoming; whereas at the Marriott the approach was formulistic and one of simply saying whatever had been trained from a menu of responses, without the individuals ever really conveying a sense of wanting to resolve relatively simple issues (aside from the construction sites, where it is simply a case of mis-advertisement by the Marriott group when selling the hotel room).
If you want a wonderful holiday with true Thai hospitality and service don’t settle for this!

Dear 5hol14, Many thanks for your candid feedback. I am disappointed to hear that we failed to deliver the exceptional hospitality we are well known for and I am saddened to hear that this has tainted your overall experience. As indicate don our website our standard check in time is 3pm. But as you might also have seen on various reviews we endeavour to allow our guests to enjoy the guest room as soon as they arrive, provided that we have rooms available. You arrived during peak season where unfortunately we could not extend our usual flexibility and asked for your understanding. However, the room was ready just before 3pm and you had checked in. When I walked the beach I saw you taking pictures on the beach, and I was about to ask you if I could assist you in any way but unfortunately you walked away. As many guests had ordered their lunch before (which we had provided in our practical Bento Boxes) and had finished it I was collecting these boxes from their sunbeds. While we remind our guests to ring the bell once done, we also patrol the sunbeds on a regular basis to keep all neat and tidy. While you saw the boxes and glasses you kindly overlooked that I personally removed them, with the help of my team. I noticed you took pictures of a dormant building on the left side of the resort, an area that is not part of our resort. This building is over 16 years old with no construction activity for over 2 years nor any staff overseeing it. I well remember that several sunbeds were taken, and some guests preferred to use their towels in the sunlight while others prefer the sunbed in the shades. We leave it to our guests to decide where and how they are using our sunbeds, and I also remember that several sunbeds were still available. I had checked with our recreation team that was on standby at the beach, but no request was made to them to assist with arranging or moving a sunbed to your preferred location. Our guest rooms are tailored to the expectations of today’s travelers and our amenities form part of our global brand standards. Obviously, we would love to surprise and delight you wherever we can. It would have been our pleasure to provide you with an additional coffee or espresso machine, an item that is freely available in all our suites and villas, and daily fresh milk, would we have known of your preference. We have been awarded and rewarded with countless positive guest reviews over the past many years, and many of our guests come back again and again. And one thing that always stand out in their applauding comments – our amazing team and their dedication to exceptional service and hospitality. I would be thrilled if you give us an opportunity to make it right for you and to provide you with an amazing experience. Please do contact me personally and I will ensure you will have a fabulous time with us. Sincerely, Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach Team

In August 2024, my family and I stayed at the Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach, opting for a beachfront villa with a private plunge pool. The villa itself was well-appointed, offering direct access to the beach and a sense of seclusion nestled in lush greenery.
The beachfront location was a notable highlight, providing beautiful views and convenient beach access. The private plunge pool added a touch of luxury and was a nice feature for relaxing. The surrounding greenery created a tranquil atmosphere, enhancing the overall setting.
One of the advantages of the resort is its proximity to the airport, which is just a short drive away. However, it’s worth noting that the resort is at least a 45-minute car ride from popular spots like Patong Beach and other key landmarks.
While the setting and amenities were as expected, the overall experience felt somewhat neutral. Given the resort's fairly high price, we had anticipated more personalized experiences. The service, because it was delivered strictly by protocol, lacked a personal touch that might have made our stay more engaging. Staff were professional and adhered to standard procedures, but there was little in the way of personalized interaction or memorable service moments.
The resort’s facilities, including the dining options and spa, were satisfactory but did not particularly stand out. The service at these amenities was competent but did not go beyond the basics.
A note on the kids' club: despite the best efforts of the staff, the environment was less than ideal. The kids' club resembled a zoo, largely due to the poor behavior of some children and the passive, uncooperative attitude of their parents. This made it challenging for the staff to maintain a controlled and enjoyable atmosphere.
In summary, while the Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach offers a comfortable stay with a beautiful location and solid amenities, the overall experience was more functional than engaging. Given the hotel's high price, we had hoped for a more personalized and memorable stay. The service met expectations without delivering exceptional or personalized touches. It was neither a great nor a poor stay, just a steady and predictable experience.

This review is the hidden truth that we wished we knew. Background info. As a couple we booked a 14 day holiday half board in the Marriott Nai Yang beach a Deluxe double room with garden or balcony view.
Good stuff.. the hotel is absolutely stunning and the rooms to match. Staff are very happy and always welcoming with a smile and extremely helpful.
The things they don’t tell you.. You will have to pay a holding charge by credit card when booking in and this ranges from £250 - £1000 GBP. They won’t accept a debit card only credit card or cash.
As we are half board we found that the menu you get is extremely subsidised to the point there is only a couple of food dishes and you’re only allowed 2 course. And this happens in 2 of the 3 restaurants. The other restaurant (mamas kitchen) you will have to pay full price as this is not included in the half board. You can however ask for the other menu with 40-50 plus pages of options which you will have to pay for.
Half board menu choices 4 starters 2 soups
Main course 4 mains 2 pizza 2 pasta
Dessert 7 options
You are only allowed to choose 2 of the above.
This totals to 2 and half pages
The other menu has around 40-50 pages of option that you pay for
Once in a while they do a buffet style which has very limited options as well.
Beach is stunning but the hotel doesn’t put beds or chairs out and for most of the day it is low tide so you have to walk half a mile to the waters edge.
Pool.. so the hotel has an option to have a swim up pool to the lower rooms that is also connected to the main pool. The swim up pools are only waist height and the main pool is 1.9 meters deep. Seating around the pool is an absolute joke. The hotel has hundreds of rooms the lower floors have the swim up pools that are shallow and the remaining room 2/3 of the hotel occupants have to fight over the 25 pairs of beds around the pool which shade is limited. The pools are like walking into a warm bath and really well kept and clean.
General information about the hotel is extremely poor. They don’t advertise entertainment if there is any, we’ve been here 3 days and there has only been entertainment on one night for about an hour. Again the seating area is poor with about 4 sets of wicker furniture supplied for seating for the whole hotel.
We haven’t seen any daytime activity’s at all but you can pay to have use of the spa facilities.
The hotel is literally nowhere. There are no shops nearby forcing you to use the 1 limited shop on site. This shop you can buy fresh water, cans of drink, 2 flavours of Pringles and not a lot more. We decided to wade over to the neighbouring town of Nai Yang which is about 30 mins walk away with no shade. This is where you start to see the real Thailand and the prices to match.
Please don’t get me wrong with this review. The hotel is stunning I’m just pointing out the things we wished we had known before booking the holiday.

We had a very lovely 5 days at this beautiful hotel - it's a short 15 min taxi ride from the airport which was perfect for us as we were only staying 5 days. Rooms were large, perfectly clean with all needed amenities and so pleased we chose the pool accces room as this was just that extra special! Great evening band duos and sunset rituals with cocktails and Marshmellows too!
You can walk easily to Nai Yang beach and the hotel run a free shuttle bus into the town so you can see some real Thailand which was great! We booked the Ultimate inclusive package where you can only eat at The Adaman restaurant for all your meals. They offer a great breakfast buffet full of many international dishes, but for your lunch and dinner you choose from a selective menu of Thai dishes and all drinks have to be taken away from here, unless paying to eat at another restaurant, so this is definitely something to be mindful of before booking as could get quite repetitive if there for a longer time. However the restaurant couldn't have done anymore to help our restrictive dietarys and really helped make our stay so much more enjoyable with their exceptional care and service and the quality of food and cocktails was amazing (Tums Margaritas are legendary) so special mention to Tee and his team, Noo An, Jasmine , Sai, Fern and Tum for really going out of your way to help us!! You are a huge credit to the company!

An absolute 'wow' of a holiday! Genuinely our best ever. We arrived stressed and exhausted and left happy and rejuvenated. From the first email enquiry to checking out, staff went above and beyond in providing wonderful service. Special thanks to Tee, who checked in with us daily at breakfast to ensure all was well and to offer his assistance.
Speaking of breakfast... it was a highlight. Everything was top notch and the juice & coffee bars were the icing on the cake. I especially enjoyed having mini chia puddings and acai bowls on offer; but there's everything and more for every taste. The pool was great, with a deeper area that branches off on either side into canals to explore. It overlooks the ocean, which is very restful. And we appreciated the complimentary mini drinks and fruit offered.
Our room was great, with an extra bed provided for our teen daughter (not easy to find in a hotel, in my experience). Fon, our housekeeping assistant, was attentive, efficient and very friendly. We really appreciated her services. The location was ideal for us - quiet, away from the hustle and bustle yet with easy access to Nai Yang via the free shuttle (twice daily) or a 10 minute walk along the beach (tip: you'll need to cross the area where the river meets the ocean so go at low tide).
We are already planning a return visit next year. We work and save hard for our annual holiday and it means a great deal to us to be able to enjoy it to the full.

Absolutely beautiful grounds, staff and food. Greeted with a smile and ‘sawadee kah’ by every staff member when we pass by.
We bought a room with breakfast inclusive, the food and service are exquisite. Worth the extra to experience the vast array of cuisines- all the pastries you can think of, pancakes, eggs any way, curries, hot pots, exotic fruits and juices, coffee any way you like it. We cant recommend this enough.
The house keeping staff are wonderful with attention to detail and extra care when making up the room. Zara is wonderful and very thoughtful.
The grounds are immaculate and the pool is maintained meticulously. We got a pool side room so we can open our back door and jump straight in the pool. The chanel wraps around the rooms and connects you to the main pool with ocean view. We float down from our room to the main pool and have a drink and enjoy the sunset.
Nai Yang is an hour away from the most touristy part of Phuket, about $35 - $50AUD (800-1000 bhat). We enjoy Nai Yang because it is much quieter and less hustle and bustle. When it is low tide you can walk from the Marriot a 10 minute walk along the beach to the main drag.
Stunning!

We first stayed here 7 years ago when this hotel just opened and decided to spend one night here on the way back home from Phuket during a recent holiday, partly out of nostalgia but also because it’s only 10 mins to the airport and we had a morning flight. From a slightly rocky check-in experience, Richard salvaged the situation and made the rest of the short stay seamless for us. He’s a star and should be acknowledged. The other person I’d like to call out is Chef Vipin, who supervised our son’s allergen free food during dinner and also prepared a lovely breakfast box for him for the next day. He was very kind and spent a long time at our table planning the food and making suggestions, for which we are so grateful.
We booked a pool view room but were upgraded to pool access room and also got two glasses of sparkling wine and some sticky mango rice complementary for Marriot elite members. The rooms are large and modern and very comfortable, with nice bathrooms and good amenities. We only ate one meal at the Andaman kitchen but it was really good Thai food, and the cocktails prepared by Billie were delicious and exactly to my taste (i.e. not too sweet 😊). Richard also arranged the previous night for some coffees to be sent to our room at 5 AM the next day as wake- up service, which were punctually delivered without reminders and much appreciated. We took the taxi from the hotel to the airport, and this was very comfortable. The resort looked like it had not aged at all in 7 years and I’m not sure, but I think the rooms have been updated once in the interim, and there are also more restaurants on site and other improvements. The hotel is extremely good value for money, and I would recommend it and may plan a slightly longer stay next time to experience everything else on offer here.

Unless you have chosen a prepaid rate on the Marriott bonvoy website, your card will not be charged until you arrive. I don’t use credit cards in case they get cloned during my visit. I use debit cards and only put in what’s required. I generally pay for my whole stay upon check in and give a small deposit so I have signing privileges but will top up if I spend more. Safer that way.
If you have chosen a special prepaid rate, there will be a date that they will charge your card upon confirmation.
