The Storyboard Beach Resort is a family-owned operation consisting of six cottages situated on a beachfront property on Peleliu Island, Palau. The cottages depict the traditional architecture style with modern conveniences, such as hot shower with ceiling fans for comfort. Each cottage is situated to have the maximum view of the spectacular sunsets from your balcony. The resort was originally designed as a dive destination for divers who want to maximize their diving time and relaxation.
We enjoyed our stay at the Storyboard. These are 6 rustic cabins by the beach- very simple although hot and cold running water and air conditioning is available. The beach is not appropriate for swimming but the sunsets were amazing and it's lovely for a Robinson Crusoe experience. Vilma cooked up excellent meals (be sure to ask her to make her version of pork adobo while you are there) and kept the cabins clean and the grounds tidy. We did have some issues with bicycle rentals. I don't recommend renting through the Storyboard- the provider they use brought us old, poorly maintained bicycles ($15 per day). I suggest making your own arrangements through the resort/dive shop located a 10 minute walk to the South (exit the hotel and turn right on the road). They had nice, clean, evidently well-maintained bicycles for $10 per day including bicycles for two at $15 per day. I don't recommend renting from the hotel/tourist agency/gas station (the one with the pirate-crab logo) a 5 minute walk to the Northwest- I did and had a very unpleasant experience with that. Also, if you are planning on seeing the WWII sites or diving in Peleliu you will need a permit ($15 and $30 respectively)- you should pick it up at the little tourist office on the dock where the Nippon Maru II and the Odesangel Dil ferries from Koror berth- to keep you from having to backtrack. Overall, a lovely experience.…

First of all , we are group of two backpackers travelling around Palau and we decided to go to pelielu. We ended up in this place since the review on TripAdvisor were quite ok. JEES... The hotel was composed of several ( rundowned ) bungalows. There was NO ONE at the hotel. We were the only one. Once arrived a really kind lady came to welcome us and showed us the way to the bungalows. Once entered i could immediately see the holes on the walls leaving a free access to mosquitos and other bugs. No mosquito net ( in this island they had an outbreak of dengue fever some months ago!!) . But ive travelled quite a lot so i can adapt to these kind of accommodation for a couple of nights. But the real surprise was when i found out about the price : 120 USD PER NIGHT. Nothing included. But since the lady couldnt prepare something to eat for us because they werent expecting hosts ( food that in any way i would have to pay ) we had to go and.look for some.pasta at the.local supermarket they made us a dicount and we could stay there at ONLY 112 USD per night !!! Well we just spent one night there in quite dirty bed sheets and with mosquito biting us all over. The day after we found a better accommodation for half of the price with A.C. and no bugs! Of course we didnt have the sea in front of us anymore... but even the beach wasn't that great. I would never recommend this place to anyone. …

Then, you don't come to Peleliu to laze around on the beach like dead crab, right ? (actually, you can but the spots are secrets). So, Storyboard Beach resort is the perfect spot to stay after some good dives. Bungalow are very clean, very confortable and you can relax on the balcony like 5m from sea-side, under magnificent trees. The food is great and staff lady very helpful. Better forget about internet, not very convenient. It's terrible, only thing to do is to enjoy.

Considering the fact that food and accommodation can be a hit and miss on Peleliu (I stayed two nights at Adventures Inn and had to escape), Storyboard is a pleasant, if dated, boutique resort (only six bungalows) that is currently single-handedly managed by the lovely Wilma. I visited the resort for dinner one night (as I was tired of being ripped off by Adventures Inn) and had a lovely and a generous three course meal for $15. Wilma makes do with what food is available on the island (mostly brought in from Koror) and serves it on the sandy floor of the open air dining room overlooking the beach/lagoon. No license but one can bring a bottle from the market. I decided to stay and spent three great nights in one of the bungalows. Despite their age, the magical is still there when one sits on the private balcony overlooking the water and the sunset. Number 3 and 4 benefit from the wifi that is in the dining area for those who are keen to read the news online. Number 1 and 6 are farther away from the dining area so have no wifi. The resort will undergo a thorough renovation in 2017, so be sure to ask about noise if you book then. Until the project is complete, you may obtain a good rate... Considering the waterfront location, the views, the common areas, the strong wifi and especially the food, I think Storyboard offers the best value for money on Peleliu at the moment. Please note the wifi is not free. It requires the purchase of the PTT company scratch cards. …

We stayed at the Storyboard Resort on Peleliu for 2 weeks in August 2015. Peleliu Island: Peleliu is a remote, tropical, peaceful island with many palm trees where you can relax and enjoy the silence, nature and wildlife. Most of the time we were the only tourists on the island. Peleliu was a WW II battlefield and you can easily find WW II relicts, caves and monuments all around the island. There is also a small WWII museum. It’s a small island with about 100 homes and the people living there are very easy going and cheerful. There are about 3 or 4 little shops on Peleliu where you can buy things for basic needs and drinks and sweets. One of the shops also has a little open air snack bar right next to it. There is another thing special about this island, but I will keep this as a secret. Accomodation: The Storyboard Beach Resort is a small resort with six charming wooden beach bungalows with small balconies offering a sea view with fantastic sunsets. The cottages are simple and clean and equipped with comfortable beds, ceiling fans and fridges. It’s only about 20-30 meters to the water’s edge, the water is very shallow and not suitable for swimming or snorkeling. You cannot and you shouldn’t compare it to luxury resorts but thank god there are no such resorts on the island. People who complain about geckos on a tropical island should better stay at home. ;) Between the cottages there is a lovely small open air terrace where food and drinks are being served. The food was excellent and diverse, there was nothing left to wish for. Our hosts - Chastity and Edita - were very kind and helpful with everything. They cared for diving arrangements, bike rentals and transfers and did everything to make us feel like home. Diving: Diver's paradise: Peleliu is the perfect starting point for diving in a “breathtaking” underwater paradise. You save about 40-45 minutes by speedboat twice every day since you will be picked up on Peleliu for diving. From Peleliu you can reach perfect divespots like Peleliu Corner, Peleliu Express or Peleliu Wall within a few minutes. Divers should be experienced since there can be stronger currents around Peleliu. It also only takes you about 15-20 minutes to get to world-famous dive spots like German Channel, Blue Hole and Blue Corner. We did our dives with MAML divers from Koror, who always picked us up on Peleliu. We spent many spectacular hours under water with our wonderful guide Jeffrey. There were not many divers since it was low season. We booked dives in advance and received a discount of 10$ for each two-tank dive. Further activities: Apart from diving we also made some bike tours and beach walks around the island and we also chartered a private boat and did a rock islands tour, went to Jelly Fish Lake and went snorkeling at some wonderful spots e.g. Clam City. It was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had so far and we would have liked to stay longer. It really felt like home and we were very sad when we had to leave the island again. But no need to cry, we will already come back this March to get another slice of paradise and we are already excited about diving in the high season. Thank you for this wonderful time! See you in March!…

We prebooked the accommodation and told them when we would arrive on the island, we agreed they would pick us up at the dock. After arrival no-one was there. After waiting some time, this is not Western Europe after all, still no-one. A friendly lady tried to help us by calling Storyboard, but wasn't able to contact them. After an hour or so, she called another guest house who came to pick us up and we stayed the night there. The next day we went to the Storyboard to see if we could check-in. They were very angry that we didn't stay there on the first night and demanded that we paid for that night. They supposedly arrived after we had left for the other place... Anyway, this was resolved eventually and we stayed at Storyboard, for the remaining 2 nights. The place is an absolute dump. It is dirty, dilapidated, uncomfortable and very basic. Let my photo's speak for themselves. Food was okay-ish. It is at the sea, but you cannot walk up to it. In general, there are much better options on the island. After seeing the others, don't expect luxury. They are all quite basic, yet friendlier and cleaner.…

We didn't stay or speak to anyone but it looked like it was no longer operating. It needs to come down I think. The Peleliu Dolphin Bay Resort and Dive Shop right next door is right in the street, fronting onto the same beach though, and well kept and full of life. Go there!

This is a small bungalow hotel set in a tropical garden. Unbelievable sunsets every night, either from yr small veranda or from hotel garden. Food freshly cooked by Benji and Lani was always very good and varied. The are the most friendly couple we ever met, running the hotel on their own. They arranged everything: from pick-up at Carp island, all trips on the island, giving us a lift to the beach and picking us up again, drawing a map for our trip with bikes, ... One thing you should know, the water at the hotel is too shallow to swim. The WW 2 trip is really very interesting, we recommend the full day trip with Des from Peleliu Adventures. Scarlet beach was nice for swimming and super for shelling.

Where to start? A friend and I visited Pelileu in July (low season). We were the only tourists on the island! So we had it all to ourselves :). From first enquiries we had great response and service. Benji and Lani organised our accommodation, our boat ride to and from the island, all our activities including diving and bike hire. Nothing was too much to ask. Anything you wanted was catered for. The rooms were perfect for our needs and the views amazing! Breakfast was waiting every morning and dinner with views in the outdoor restaurant. We had many great conversations with Benji and Lani, they are lovely and made our stay memorable. Looking forward to our return to Storyboard :)

A basic but unbelievably tranqual resort with the most amazing sunsets. The hosts Benji and Lani were very hospitable. They bent backwards to make our stay a pleasurable one. I would highly recomend Storyboard to anyone wanting to kick back and relax.
