We three nights in order to visit the butterfly reserves. No credit card was required but we were faced with a demand for cash in advance upon arrival. The woman at what passsed for a front desk spoke no English. There is no restaurant but some provision for breakfast is available at extra cost. The "hotel" is a series of...

It was a really nightmare: When my husband made the reservation on the internet, he wasn't required to give the credit card number and when we arrived the hotel, the receptionist, who didn't speak English at all, asked for cash in advance. The hotel doesnt work with credit cards. The town hasnt got much in the way of restaurants and...

Wonderful stay here. We had 2 cars & 9 people. Our hosts prepared a simple but delicious chicken dinner. No heat in rooms but lots of blankets! Gracious hosts. Would gladly stay here again. It was a wonderful and colorful retreat at the end of a long day of travel. Town is fascinating with mountain stream rushing through town. Homes...

Simple, clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. There may be some missinformation on the web becuse I don't think there are actually any rooms with a fireplace, but they did give us a portable heater to use. Also liked the breakfasts and dinners. Some say it's expensive but I look at it this way - it's a short season to...

We had a quick tour out to Angangeo to visit the butterfly reserve and prebooked this Hostal. While there was no faulting the rooms or location, it was overpriced with very bad service. There are plenty options in the town, with even a good share of houses that offer rooms in their own house as well as tours up to...

So the location is great, its in between Sanctuary El Rosario and Sanctuary Cinchua. The hotel was clean and pretty and the breakfast was ok. The staff seem a little unprepared to deal with people, The town is very small and anything like a good meal isnt possible, (there is one restaurant there, bueno cocina economica). The hotel has a...

We're delighted to discover this pleasant small hotel so close to Sierra Chincua and Sanctuario El Rosario. In previous years, we stayed too far away to thoroughly enjoy the sites. Don Gabino, located in Angangueo offers basic, pleasant and sparkling clean rooms. We weren't bothered by the cold as others seemed to be. Found the breakfast handy and hearty. Grounds...

Pluses: Nice, clean comfortable rooms. Hot water in the shower. You can ask them for a heater for a very little surcharge - and it helps! Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Minuses: Reservation was VERY complicated (and I speak fluent Spanish :). Each time I called they would say they have many rooms available and then by email they would give...

I have had a room reserved for over a month now. We confirmed the reservation through emails on 12/16/14. The night before my international arrival (2/6/15) I have been informed they will be unable to provide their service to us as they are 'very busy'. I'm extremely displeased and would enjoy if the management resolved this immediately and welcomed us...
