Hotel's Favourite
We spent a long weekend at the resort and had a great experience. The hotel has been refurbished lately and looks really good, the room was very spacious and the views were breathtaking. The public areas are very big, there is enough space to have a lot of distance between guests, which is greatly appreciated in this pandemic era. Also, the frontline location allows you to be lying down by the pool area but with great sea views, as well as walking directly into the sea from your hammock. Outstanding!! We had lunch at the pool bar and it was great, too. In summary, I strongly recommend this hotel!!!

Good food, nice atmosphere and entertainment, room service all right and overall a hotel ill come back to again. There are no pianos but the bands and acts who play every couple days are fine sometimes even really good. I liked the buffet, it has something for everyone. A few years ago they changed their dining room design which I definitely didn’t approve of because before it was much better. But if you don’t mind a slightly ugly atmosphere in the dining room and haven’t got the one from before to compare, it’s fine. The rooms are big but our TVs didn’t work properly. Half the channels were unavailable, and unfortunately most of the English channels. But there’s a TV in the bedroom (of the suites) and one in the living room. Many German visitors, some English some Spanish some french. (If you’re looking for a playmate for your kids who speaks the same language) The bar Luna hasn’t got the best pizza - it’s very dry and generally the pizza has too much cheese. The cocktails are good. The toilet with the fish with red lips on the door is the ladies one and the black lipped fish is the men’s toilet (that’s the only distinction) (in the main building, ground floor) friendly staff.

We just spent 8 days in this hotel, travelling in a large family group with several small children (4-5 year olds). We had high expectations, as this hotel had been recommended by some friends with children. We were staying at their most expensive room, the Royal Suite, and the rest of the family in Junior Suites. At check-in, we were a bit taken aback by the welcome. Essentially, we were given a bunch of rules of what we were and were not supposed to do (carry a breakfast and dinner card to the restaurant to prove you had the right to be there, a deposit you need to leave for swimming pool towels to make sure you do not steal them, the very strict hours of certain services, the fact that you need to pay 2 euros per day to use the safe in your room etc). A whole sheet full of rules. Nothing makes you more welcome. To top it all off, the welcome includes a nice plastic bracelet you need to wear all the time during your stay. (Let us remember this place is in no way an all-inclusive resort, so why they need to brand their customers is just beyond me). Oh, and please pay for your whole stay in advance, please. Always a classy touch. We thought: oh well, maybe it is just a quirky start. Alas, the rest of the stay was not quite up to scratch. The views from the rooms, especially the suites, is just breathtaking. And the rooms have been recently redone. A shame about the beds, which are very narrow single beds, with some sort of weird plastic mattress cover that makes sheets slide so you wake up in a bundle, having tossed and turned all night. When we told reception about the bedding, they said they would do something. Nothing was done. We finally resorted to at least taking our the silly plastic covers out ourselves. Royal Suite service if I have ever known one… At the restaurant, everyone is nice enough. But this is a massive hotel, and there is not enough staff. They will rush you through dinner so that everything is ready for the next shift (yes, you are given a shift, due to Covid apparently). There were some other nice anecdotes, like when the staff at their Luna pool restaurant told us we needed to get wet under the rain as they could not roll the canopy out due to the wind (in a windless day). Top notch. Location of this place is just perfect, right on the most beautiful beach. Children facilities are also great, and they are the saving grace of the place: the kids club (great staff there, actually), the playground and the pools really make the place for children. In summary, given the overall physical setup of this hotel, it should be great in theory. The problem is that it is run as a hospital rather than a hotel: you are tagged, given a bunch of rules and you are “dealt with” rather than welcome to the place. You are not so much a guest as just another part of the herd.

Dear Guest. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and other guests. We very much regret that we were not able to meet all of your expectations and that you were not satisfied in all aspects with your stay. Currently there are differnt restrictions for hotels because of the Covid. As we are obliged to identify our guest in every moment, in this year we included the systems of the bracelet. As soon as the restrictions don't request this we will remove them for shore. We are sorry you didn't feel comfortable in the beds. The matress are new, high cuality matress which have two different degree of hardness depending on the side. Because of the current Covid restrictions there is a limitid number of guest who can be in the restaurant at one time. To full fill this criteria we reserve a fix table for the guest in the time shift which is prefered by the guest. If the table not suites the expectation our service team check the availablity to finde one which suites better. Please understand that it's not possible to change the reserved time daily as we couldn't control that the max. guest number will not be overdrawn. Our team strives every day to ensure that all our guests have a wonderful stay. It makes us sad to hear that you didn't feel that way. We would be happy if we could welcome you back to our house, maybe when the covid restrictions are lifted, and if we had the opportunity to better meet your wishes. Kind regards Playa Esperanza Resort

Hotel and grounds are kept spotlessly clean. We booked a junior suite with lateral sea view which had a huge balcony, pools are fabulous plenty of beds and access directly to the beach All the staff are excellent. Only issue was that we were allocated the early sitting for breakfast and dinner on arrival which with two teenagers was not suitable and I would not have booked if this was made clear as part of the booking process. I did ask daily to move and was changed on day 4 but felt like an inconvenience. That aside the restaurant was excellent and the food is fresh and varied there really is something for eveyone. Overall a really great stay would recommend to all. A point to note you are not able to flag cabs in Playa De Muro and the hotel didn't have much luck booking for us either due to demand on an evening and many buses don't stop outside due to being full so it can be difficult to get around. We walked up to Alcudia but it is about 3km so not for the faint hearted or infirm. There is a rank in Alcudia for the ride back and its approximately 8 euro. I expect things will improve as Covid restrictions ease though.
