Turned up here 13 days ago at very short notice after having been let down with a Villa we booked. The staff where extremely helpful with helping with our problem and organised us 2 ground floor apartments for us all. Good facilities, very clean and well maintained. Super friendly staff and great location, 5 minutes walk from an amazing beach.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August and had 2 rooms, A standard one bed apartment and one deluxe terrace apartment. Overall we didn’t have the best holiday and I wouldn’t return but it was ok & I was grateful to get away. the negatives: The rooms were basic and small. We had mould growing around our air conditioning in one room and the place smelt mouldy. Both apartments looked dated, felt a bit dingy and need a refurb. Communication from the staff at check in was poor. We weren’t told that the drinks in the mini bar of the deluxe rooms were all free so only drank the water. We also saw that some rooms got spirits but these were never put in our deluxe room. We weren’t told about the grill restaurant and only worked this out for ourselves after observing people ordering different food on the terrace. Service from the majority of staff was average to poor and very slow. It felt like they didn’t really want you there or that they didn’t enjoy their job. We’d often get ignored when we went into the restaurants and waited a long time for any kind of service. Food took a long time to arrive and sometimes didn’t arrive. I walked away from the pool bar on one occasion after being ignored for 5 minutes when there was no one else even waiting. The evening entertainment was poor and isn’t on every night. We had booked this hotel thinking it would be fun for the kids as it was advertised as a family hotel but it was actually pretty boring. We tried to get to the mini disco at 8 ( an awkward time as it’s when you are usually eating) then had dinner and that was it for the evening. The mosquitoes are horrendous and we were all bitten multiple times. The hotel makes no attempt to alleviate this problem. We have stayed in Mexico when there was a similar problem and they were frequently spraying and smoking them out. The area around the hotel isn’t the best, a lot of tacky shops and a few average restaurants. The positives: The food was fairly good. There was a good selection on the morning and evening buffets. The food in the grill was of a good standard. Picco was hit and miss, the food was nice but service was slow. The pool areas were pleasant with plenty of sun loungers The beach was lovely and in hindsight we should have booked a hotel directly on the beach as this would have worked better for us. Some staff were friendly and attentive, notably Marco & Christian on the terrace. We usually book 5 star resorts and changed to this hotel last minute due to Covid affecting our plans so maybe we were expecting too much from this place but I certainly wouldn’t give it 4.5 stars more like 3.5

We literally did 1 night at this hotel before coming home, we weren't overly keen on where we had been staying and as a travel agent I'd always wanted to try this place so we booked it out there for the 1 night! It did not disappoint. Room was fabulous and we were given a pool view on the top floor! Really clean and spacious. Sunbeds are no issue whatsoever! We got there early and were the only people around the pool. It must be a really laid back resort as it was ages until people started emerging! Even later on in the day beds were available. I'm not sure how it would be if the hotel was at full capacity - this was just my experience. Lovely location for the beach (which is just stunning!) we ate at Dakotas Tex Mex just outside of the hote. The service was fab and food really good. I'd love to come back for another holiday - highly, highly recommend.

We stayed here for 15 days - in the Deluxe room with our private rooftop terrace and mini pool. It was genuinely amazing. After two year no travel, this is what we needed. We booked only the room, because we prefer to take care of our own food and with the Deluxe room, there comes free water/spirited beverages/beer (10 pieces a day) in your room and a club membership with snacks available in an airconditioned lounge. Additionally, you can grab coffee/tea/water/juices at the restaurant and one cocktail a day. For us, this made it already feel 'all inclusive' because we don't eat that much... - Personnel - Amazing people. Super friendly, helpful and nice. I even lost my Chanel wallet one night and in the morning, the maintenance guy cleaning the pool recognised me and walked up me that morning to give it back. This says so much! All the personnel recognised us, they knew what we wanted in the morning (a latte and lots of water is what we picked picked up throughout the day and I didn't even have to show our Deluxe card or ask - they just knew. The same goes for the people at the reception. We ordered something online and they were friendly and made sure we got our package. - The room - The room (apartments) are spacious. We initially booked the standard apartment which is already big and upgraded upon arrival. The apartment is like 50sq meters and with the Deluxe apartment you get an additional 50sq meters in the form of a rooftop terrace with Bali-bed, outdoor lounge set, private pool in addition to the balcony downstairs. Also, the kitchen is slightly bigger, which was comfortable. All rooms come with a large fridge, which is perfect. Kitchen appliances are good - but could be a bit better. I was missing some more knifes to cut fruit/veggies and there are no wine glasses in the room for example. The deluxe room offers a Nespresso, standard doesn't - so we were already happy we upgraded for this. The beds are a bit hard, but there are enough pillows to make it comfortable for yourselves. One things that could have been better was the number of sockets. There is only one next to the bed and for the sleepers in the living room you need to remove the socket from a lamp to charge your phone there. Also, there are 2 sockets next to the tv but these are for the TV and Playstation. So charging your laptop is hard. Also, I would expect to have at least one outdoor socket if I wanted to charge my phone outside. For the locked you have to pay. I am not sure if we got it for free or we paid for it, butI think this is a bit strange if you actually have to pay for it. I understand a deposit is in place as you pick up a separate lock at the reception, but in case I would only charge a deposit so you know for sure you get it back. The room has a separate shower and a bath, which is amazing. This is also the case in the standard rooms (which we first checked out before we decided to go with the upgrade). The bath is relaxing and large enough to fully get under the water. *Idea* for the rooftop terraces... provide (or rent) big movie screens for outdoor and for example large mosquito nets so you could sleep outside on the Bali bed as an experience... - Cleanliness - It was good. I would say this one is the only 4 out of 5 stars for me. Outdoor the maintenance is great - however one of the pools Jacuzzi functions didn't work. Cleaning could be a bit better in the rooms. Yes, they clean it daily, but I saw dust on electricity outlets and especially in corners. On our last three days we suddenly had ants in our room, but I guess that is hard to avoid. The reception acted quickly so the problem was mainly solved. Also with cleanliness - the hotel is close to a nature/water area and especially in the first days it smelled a bit like from the sewer. Be bought bleach and after a few days that smell was gone. It wasn't major - but it could been better on this point. Nonetheless, we definitely are coming back. The cleanliness of the gym was okay. Yes - there was disinfection spray - so that's good - but the floors were dirty. And we came there every day and it didn't change. - Pools - The resort offers 7 (!) pools. It's amazing. There is one dedicated kids pool (located separately from the others) and then 4 more outside which look like one but you need to enter them separately. There are different depths so also areas where you could swim. Online I saw there was a heated pool - but we didn't found that one and also a pool only for adults - which wasn't there either, or just no attention paid to it. Then there is a small pool inside and also a heated jacuzzi inside. However, the jacuzzi was occupied most of the times so maybe work with a reservation system there. What was great is the towel service. There are already 4 large towels provided in each room and then you get 2 cards to get towels at the pools outside, but you could just grab them yourselves, so this way we never had to use wet towels. Officially it is 2 per room (or 1 per guest) and you have to pay a 20 euro deposit for every towel extra, but that wasn't needed - and I liked that to be honest. There was an aqua Zumba class most of the days - especially the ones with dancing were amazing and I truly enjoyed it. Outdoor there are more then enough sunbeds available, however not enough parasols if you ask me. But in general, enough I would say and if you are around 8:30 there is enough seats free. It is not allowed to put towels there, but still people do it and no one seems to be paying attention to it. -- It is a family resort but we didn't really mind. we travelled as a couple and the location is great if you come for rest. The beach is on like 200 meters walking and there are supermarkets (expensive) on the boulevard. But if you walk 2 km from the hotel there is an Eroski supermarket with 'normal' pricing and I believe there is a Lidl in Alcudia (but you have to take car/taxi//bus).

Really enjoyed our stay at Dorada. Pools were excellent for the kids, amenities were good too and the buffet breakfast/dinner had excellent choices everyday at a good price. The best part was the room. We paid a little extra for the roof terrace and splash pool and it made the holiday extra special for the kids. Great holiday at a great resort with lovely staff. Aslan and the lady (with a bun in her hair) who ran entertainment and brought high energy were wonderful!! On the penultimate day of our stay I went for a run and visited two other resorts nearby (VIVA and one other). Both looked more tatty, more crowded and less pleasant (admittedly it was at first glance).
