This was my family's first visit to Thailand and from the moment we arrived at Avani we were completely blown away by the exceptional service. The hotel transfer from the airport to the hotel is a must. The van provided baby seats, cold towels which were very welcome in the humid heat, and cold cans of water. A 15 minute drive to the hotel was nice and quick. The lobby is so beautiful and peaceful, we were given cold towels and welcome drinks which were unique and tasty. We were then taken in a golf buggy to our room and the grounds are so beautiful and surrounded by lush greenery and birds chirping. The room blew us away. We were given a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom sunset suite and it was out of this world. Beautiful modern clean apartment with everything we needed, plus decorated our bed for our wedding anniversary and some arrival cake and cookies - so lovely. Everything can be ordered and arranged via the hotel's app which was convenient (room service, buggy requests, etc). A huge plus is that we had access to Anantara hotel's pool facilities which was a short buggy ride away. It was amazing for the toddler to run around and play in the sand there, and the drinks service was so good. We had a huge fresh coconut and cocktails, and some nibblies. It was also right on the beach if you wish to have a look. 4 on-site restaurants were fantastic and the breakfast buffet was perfect. Across the road was a handy pharmacy and some cafes and shops for snacks etc. The pool at Avani was always peaceful and never crowded despite it being peak time of year, I guess because there are a lot of pool villas so the communal pool doesn't get too busy. We felt so lux staying here and it definitely set the standard extremely high for any other hotels we visit in the future. We can't wait to return to Avani+ Mai Khao. Highly recommend!

The Avani+ is a wonderful property only topped by a its team. the location with the Mai Khao beach cannot be topped. The benefit of using the Anantara facilities was the cherry on the cake. But what will stay with us are the people that made us feel so welcomed and went out of their way in every aspect. We fell in love with this place and its team and should Phuket be on our list again, we won't be looking for a second place. Thank you so much for a holiday in a time which has challenged us all, but we made us feel safe, welcomed and we wished we could have stayed much longer.

Had a 4 night stay. Nice greeting by Nui who had only been working there for about 6 months. She was able to explain most everything. The breakfast was good. The room was nice but we had to call two different days to have the room cleaned. The pool at the sister complex by the beach was very nice. As has been stated by others the prices for food in the Village were high. As someone who has extensive global trave I alway carry a small black light to inspect the bathroom and bedroom for cleanliness and other unwanted body fluids that can not be detected by regular light. The toilet seat revealed marking of some kind ( see photos). I called and asked for the Manager. I explained and educated her about sanitary conditions. The new toilet seat was installed.

We stayed here for 15 nights during October. The one-bedroom villa that we booked was lovely and we cannot fault the accommodation at all however the service needs some work. Initially we were checked in at Anantara and advised our breakfast would be served there which was a lovely lagoon setting. After a few days we received a note that breakfast would be served at Talad which the selection and service was very poor, we ended up going elsewhere for breakfast each morning as Avani were not flexible with their offerings. Then came the issue with the bikes, we asked to use 2 bikes for a few days to get around Mai Khao a little better, we were advised that there would be a charge for the bikes, despite the majority of villas having Anantara bikes parked outside I asked Anantara who advised they don't lend bikes to Avani and if we wanted to use them there would be a charge. The food and drinks were over priced and the quality was not what we had expected from such a high-end hotel. Claws however was extremely good but other than that we ate at different places and resorts close by. The spa was lovely, in a very nice setting and the treatments were good. After staying in Anantara hotels regularly we were highly disappointed with the service we got from Avani and Anantara at Mai Khao, unfortunately we would not look to stay here again if we were to visit Phuket.

I stayed in Avani + Mai Khao with my wife and daughter we have an excellent stay and enjoyed the comfort of the room with beautiful view over the sunset, all the facilities are very well kept and the team extremely attentive to our requests. We experienced most of the restaurants and were very happy with the variety and quality of dishes offered. I used the Avani app a lot and it did not disappoint, very easy and fast. We stayed for a long weekend in Anantara Mai Khao Serviced Villas and I never wanted to leave, it’s just an amazing getaway. The resort is fabulous, staff is very warm and friendly, the pool villa is so amazing (it has all you need plus extras that you might randomly need to use like a full set up kitchen, washer/dryer) you can just stay in your private poolside on hours with no end, breakfast spread had so much to offer that you get confused what you want to have, across it is a mall where you can buy stuff that you might have forgotten to bring and you can also access the beach, spa and other restaurants of the other Anantara. I can’t wait to go back to this resort!

Read great reviews about property and ver expensive to learn villas were across the road from resort. Beach was not 300 meters as advertised you needed shuttle to take you. Deck around private plunge pool had rotted wood and protruding nails need to keep shies on. Tile edging was cracked very sharp tile - interior draperies stained brown on white shears. Could not use pools at the resort , you had to stay at resort. Distance away from markets, groceries you needed to rent car to get anywhere and car rental expensive. Said they had a gym within so many meters when in fact there was no gym you could walk to - needed a shuttle. Nothing is as stated on any website. When I asked manger she too lied as did manager next day. When questioned marketing and advertising misleading. One said they took it up with head office which was absolutely not the case. Staff were very friendly but make no mistake villas amenities are NOT as advertises and we learned these are timeshares!

From reservation through check-in, the service was impeccable, and we were upgraded to a Sunset Room with a Spacious and breathtaking view.
We requested a surprise birthday for our mother upon arrival, and the team did an outstanding arrangement with bed decorating and flavorful chocolate cake. Every single details was flawless and immaculate, we knew exactly that the team made them with their ultra service mind with all attentiveness. We have had a wonderful time at Avani Maikhao and appreciate the staff's efforts to make our stay unforgettable.

The property provides high-quality accomodation but is also relatively expensive. Great for families as they provide mattress (inflatables) in the swimming pool which the kids loved.
No direct beach access - you have to take a buggy to sister property Anantara Mai Khao where you can also use their beach club etc. (very nice but a bit crowded).

We chose the hotel by its amenities/facilities and we didn't regret: Small water play zone with two rides, surfskate park, 24/7 gym with bouldering section, tennis court, private beach, few pools, few ponds with lotuses and other beautiful flowers.
Fully equipped kid play indoor area with hourly activities, teen play zone with arcade machines, air hockey table tennis and few other fun things.
All this makes this place a good place to stay for few weeks and not get bored.
Breakfast buffet had lots of choices and all food was of the highest quality.
Complimentary nuts and fruits are nice little things.
On territory restaurants are a bit pricey, but if you have a car/bike, you can easily ride to Khao Lak and have cheaper and bigger choice of meals.
Also our room has some unpleasant smell but it was not that strong so after few minutes in a room you stop noticing it.

Oh yes absolutely and they are surreal!
One is called Claws (amazing for sea food) and the other I have been is called Chop Chop (they serve burgers)
They sre both within the property so like 2-5 mins walk depending where your villa is.
Make sure you try mongo sticky rice as a dessert. So delicious.

Depend on the 1 or the 2 bedroom villa. The 2 bedroom is considerably larger but I won’t know the exact sizes. But I think good enough for dipping. Use the main pool if you are swimming laps.
There are more places to choose from in the Mai Khao area.
