Just back from 2 week tour and having stayed in some pretty amazing places, we agreed this was the best. Driving up the drive was jaw dropping and yes it may be a little worn around the edges, but you truly feel like you are staying somewhere very special. We really only dropped into Kandy city on the way, and...

A wonderful atmospheric property just outside of Kandy. Definitely not western standard 5 * but thats more than made up for by the wonderful atmosphere adn colonial era ambience of he building and the attentativeness ofthe staff. Previous reviewers have commented on dirtyness of teh pool which I realy dont understand - again, its not what youd get in a...

As many people have said this place is great old building and is very calming. We were the only people staying so we were treated really well. Free Wi-Fi was a nice touch. The food was very good (the Sri Lankan curry was brilliant) and the rooms were a good size. The pool wasnt open and the shower stand was...

We stayed in this place to end our trip. This is a King's palace converted to a hotel. The place has more value for the money you pay. It is in colonial style. Very clean, But a little far away from the town and it is worth the travel. Awesome pool and lovely sit outs. Wonderful service.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review and we are pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay at the mansion. If I can make a small clarification, The Mansion wasn’t used by a king but once the house of the chief of the Temple of Tooth Kandy. Kindly visit our history page to find a bit about our history...

The Mansion is a hidden gem just a few km outside Kandy. A large colonial house, spotlessly clean, set in large well kept grounds and with its own swimming pool,The Mansion is a fantastic place to use as a base when exploring Kandy and nearby sights. Our room was spacious and grand - far better than you'd expect at this...

Spent 3 nights here and we were very happy with the place. The rooms were large and airy, and although the set menu did have some limitations the staff were happy to make changes when asked. The highlight was the home made chocolate mousse - make sure you try it if they have made some. The location was fine if you...

It's an old, very charming place! The setting is wonderful, everywhere you see, you see a tropical garden with ricefields, palmtrees and lots of flowers. It's a very quiet place and the staff is so friendly, you just want to stay there... We were sorry we had to leave and would love to be back at the mansion!

The Mansion is a beautiful hotel with huge, spacious rooms. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The meals and breakfast were also very nice. The hotel is a little outside of Kandy but this was the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing and get away from the noise and car fumes. I also recommend booking...

Although the hotel is 11km away from Kandy, we would stay there again on a next visit to Sri Lanka. The building is superb (a mixture of colonial style with local accents) and set in lush tropical surroundings. The manager is very helpfull and proud of the hotel. He showed us arround in the place: to have a look at...
