Absolutely beautiful picturesque hotel - when you come down the driveway it looks absolutely gorgeous. Set in beautiful gardens with a fab patio terrace where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst taking in the amazing views over Gloucester . Check in was very efficient and we felt really welcome. After checking we went to the bar for a...

We stayed at the Hatton Court hotel for a 2 day break organised via “Off Peak Luxury Hotel Breaks”.The price included two dinners (total “allowance” £130), so in total the overall package was very “well priced” I've graded the hotel “average” but it really it should have been “very good” in parts and “poor” in others. Firstly the good points...

Externally this hotel promises character and splendour. However, we left after a one night stay feeling tired and let down. Internally, much of the fabric and furnishings were tired and lack lustre. The bar in particular was uninspired and rather 'utility' styled. It also failed to offer any draught bitter, having only one lager and one cider on tap. On...

Room very comfortable, plenty of space, nice touch as well as tea & coffee with plenty of milk, the fridge...

Stayed a Sat and Sun night. Executive room, very nice. Traditional country house hotel in a lovely setting. Tara restaurant provided excellent food, and was busy. Tall (I don't know his name, Eastern European I think) waiter was excellent- a total credit to the hotel. Reception staff also just lovely. Thank you.

We stayed for one night after a function and had a lovely room with a huge, comfy bed, a and a very fine bathroom. The plumbing appeared to be original and looked great, although the top of a tap was missing and some of the tiles were cracked, but it still felt very luxurious. There was a well-stocked mini bar...

The hotel has a grand presence as you come up the drive. Reception was friendly and welcoming. The bar staff was relaxing with friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable and a nice selection of teas and coffees. The restaurant food was delicious although portions were small and I would recommend ordering side dishes. The breakfast menu was comprehensive and service quick...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. ... more   less
