After an initial false start with a couple of issues which were immediately put right I can say that our two nights at a Hatton Court were very enjoyable and even though there was a wedding on Saturday, which was lovely, it had no affect on our enjoyment, the restaurant both evening and breakfast were very good especially the breakfast...

We found Hatton court hotel to be the perfect venue for our wedding. The choices of wedding packages were good value and the planning team took a lot of the stress out of the day. We couldn't have been happier with how the whole day went, our guests were very complimentary of the venue, the food and the rooms. Many...

Great hotel within easy reach of the M5 near Gloucester. Very reasonably priced with comfy rooms and a good restaurant. Also very quiet. Highly recommended for business travellers but also couples and families.

What should have been a nice relaxing stay turned into an absolute disaster where we settled for a very small room with a leak in the ceiling after being moved rooms 3 times. Only had car park views from the room. Go at your own risk !!!!!

First impressions on arriving were very good. Sadly went down hill from then on. We waited to check in, which was not a problem. Before we checked the couple that had just checked returned and complained about the condition of the room they had been allocated, stating it was damp had wall paper peeling off the wall and was generally...

Dear Alan, Thank you for your review, it maybe one of the most inaccurate and misrepresented reviews I have read. Please see my comments below. Our bedrooms with the exception of 3 are completely refurbished and they are priced accordingly. As with over hearing most conversations generally are not as bad as many people repeat. Some do have trees or...

This place needs to revisit what it exists for. If it's to intimidate guests on arrival (gestapo concierge), screw up guest's evening arrangements by forgetting to order a taxi given an hours notice, wrenching off guests wrist muscles wrestling to open the room door sprung like a bear trap, clattering into the guest's gentle Saturday morning breakfast with the noise...

Dear Mel G, It is always a disappointment to read a negative review however I found this review in particular difficult to digest due to the impolite references made towards an individual member of staff. I apologise that some areas of your stay were a disappointment and of course I will investigate with the team and make changes and improvements...

I booked the trip as a present and decided to put some money towards drinks. The reception staff were happy to take my card details. Unfortunately when my son and daughter-in-law arrived and assumed that the drinks were paid for they were unable to find a member of staff that knew anything about it. I tried to contact the management...

Absolutely beautiful picturesque hotel - when you come down the driveway it looks absolutely gorgeous. Set in beautiful gardens with a fab patio terrace where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst taking in the amazing views over Gloucester . Check in was very efficient and we felt really welcome. After checking we went to the bar for a...

We stayed at the Hatton Court hotel for a 2 day break organised via “Off Peak Luxury Hotel Breaks”.The price included two dinners (total “allowance” £130), so in total the overall package was very “well priced” I've graded the hotel “average” but it really it should have been “very good” in parts and “poor” in others. Firstly the good points...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. ... more   less
