Like I say, this hotel is at a reasonable standard for its rating and cost, but that doesn't mean that we were blown away. The building, once a stately home, is an odd amalgam of styles, as bits were added over the centuries with little attempt being made to blend new with old. This seems to have been carried over...

Just got back from a night at Bowden Hall. We got a deal on Secret Escapes. Guess you get what you pay for! The communal areas are lovely. The room was very dated and dark with only a double bed. We ordered 2 scones and tea in the afternoon which cost us £16 not worth it!! We had dinner inclusive...

Although the hotel does look a bit tired in places, we found it to be the perfect choice for a relaxing few days away. It was our silver wedding anniversary and we were upgraded to a huge room with a big four poster bed. This was a total surprise and we were both overwhelmed by the gesture. The staff were...

My husband and I stayed at Bowden Hall for two nights over the Easter bank holiday. travelling to the venue via taxi, the driver described it as a hotel on the top of a hill with not much around it, but also said it was in the "posh" part of town. We pulled up to the venue which was looked...

Revisited this hotel which we have had many family gatherings at over the years. We stayed in the very large honeymoon suite room 442. It's a little dated but is being renovated soon we heard. Brought back fond memories from our wedding 12 years ago. The hotel lounges, lobby, bar and restaurant have all been refurbished to a wonderful standard....

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay dinner first night. Both my wife and I have stayed at this hotel before just over a year ago for our Anniversary and they didn't disappoint us. Booking in was quick and easy and we reserved a table for 7.15 pm we both had a 3 course meal which we both enjoyed....

This was a Secret Escapes 2-day short break. The hotel has a good-sized car park and is nicely situated just outside Gloucester. It's a little bit round-about to get there from the M5 but that's no big deal. The reception area is modern and slightly sparse. The check-in process was quick and efficiently handled by the smiling and friendly Elisa...

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago with friends. Hotel is nicely tucked away behind residential properties. Very warm welcome, no complaints regarding the rooms, although it was a bit of a maze to find them initially. Very comfortable and inviting atmosphere within the hotel, bar and lounge which were lovely. Breakfast great, all hot plate replenished quickly. Had...
