Lovely property, setting and hosts. From initial queries via email to our stay nothing was too much trouble. Mirjam, Ton and Jacques were all very welcoming and hospitable. We were upgraded to a wonderful room- Le Mouton d'Or - with en suite bathroom and own entrance. We were also able to partake in dinner beautifully cooked by Mirjam. A very...

Wonderful quiet setting around 45 minutes' drive from Angers airport. The grounds are beautifully-kept and include a pool (good for cooling down) and a jacuzzi. The hosts, Ton and Mirjam, are the model of hospitality and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast included delicious baguettes and croissants and it was lovely to eat them on the tables outside. The local roads...

We planned this Loire cycle trip with friends for the last few months and it was incredible. Mirjam and the team at Le Mouton did everything to make us feel welcome and to make the entire holiday a great success. Cycle hire , Chateau visit , wine tasting...beautiful dinners and so much more. If you want to relax and chill...

From the moment we arrived at Le Mouton we knew it was going to be a special stay. We had booked one of the 5 safari tents for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and Coco the Sprocker spaniel. Before we even made it to to our tent Mirjam handed me a glass of Rose and told...

A five star rating doesnt do this quiet little haven justice. set in the beautiful french countyside nestled next to the loireriver le mouton certainly has a lot to offer, but it is the hostpitality and kindness of the staff at this country retreat that make it so special. this is the third year i have chosen to spend two...

Glamping in the Loire - just perfect. Admittedly the weather helped, but we have just had a lovely week glamping at Le Moutin, We were very reluctant to leave. The Safari tents are well presented, clean ( in 2nd year I think ), comfortable and well equipped. We even had our own toilet and shower. The 5 tents are nicely...

Our stay was amazing! From the moment Ton met us at the gate, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Le Mouton is a beautiful farmhouse retreat with a lovely garden, pool and hot tub. The breakfast was lovely and I would especially recommend paying for the gourmet dinner on offer- it was delicious with matching...

We stayed for 6 nights having originally planned 4; we extended our visit because we loved it so much we couldn't leave! We ate on two...

Three day break at this really great B&B in the heart of the Loire valley was truly memorable, great hospitality and the food to die for. I feel I have two new friends in Miriam and Ton who could not do enough to make my stay so enjoyable. Great terrace to enjoy breakfast and dinner and if I wanted lunch...

Miriam, Ton, David and the girls were such fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble and their generosity made our stay a wonderful experience. We stayed in one of the lodges by the lake, the lodge itself was fully equiped and very spacious for the three of us, the beds were very comfortable and the front deck was a great...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mouton" is situated in Port de Vallee, a tiny hamlet near Angers. It is a "longere" i.e. a long house, the oldest part of which is a tower built in the 17th century. It used to be an inn and a tollhouse for the river traffic on the Loire. A century later the current livingroom and kitchen were added. A very extensive terrace is at the front of the house. Breakfast and dinner are served there. There are very comfortable couches and chairs. ... more   less
