We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our stay at The Royal Hotel. The proper colonial veranda is a great place to start and have drinks. After checking in, we went to the very modern and super clean rooms. Bed was really comfortable and the large bathroom was fantastic. The air conditioning is also powerful. Definitely have dinner here because...

Although I have heard a lot about this hotel, we stopped over for lunch. Food was ok but not the best. The hotel rates are very high per night at R2500 for two adults and a child is pushing it a bit. One has nothing to do all day. But the hotel itself is a real gem

Beautiful old hotel that appears to have had a recent revamp. The front verandah is reminiscent of times gone by, seated in comfy colonial splendour. Their staff are what all establishments aspire to employ, people that really take pride in their jobs and go above and beyond. Lovely situation, beautiful accommodation and fabulous food. Highly recommended

We stayed here for 1 night and were very impressed with this little country hotel. On arrival we were told that we were welcome to carrot cake and tea on the stoep (terrace) at no charge and at 4.30 there was a 2 for 1 special on gins and tonic - all excellent Our room was across the gardens and...

We were 3 friends who booked for an afternoon tea at the Royal Hotel on Saturday, 1 April 2017. What an amazing afternoon did we have!! Friendly service and true value for money. When the tray of eats was brought out we were speechless ....enough for 6 people!! And everything was super delicious! Indeed an outing I can recommend.

Long verandah; wicker chairs - nostalgia! Comfortable, updated rooms. Old-fashioned courteous service; helpful staff - necessary as there are few concessions for the disabled (a not uncommon situation in South Africa). Riebeek Castille itself is in a bit of a time warp - delightful. The hotel restaurant, especially for dinner, is well worth a visit. The food was splendid.

We spent two nights in this beautiful hotel. Our room was sublime, offering a gorgeous lounge area, king size bed with crisp white linen and a gorgeous bathroom. Little touches like bath salts lovingly placed into a wooden bowl each day and home made choccies in lovely box coupled with a turndown service in the evening made our stay extra...

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were treated like royalty. The staff and rooms were fantastic. The rooms were well furnished with comfortable beds, snow white linen and fully air coned. The bathrooms were well fitted out including a large shower. Sun downers on the old fashioned stoop was so relaxing sitting on comfortable couches...

Went here for a late lunch on a very hot Sunday afternoon. We sat outside in the patio under a Bedouin or what you call those tight tents, covering the whole area. The hotel is very old but in good condition and I think they were adding more rooms and redoing the back yard because there was construction going on....
