SOMADEVI was originally the name of the Cambodian Queen who led Cambodia in the first century during the Khmer Empire Period. Based on her successful merits in making Cambodia the most well-known country in South East Asia in terms of society and infrastructure, her name continues to rise in the mind of today's Cambodian people. Therefore, we have taken her extinct name as our business brand name with the sole purpose of respect and worship.

We stayed in a Superior Room overlooking the pool. The room was nice but the bathroom was in need of a refurbishment. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was of a good standard and clean throught. We had all our meals at the hotel, the food and cocktails were good. There was a traditional dance show although we were not aware of it in time to get tickets, but had free viewing from our balcony. The reception area was large and welcoming. The restaurant was large, with buffet style breakfast with a large selection to choose from. There is a large swimming pool.

My wife and I stayed here for a week 14th to 22nd March 2020. If I could give star ratings for hotels I would give this hotel 5+ stars. It is fantastic.  Unfortunately it was quiet due to the covid19 virus, at times it felt as if we were the only people here, But even if we were the staff worked  amazingly their standards are really high.. From cleaners, gardeners, maintenance, waiters waitresses and the reception staff they can't do enough for you. It was my wife's birthday one day, when we returned to our room we found a message made of flowers on the bed plus they came to our room with a cake and sang happy birthday to her,,, "see photos" came back every day and the room was freshly made up..  Breakfast was massive so much to choose from even when it got really quiet and they did a set breakfast it was lovely Full English, cereal, bread basket, fruit, tea coffee juice… we didn't have an evening meal as we went out every day/evening, but they changed the whole restaurant for evening times and it looked lovely. Pool area was immaculate always someone sweeping cleaning watering flowers ect.  The hotel is only about 20mins from angkor wat. Fantastic day had a tuc tuc from the hotel pick up at 4.30am if you want to see an amazing sunrise.. Top tip get yourself a guide there are loads as you walk to the entrance he started at $35. Finally excepted $15 but we gave him $20. Bearing in mind it was very quiet… we have photos of just me and my wife and the hole of angkor wat in the background. Normally thousands of people there… Pub street is about 10mins walk away.. Look it up its the place to go to.. To be honest we can't comment on the hotel if it was fully booked but I can only imagine the staff   would work just as hard if not harder..  We have stayed in many hotels around the world, not to bad ones, good ones, really good, and great ones, and a couple of fantastic ones this is up with the fantastic ones..  We have been to cambodia / vietnam a couple of times now so won't be coming back but if we ever did we would definitely stay here..

First thing i need to say about this hotel is that the staff are awesome especially Khemara on the front desk. We stayed here on the advice on some friends we met in Phnom Penh and is about the best recommendation that we have received. The Hotel is large with a massive pool and swim up bar. The Grounds are immaculate. The Breakfast is probably the best that we had in the 6 weeks away. The room staff were always on hand to help if you required anything. It is a short walk to Pub Street and close to all the Temples and attractions.( you need to check out the Apopo rats - Hero rats that find landmines is a must). 100% I will be coming here again. There is an excellent Buffet with a show for a very reasonable price every night. We stayed only about 5 days but was still 2 days longer than we were going to.

Great hotel and worth money! We stayed here. It's very strategic. It's about 9km from both the airport and Angkor Wat. They have 10 minutes to access to Pub Street is very easy recommending for walking. Room is very clean, in the bathroom was clean. The water was flowing from the shower as well. There are no door per say that divide the bathroom, toilet and sink so you have to be very comfortable with the people you are staying with. A part of the room smelt of fish when we first entered but it went away. The swimming pool is deep and clean. There is have many voice of buffet for breakfast . Taste is absolutely fine. Service is best. They were very accommodating to some of my special requests. Read less

I did not stay at this hotel but came only for dinner and the Aspara show. The dinner buffet was excellant with lots of choices, and it was a beautiful setting by the huge outdoor pool. I thought the show was very good, colorful costumes, talented dancers, excellant live music. At the end you were allowed to pose with the cast which a nice touch. A great way to enjoy Cambodian food and culture!
