Reviews summary

Ascos Coral Beach Hotel enjoys a favorable location near Coral Bay, with guests frequently praising its proximity to beaches and local attractions, albeit some deem it a tad isolated. While the hotel's cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with several guests highlighting immaculate rooms against complaints of inconsistency, the staff is often lauded for their politeness and helpfulness, despite occasional slow service. The rooms' conditions are a point of contention; some guests appreciate the views and cleanliness, yet others find them outdated and neglected.
The pool and views are well-liked amenities, but the evening entertainment and dated decor have received less enthusiasm. Moreover, questions about value for money are raised, especially concerning the food, drinks, and facilities.

Detailed Reviews
When first turning up at this hotel it did not like the photos advertised and when greeted we were given a plate of moldy bread and fruit. When walking to the room the carpets had multiple dirty stains on them and our key cards didn't work however when we actually got into the room after about 20 minutes of checking in and sorting out room entry the rooms were lovely! As a group of 4 lads, we were put in 2 rooms next door with joining doors which we could leave open for our stay. The view from the balcony was lovely and the entertainment at the night was also very good however more music could have been used after the entertainment left. Being able to jump in the pool was a nice surprise as most places are very funny about this. Food was one of the only letdowns as even though there is the variety it was not very nice overall. Alcoholic cocktails were also made too strong and when asked for more lemonade in them or less alcohol this did not change the taste due to maybe a language barrier.

We'd booked for a group of 6 adults for a 14 night stay at the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel mid May. Arriving at the hotel late on the evening of arrival we were quickly booked in to our rooms and given a plate of food. This consisted of a sandwich of Cheese and ham and also some fruit. The room was a sea view and balcony, and very clean and spacious with twin large single beds pushed together. I had a colour tv, kettle, mini fridge, safe, and hair dryer. A large bathroom which had a bath, with shower blind, bath towels, hand towels and a floor towel. What we thought should have been included was a bath mat as the bottom of the bath was quite deep and narrow and when standing for a shower you felt a little unsteady as if you could slip. The food at the hotel both for breakfast, lunch and evening meals was of quite a high standard and offered a good selection with most meats and a fish selection changing each day. Drinks during the day (10am - 6pm) served at the pool bar then there after severed in the lounge bar until 12pm again plenty of choice but no Ale just Lager beers. All the hotel function rooms were clean, but we did not like the seating in the dinning room, a bit saggy on the bottom. The swimming pools, gym etc. all very clean and a lifeguard was in attendance from early morning to late afternoon. Our biggest complaint was the hotel entertainment which was not so good. All in all very satisfied with the Hotel, our rooms and the facilities. Coral Bay is a small lively town with shops bars and eateries, with plenty of place to hire a car should you want to. Paphos Town is about 20 minutes drive or a 35-40 minute bus ride which is about 3 euro's per person return. Buses run about every 5 to 7 minutes but do get busy and full.

Like many others we were really worried about this hotel after reading so many poor reviews but I can honestly say it is no where near as bad as others have said. We arrived after 2 days of storms so our first impressions were not great, the areas around the pool looked messy and we thought omg!! However after realising they were recovering from a couple of days bad weather, and the staff were out clearing up the next morning we then got a true picture of the hotel.
Food was good, lots of choice for lunch and dinner, breakfast the same most days but lots of choice, full English, choice of eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bread, toast, loads to choose from. Could be better for kids, if your picky don’t go! There is no reason for anyone to go hungry here (unless you are that picky with what you eat!), you get breakfast, hot snacks, lunch, hot snacks, afternoon tea, and dinner. Ice creams are also available from 10-9 daily which is fab for the kids (and adults!).
Pool area nice, no issues with getting sun beds, pool bar was closed on the first day due to a fire but opened again on day 2 so drinks were easily accessible all day. Pool was a little cold but this is to be expected, inflatables are fine, diving in no issue either, there is a volleyball net up for use too. Pool is quite deep but shallow areas at each end.
Drinks available all day, yes they are VERY heavy with the alcohol at times, some bar staff are better than others, but they all speak fairly good English so will make drinks how you like them. Good selection of drinks available in the all inclusive so no issues there!
We found staff ok, some people may think they are rude but I can honestly say we didn’t find this. We had a family room and we asked for an extra bed which they were happy to provide, along with extra pillows when we asked. Our fridge didn’t work but a word with reception and it was replaced the same day. The bar staff and waitresses work long hours and in my opinion do a good job.
Rooms were cleaned daily and towels were also changed daily.
Evening entertainment is pretty non existent but the strip is a 5 minute walk from the hotel where there is a selection of bars, restaurants and shops (not cheap though!) and the beach is 10 mins walk away.
Yes this hotel could do with a bit of TLC as in places it is looking a bit tatty, but let’s be fair, they are recovering from no income during covid and it will take them a bit of time, the cracked steps, chipped paintwork and the odd broken chair are not things that are going to spoil your holiday. If you want 5* go to a different hotel!

I’m going to be honest with you, this hotel is disgusting . The rooms DO NOT get cleaned there are about 4 options for each meal of the day e.g. breakfast, dinner, tea. We payed for all inclusive and they’ve tried to charge us each day for each meal after we have told them plenty of times and explained politely that we are all inclusive. They tried to charge us €40 for FREE WiFi we made sure it was free and they told us it was free. All staff leave at midnight so if anything goes wrong and you need help, it’s tough there’s no one here. I was ill all week probably due to the lack of food options and how discusting the food was so I didn’t eat all week other than English crisps and snacks we got from the shops. Water is NOT FREE, all I’ve needed all week is a bottle of water and no it’s €5 euros for a small bottle of water. Rooms don’t get cleaned, bed sheets don’t get changed, never got a refill of toilet roll or fresh towels. The whole hotel personally is unsanitary, do not eat the fruit, the fruit always has flies/bugs eating it like the rest of the food just left out. They reuse food e.g the fruit and chips absolutely vile. Staff are blatantly rude and just ignore you for example when having a meal I asked for a drink and one of the female members of staff was stood doing nothing and she just went “no wait” overall I do not recommend this hotel and please check reviews on all platforms before hand we only checked reviews on their website which was a big mistake as I’ve come on here and reviews are shocking. Do not come here for your own health and wellbeing!

We have just returned from a great week here and cannot understand why so many have written bad reviews, we meet lots of people saying the same thing.
Yes the hotel is a bit dated, but that doesn't make the place awful.
We arrived Saturday afternoon and were greeted by a lovely lady on reception, after we'd got over the fantastic view from the main lobby. Check-in was quick and easy.
Our room was very clean, we had a seaview and had plenty of storage space for our clothes.
Rooms were cleaned everyday, with clean towels left, our bedding was changed a few times too.
We aren't snobby so didn't do any inspection where we could find a negative, our aim was to have a good time.
Staff were all friendly, mainly because we were friendly to them working so hard.
There was a queue at the bar, but because people were ordering several cocktails at a time which had to be made,
I witnessed several people being very rude to the staff, which isn't what they are there for, they work hard for low pay in a very hot climate, they are human beings.
No issues with food, we always found something and some times had a few different dinners in one sitting as I couldn't decide what I wanted. It is standard AI buffet food, not a five star Al le Carte which I think some people expect, but this is lemonade prices, not champagne.
There were so many lovely people at the hotel who interacted and made the evenings ok, one evening there was a singer she was really good, another a man was entertaining us, he got us joining in, nobody wanted it to finish, but sadly the Entertainment woman (Samantha) wanted to go home, so she was booed,
The pool was amazing,
We heard the hotel has recently been bought, so I'm sure it will be closed for a bit for a refurb, and be too pricey.
We would return, as it was a decent place.
Make your own minds up as we did,, we went on holiday to enjoy a pool, relaxation and sunshine.

We have just returned from Ascos, we certainly enjoyed our holiday. Room was clean & food good, partner just missed snacks at lunchtime ie burgers being diabetic not much choice of sugar free drinks diet coke was from pump & mix was not right so only could drink water. We always managed to get sun loungers but si frustrating the amount of people that get down early to put their towels out & don't show up or just to take their towels back, so unfair
Most of the safe were really friendly & made time to chat but guy at pool bar was so miserable he really let's you down
We are hoping to return next year

On arriving at the hotel at 11.30pm tired we were met by an arrogant little bold man
On reception great front of house attitude I don’t think. We then went to our room Which was clean basic but good enough. The decoration around the hotel is poor the cleaners don’t really clean they just wipe and go. We put rubbish in a bin on our landing it took a whole week nearly for it to be emptied food was average always some thing to eat. The hotel is vastly under staffed queues at the bar for 20 mins to get a drink. At the end of our holiday our flight was a night flight 10.30pm we asked to extend our room and was told no was as the cleaners finish at 4.00pm ??? Who employs these cleaners I thought they were there to do a job ?? At lease 6 or 7 couples ask and got the same answer and at 35 euros an extension over 7 days a week that’s a lot of lost revenue no wonder they can’t afford to decorate tail wagging the dog springs to mind. But if you can put up with the above you will have a good time. Ok that’s the negatives now the positives our room over looked the Mediterranean great view 5 min walk from coral bay town loads of restaurants and shops.

Pleasant stay, but food choices could be improved. Receipts should be given for refundable deposits.
We have visited Cyprus and Paphos in particular, many times over the years. We stayed at Ascos Coral Beach from 27th August - 3rd September. The hotel is nice, in a lovely location and the pool is clean and a pleasure to swim in. Our room was sea view as booked and was clean and comfortable with fresh towels daily. The hotel however, was let down by the limited choice of food, which was not very warm, although the drinks were absolutely fine.
Most staff were friendly and efficient, but the older lady in reception did not seem to enjoy her work. On the first morning, we told her that we were with Jet 2 and asked for a code for WIFI. She told us that she was unable to help us, as she had broken the computer. We then asked about pool towels and were told that it was 10 euros per towel, which was refundable on return. My husband handed over 20 euros and we were given two towels.
On the last day, we handed back our towels to the same lady and waited for our 20 euros refund. The lady then produced a book of names and asked if our names were there, which they were not. We reminded her that she had not shown us any book when she took the money from my husband, but she said that she could not remember any money being handed over and therefore could not refund our 20 euros.
Can I suggest that the hotel gives a receipt for payments received, which can be returned with towels for refund. This experience was quite disappointing,

The hotel needs recommendations immediately!! We stay 2 nights at ascos hotel, the pool was ok not the sunbeds because more than the half sunbeds were broken, the bartender in beach bar did not speak English. The breakfast was poor, the launch disappointing but the dinner was very nice! The other couple who were with us, made a reservation for 1 night by phone (called the reception for reservation) and when they arrived they were informed that they have to pay for 2 nights, due to the domestic tourism system, the minimum stay is for 2 nights and they have to pay 2 nights without first being informed that there is a minimum of 2 nights booking. Im not recommended to anyone. There are much better hotels....

When booking the hotel i was very spectical due to the reviews but overall i was actually amazed. We got in around 12am and there was staff waiting and ready to greet us. They was very kind and was even given sandwiches and fruit which i thought was a nice touch. We stayed all inclusive, the bar was open pretty much all day, the food was good but it was fairly limited but did have all the basics even for fussy eaters like me. Only a 5 minute walk to the strip and a 15 minute walk to coral beach which was really good because we knew we could go at any time and it wouldn’t matter. It was about 30 minute bus which only cost 1.50euros which was really nice when going to the mall and the harbour. The room and hallways are heavily criticised but i don’t know why, the cleaners are there everyday and clean at a very good quality, the rooms are basic but also very nice and the reality is, we was never in the room because it was 35 degrees outside so it was perfect for us! We didn’t book the sea view however still had a very nice view and still could see the sea a little. The pool was huge, always had seating and was also a very nice temperature to keep cool in the sun without freezing. There was even a walk down to a green covered in palm trees which faces the sea and you get a really nice sunset. I think the hotel was very nice and i wouldn’t listen to the miserable reviews picking out small issues. You get your moneys worth, there are tons of stuff near the hotel because of the good location. I would 100% recommend and wouldn’t definitely go again.
