BATU BATU is a rustic private island resort set amongst coconut groves, rocky outcrops and fine sand beaches on the tropical, uninhabited island of Pulau Tengah, Malaysia in the South China Sea. This simple resort is built from a variety of hard woods in the style of a Malay “kampung” or village. BATU BATU welcomes families with children. Whilst on Pulau Tengah, adults and children alike can enjoy the island’s eight white sandy beaches, snorkel or dive amongst its colourful coral reefs and kayak or walk around its 3km perimeter. The open-sided pavilion restaurant and bar has 270-degree views across the sea and serves delicious European and Asian dishes. Guests can choose to relax with a cold drink at the Beach Bar, soak in the sea, play on the large white sand beaches or embark on an adventure through the island’s dense forest.

Travelled with a larger group, and the journey from Singapore --> Mersing was marred by unprofessional third party transport service + seasickness. Once we arrived at Batu Batu, the very friendly and helpful island staff and the amazing view made us feel a little better. When

Beautiful getaway resort 3.5hrs from SG - amazing but definitely room for improvement. The 3 x daily full board meals were too much for me & I am not sure this is needed. The quality of the meals however was fabulous. The evening meals were very impressive for quality and

Hello, It is great that you send us your comments and suggestion and we are definitely take good note of it A few responses to your queries : Our gardeners job task are to climb the trees daily to plug the coconut and it is a skill that we praise and charge 6$ Singapore, we took note that you like to have an option to have it refrigerated as an option. We do have some soft music at the beach bar on guest request as some prefers the sound of the sea and nature. Sorry that the Staffs and Guest mini football match activity disturbed you, we shall go further away to do that from now own. Sometimes sea tide can bring all sorts of rubbish on our beaches, our gardeners and Marine conservation team collect them every day, they are sorted and send weekly to a recycling factory in main land but still we do have some from time to time and do extra fun beach cleaning activities with our guest and Kids every Sunday Environmentally friendly, we do not use daily 1 time use plastic item like toothbrush in our bathrooms but refillable shampoo and bath gel bottles. Sorry we do not have TV channels but only DVD players with free movie available on request at our front desk, perhaps that's why you did not found any programs. Once again thank you so much to give me the opportunity to read you and rest assured that the Batu Batu team had taken immediate steps to follow up on your comments & suggestions Best Regards C.Thiry

This was described to us as the Maldives of south east Asia. I’d dismissed this comparison as coming from someone that’s never been to the fabled Maldives archipelago, but it in all honesty as you pull into the jetty at Batu Batu, the similarities are there to see. The

Thank you very much for your wonderful review, the team is happy to know that their service is appreciated. " bottles of wine as the resort restaurant are charging Singapore wine prices." unfortunately the Alcohol and wine taxes in Malaysia are at about 150% and out of our control, however we are offering a wide range of red and white wine starting from RM 170.00 per bottle ( around 50 $ Singapore) "hot water availability was very inconsistent and usually was just warm at best." In our Green environmentally efforts, we are using solar water heating system and the water wont be as hot as an conventional electric ones but warm to hot depending on the sun shine. Hoping to have you with us again soon we send you a warm thank you. The Batu Batu Team

Hi LW, Thank you for your interest to stay with us. Our meal plan cycle is based on the number of nights you stay with us so e.g. you were to stay 3D2N, we will only charge 2 cycles of RM 290 /adult (RM 580 in total) and RM 145 /child (RM 290 in total). Returned scheduled boat transfers cost RM 140 /adult and RM 95 /child. If our boat schedules do not comply to your traveling plans, then you do have the option to hire a private charter but this is subjected to boat availability and tide levels at the river mouth at the hour requested. There are certain hours in the day where tides are too low for boats to sail and out from the river mouth. If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us directly via email or phone and we will be happy to help.

Dear Sylvia, Thank you for your interest to stay with us on our little island. Yes, we do provide free wifi at Batu Batu although it is not always perfect given our island location… In December 2015 we updated the technology used to bring internet to the island (beaming it over from mainland) and have found that it works best if we restrict wifi to the public areas of the resort. This means that wifi is in general much more stable but we no longer provide wifi in individual villas. Should you like to use mobile datas instead, local telcos like Maxis and Celcom works best on the island but as the communication towers are located on other island around us, there may be certain parts of the resort where you may only get little signal. If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to drop us an email or give us a call. We look forward to having you with us at Batu Batu. Best regards, Reservations Team @ Batu Batu

"Jungle room quiet, set back so no one passing.CA very snug, literally JUST for sleeping 2 kids on bunkbeds. Felt claustrophobic."
"The beach Villas are definitely the best for families."
"N1-N2 and S1-S5 are closer to the main restaurant"
"jungle rooms have a lot of steps which might be bothersome to less mobile guests."
