Detailed Reviews
I have a high expectation after listen to this hotel's name. But, when I reach there, it looks like a haunted hotel. The environment is not welcoming. Their dessert is great. But, I'm so afraid to stay at the hotel for a long time as it looks creepy. They should do something to make it more lively.

Its not a bad place if one solely came to play golf. The hotel itself is spacious with empty rooms, not many activities as mentioned in their website. Just golf, driving range and pool. Not crowded at all, this hotel would best suit couples wanting some quiet time or a group of golfers. Food buffet was basic ,and room service menu wasnt overpriced, serving both local and western cuisine. The bedroom was basic, air conditioning powerful and good, toilet and furniture was old. No real need for refurbishment as the hotel hardly sees many guests. It is really an inexpensive hotel tucked far away from amenities, shops and main town. Staff were helpful. Wifi was fast.

We visited (late Sept-2015) only for golf though glad to see that it is also a mini resort place, with quite a nice pool.
It is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Penang Island, by car. Not very hard to find if you have navigation system, especially.
The registration counter is located in the shop facing parking lot. You'll get locker key & towel there also. The snag is some keys are not working & not very convenient to swap, especially if you were in ladies changing room. Facilities are really not well maintained for some reasons though the golf course is very well maintained. Nice green and fairways, I must stress.
The restaurant only has a lady when we were there, who was very helpful n friendly. The open section has superb view of the course with great breeze. Definitely a top class restaurant with the proper investment. Meals tasted not too bad too.
The caddy master was quick n efficient n had kept safe my camera which fell off my bag after we returned the buggy until I realised n ran back for it. Whew.... otherwise, I would have lost my precious photos memory.

Room was okay, but overall the hotel is not maintained to its best condition, for example the swimming pool was full of dead bugs on our arrival date. But it got clean up the next day, our kids enjoyed it a lot.

Stayed two nights in this stately colonial styled three-storey hotel for a conducted workshop. This hotel is a good retreat and away from the nearby towns of Gurun[10 minutes’ drive away] and Sungai Petani [15 minutes’ drive away]. So for workshops and seminars, there will less distractions. The hotel is on 100 plus acres of land with a 27 hole golf course [currently on 18 hole can be played]. It has some 80 air conditioned rooms with access to limited satellite channels [Astro]. No Wifi available in the room but was only available at the reception area [very weak Wifi reception when we were there]. Overall the hotel which is more than 20 years old, needs sprucing up. In the ensuite room which we occupied, the bathroom’s wooden door was rotting and the sink area was badly stained. The shower tap for hot water was malfunctioned. Towels provided for the first night had a musty smell. Room was badly lit especially at the reading table. Coffee making facilities were available and daily we were provided with 2 small complimentary drinking water. Lunch and dinner buffet was basic and nothing spectacular. Tea and coffee were dispensed from two very old plastic containers. If you do not have your own transport, you will have to request the hotel to book a taxi for your travelling arrangements.
