Detailed Reviews
We live in San Diego and visited the wine region for a weekend - 6 of us - renting 4 villa rooms. Rooms were great and the restaurants and facilities were great. It is a big property with different themed accommodation, so you either need a car to move between the areas or ask reception to drive you (golf buggies). We stayed in the villas near Hache restaurant, with pool, cafe and dining easily walkable in 2 mins. We had dinner at Canteras, near reception, where you would need a lift to get to. Both very good restaurants. Would recommend.

Check in was easy, the staff was professional and courteous.
Transportation was a breeze, he was knowledgeable of the valley and surrounding areas.
The meals at Cantera and Huevo Republic were absolutely delicious.
Hotel staff was nice and genuine, a true asset for this resort.
Room cleaning lady did not knock on the door, she just let herself in our room, and then bolted out.
Our room had a humidity issue, everything was damp at all times: toilet paper, walls, our shoes, clothes.
There is no TV in the room
Depending on where you are located, it can be a long walk, uphill, on a dirt road if you want to go to their restaurants.
What we paid for does not match at all with the fantastic pictures used to advertise the property, I was short-changed. Next time, I would book elsewhere and come here for the food and drinks.

We appreciate the comments that undoubtedly help us improve, these dates being the rainy season, it has been a bit difficult to keep the roads and facilities free of damage and humidity, we work every day to improve it, thank you again for your comments.

The room was nice. The loft rooms didn't have TV or phone in the room and the internet could be a bit sporadic at times. Services at the facilities are very good. Be prepared with covered shoes as most walkways are gravel or dirt. Location is very remote and hidden.

Our good friends hosted a wedding here, which prompted us to return to the Valle this year. We booked a Dinner reservation at Maglen without realizing that dining hours ended at 7PM. The reservation was for 6:30, and because it was early in the week, we were the last guests to arrive while the staff was cleaning up. Our online booking had not made its way to the staff.
Despite the miscommunication, Desi, who appeared to be the restaurant manager, made sure we were well taken care of. He prepared handmade cocktails for us and kept the restaurant open as late as we needed, promising us that the resort was "our house." All the more reason to come back to this region which offers great dining and beautiful views at a fraction of the cost of a European vacation.

+1
Great food and drinks. Room was clean plus the service request of extra blankets and towels was always met in a timely manner. The oyster by far was our favorite. Javi and the chef were phenomenal. The service and detail to food was incredible such a delicacy. Octopus tacos and grilled oysters are a must! The wine room was fantastic enjoyed the charcuterie board and wine tasting with Francisco who was very knowledgeable in each wine. The chilquiles are a must at the restaurant. Let’s not forget the coffee shop was exceptional Cute shop with plenty to buy. We would definitely return.

We were there in December and it was cold. The heater did not work. When we arrived they were "cleaning" our room. Left puddles of water in the room. We asked for the heater to be turned on as we couldn't get it to work. We were told they got it working, but our room never got above 50F. No extra blankets. The wifi turns off about 10pm. No one answer the phone after 10pm, The shower sprayed water all over the room so the towels got wet. The sink leaked so the floor under it had a puddle of water. The fake plant was caked in dust and dirt. All the surfaces had dust on them, even you could write in it and see it. Not enough wash clothes and towels. Sheets did not fit the bed, so they popped off during the night and I got bites from bugs.
I do think the place has potential, but it has a ways to go.

We had an amazing time. The grounds and landscaping were immaculate. We booked a standard villa and it was very big with plenty of space. The actual resort is very large over multiple acres so we had to drive to get breakfast. You get a $10 credit per person at Huevo Republic, which just happens to also be one of the most popular breakfast restaurants in the valley so it was VERY busy on Sunday so be aware and plan accordingly. The food was worth it though and the $10 covers most of the meal.
Near our villa there was a restaurant that was open late, a coffee shop (the chia lattes were amazing), and a bakery that sold homemade apple pies and cheesecakes that were very reasonable priced. I would highly recommend this resort and we can’t wait to come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Maglen! We stayed in the Tesela cabins. They are cute and located right next to the pool which was one of the reasons we booked our stay at Maglen. Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to use it. The property is very large and it is a long walk (we drove) to the various restaurants. The rooms were comfortable enough and we had no issues with hot water as other reviewers mentioned but the amenities are limited; only 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, no wash clothes, no bedside table or luggage racks to put down your bags. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

Our experience was great! Maglen is a lovely resort- very authentic Mexican style. We enjoyed our room on the hill near the pool. The room was spacious and very clean. The AC worked great! We tried all restaurants for breakfast - the food was delicious! The service fabulous! Eddie was our server for several days and couldn't have been nicer and helpful in suggesting menu items from the region.
Roberto was helpful and friendly as well. He brought us around to the other Maglen areas (golf cart) and made it a point to let him know if we needed anything.
You must try the brewery on site. I always enjoy tasting beer from other countries.
I look forward to staying here on our next trip to the Valle to try some new wineries and restaurants.

Old, terrible service, pool was full of insects, jacuzzi cold, coffee opens 8 am and staff arrived late the three days.
They say they have a gym but they don’t.
No food or service after 8pm
Please don’t let them fool you with their pictures
