We visited at the end of their season so things were very quiet. The pool was closed. The views are beautiful. The rooms are very big with adoration each end, so you can go the the parking lot or go out the other door to a fire pit area. The room has a kitchenette that we did not use. Desk staff was very friendly

This is a Mom and Pop place located in a field outside of Cooperstown. The rooms were more that adequate and clean. This would be a great place to bring a group with kids because there is plenty of room in the field for the kids to run around while the parents use the grills to cook dinner. Don't expect much in terms of their breakfast - bananas.apples and bars that look like they came from the corner gas station. But, the people who run the place are wonderful, kind and down home friendly. We would return.

We had our wedding at the August Lodge this September. Everything was absolutely amazing. From the views to the rooms to the staff. We had our ceremony and reception right at the lodge. The staff was accommodating and helped us every step of the way. We also booked all 25 rooms for our wedding guests. Every room was clean, tidy, and impressive. Our guest especially enjoyed the private balconies and patios with each room. The rooms were large, and allowed plenty of room for my wedding party and guest to get ready for the big day! We can’t thank the August Lodge enough for a truly incredible experience!!

This place needs a whole lot of updating and a lot of "elbow grease". This is not a luxury hotel. Unfortunately we had this for a week because our child was playing in a baseball tournament at the Dream Park. Their website looks great but in reality it is far from it. We found the "suite" in disarray. The shower stall bench area had built up dirt and had not been properly cleaned. The towels were worn and thin and not enough for the guests, the rooms were dirty, no broom, the frying pan had been burnt and not suitable to cook in, the spatula had built up burnt scorch marks, utensils were hit and miss and the utensil tray was filty. The microwave hadn't been wiped and cleaned. The sofa and chair were stained. the screen door was filty and the glass doors needed to be cleaned. The "night stands and end tables" were dirty as they were carved wood and dirt particles had settled in the grooves. We had to go to the office to get extra toilet paper (they would only give you one at a time, the same with any towels). We had to request dish soap, dish towels to wipe the dishes (only one at a time), plastic garbage bags. There was a worn and smelly sponge scrubber to wash dishes so we requested a new and clean one. An evening desk clerk insinuated that these things were in the room and did not believe us so he came up to the room to check it out! Uncalled for! The lighting in all rooms was very poor. The head manager/owner was not available because he was on "vacation". A fine time to be gone. We were all so disillusioned and very disappointed. It is a beautiful location but not worth it to be uncomfortable. The reviews really need to be updated as well. After travelling a great length of time no one needs to encounter such dissatisfaction. Sorry that I did not take any pictures to display and verify these conditions. Good Luck.

Beautiful small lodge near Cooperstown. We stayed two nights in this wonderful lodge. The rooms are quiet with a private patio or balcony. The views are amazing. Our stay was out of season, so breakfast was smaller than I expected. If we ever return to Cooperstown we will stay here again.

We went for a one night stay and were pleasantly surprised to find the positive reviews are all true. Rooms are spacious, kitchen and dishes are a nice plus and the decor was really pretty and added to the beauty of the property. View is gorgeous, location was quiet and the room and pool are very clean and well maintained. We stayed during Covid and social distancing guidelines were strictly enforced and followed by other guests. Staff was friendly and polite.

Although I travel a lot as part of my job, I rarely write in recognition of the service and amenities of the places I've stayed. However, our stay at the August Lodge the few days after Labor Day 2011 have been so completely enjoyable I wanted to send a note of thanks.
My 2 sisters and I stopped giving each other birthday and Christmas gifts several years ago, opting instead to find a way to take a few days off together and have a 'sisters vacation'. This year I injured my ankle a few days before our vacation and we decided to stay locally so I could get to doctor appointments, etc.
We were so very fortunate to have chosen the August Lodge. It is a beautiful place, so clean and comfortable. The staff were beyond accommodating, so pleasant and genuinely interested in ensuring they met every need or expectation. The rooms are clean, the hot tub and pool are exceptionally enjoyable given the beautiful setting. Although our area was experiencing extensive flooding during the time of our stay, we had a really great time at the Lodge. Thank you to Steve Stegman, our host, and all the staff we met during our visit.

We came to Cooperstown for the last week of the Dreams Park season. The twins and I stayed at August Lodge, my husband and son stayed at the barracks. The lodge was a perfect fit for us although on Saturday hurricane Irene made a direct hit on Cooperstown and it was a total washout with trees down everywhere and widespread power outages. The guys and the girls played cards in the lobby, we had fun and made the best of it. The rest of the week was ideal weather, 75 degrees and sunny. The lodge was so clean and comfortable, we really enjoyed ourselves and the boys snuck away from the park whenever they could to take advantage of the creature comforts. My girls loved cooking somores at the campfire. August Lodge hit a home run for us.

The location of this hotel is outstanding for Dreamspark. Nice setting and pretty hotel. Rooms are clean and good size.
Overall staff was very nice. One of the owners Steve is very odd!!! and can be extremely rude. Not at all happy about baseball families staying at the lodge.

Breakfast is simple but nice. Great Coffee

Pool is ice cold in the summer!!!!!!!!!!!

Still a very nice place in Cooperstown.

My husband and I were in a regular room. It had two double beds and would sleep four people. It also had a very small furnished kitchen.

We had the queen/queen room and it would definitely be large enough. I believe there is a small pull out in the room as well. The rooms are very spacious.

My room was updated and clean. Breakfast is just yogurt, muffins, juice, coffee and cold cereal. The rooms have a kitchenette with pots/pans and dishes so you can cook in there too.
