We stayed one night at this B and B outside village of Simiane-la-Rotonde. It is clean and room, while average, was comfortable. Best thing during hot weather with no a/c or fans is they have a screen on the window and the breeze coming in made for some good sleeping. The "family style" dinner was nicely served by the owner Bernard. He seems to do everything at the B and B and is very welcoming and helpful. He is a good cook too.... dinner was very good. I wanted to explore the village of Simiane which is really too far to walk (at least for me) and so went by car the next morning and had the village to ourselves. You can see the hilltop village from the hotel. A very charming and, as yet ,unspoiled Village. This area makes a good stop after Valensole and its Lavender fields...they are scattered everywhere in the area of the B and B but not right onsite. Recommend this place for an overnight or more...they seem to have many French return guests and I understand why. A... More

Although our room was very large, comfortable and reasonably priced the shocker came when on the bill we were charged 27euros for a bottle of house wine! As we arrived late and not knowing the area we chose to eat there - one large table shared with some delightful French ladies - the food was pretty average - first course sliced tomatoes followed by rice, pork chops and ratatouille. Again when we were charged 40Euros this seemed extravagant - even the ladies were astonished at the prices. Breakfast was repetitive; coffee, toast, honey and pain au chocolat . Bernard the part-owner/chef was very friendly and affable. Maybe alright for an overnight stay but no longer - we were booked in for a local family wedding for 3 nights. Nice location with horses, geese and dogs. Service was poor -our room was not made up or bins emptied during our 3 days stay. More
