Stayed in the room on the stoep. Hubby and I and our 3year old. Room was clean and comfortable. Open toilet and shower which I was fine with but hubby prefers more privacy. The decor is weird and wonderful. I loved that it is out of the ordinary. Host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast inside was a really pleasant...

En route from Namibia to the Cape we decided spontaneously on this guesthouse. No booking ahead, but one phone-call on the way and everything was organized. Anne met us at their front-steps and made us feel at home right away. The room was cosy and very clean. The beds nice and comfy. Next morning Anne surprised us with a delicious...

We are en route to nowhere towing our camping trailer but needed an overnight stop. Vanrhynsdorp was in the right place and we chose Talk of the Town. Mainly due to the one bad review about the decor which sounded right up our street! We love the quirkiness and the fact that the building is an old one. Anne the...

We stayed here in June 2010, and again now in June 2014 because of the 'vibe' of the old house and the personal service. In 2010 we woke up to the smell of fresh baked bread from the adjacent bakery and kitchen, but in 2014 the kitchen does not provide breakfast. This is now provided at a different location, the...

Staying in Vanrhynsdorp was not our 1st choice on a trip to see the spring flowers and accordingly this B&B was our 3rd choice of accommodation – even though we had booked in March ( we could not find accommodation in Nieuwoudtville where we had originally wanted to go ) The town really has nothing much going for it –...

Stayed here for 2 nights. What a lovely experience. We were treaded like royalty. We had our breakfast at the Muis Huis which is part of Talk of the Town. Muis Huis served a very nice breakfast and the service was very good. Taking into account that the Talk of the town is a very old house from the previous...

We booked in one of our business assistants by Talk of the Town last week for a business trip. Being advertised as a 4 star rated guesthouse, he came to a room that was very unpleasant and we had to remove our assistant immediately to a more decent place. Since when do you "Test" a client once his booked in...

“The rooms on the stoep are awesome. The stoep looks out on the street, but it is VERY quiet (saw perhaps 5 cars Saturday afternoon/ Sunday morning!). Across the road is the local supermarket that could potentially be noisy on a Saturday morning, but it had not been a problem for us during either of our stars. Alternatively there are rooms behind the main house in the garden.”
