I decide to book with my girlfriend at the Paradiso restaurant, looking for an elegant venue in Semnyak (not an easy task, but for which Paradiso proved to be fully capable). In fact, we returned the following day (photo of the environment also attached during the day).
Starting from the Whatsapp chat service, the staff was able to provide us with clear and timely answers to finalize our booking. The restaurant is designed down to the smallest details, from the spaces of the Potato Head hotel through which you walk to reach the restaurant, up to the chairs designed by an international designer. All details that architects like me and my girlfriend could only appreciate.
The dinner was accompanied by the knowledge and passion of Gus, a young but experienced waiter who was able to advise us down to the smallest detail for any choice. The attention to detail was also noteworthy in this area: glass glasses fresh from the fridge to serve the ordered New Zealand white wine, cutlery promptly replaced when accidentally dropped by the undersigned without the presence of dining room staff, the warning that the pizzas on the menu they are cooked in Roman style (few restaurants with Italian cuisine in Bali would have been able to provide this service).
We ordered a pizza to share as an appetizer, a local fish fillet and a tagliolini with meat sauce as main dishes. Each dish turned out to be the right choice (honorable mention for the pizza, which Gus explained to us was cooked by a chef with years of experience in Italian cuisine; the result spoke for itself).
The bill was not high for the service offered, not even considering the fact that prices in Indonesia are lower than those in Italy. We spent €106 between us, considering that: drinking wine, or alcohol in general, is expensive in Indonesia; the service offered was impeccable; you are inside one of the most beautiful hotels in Bali. Nowadays in Italy going out for dinner and spending less than €50 each for two courses + bottle is very rare, and an experience like the one we had at Paradiso is absolutely not guaranteed.
In conclusion, we recommend a visit to anyone looking for an evening different from the classic Balinese dinners and who has a love for the Beautiful and the Good.

We stayed here in June 2024. Upon check in we were offered warm towels to clean up after the trip and a welcome drink. We stayed in a rooftop suite, hotel staff escorted us to our room and gave us a tour of the suite. The subtle touches were very thoughtful. They have a cocktail recipe in the room along with the ingredients to make them. They also provide aloe, bug repellant, and some kind of creams in the bathroom that are made on site. The setup of the suite is very tasteful. We had plenty of space. We were able to work at the desk and dining table. There's a deep soaking tub in the suite along with 2 separate bathrooms. The rooftop has a complete dining set up as well as a sun area, a shower and hot tub. I want to make mention that although the rooftop is secluded and surrounded by plants so you can't be seen from another rooftop, there is a small staff walkway that connects the back of the rooftops together. The staff regularly uses the walkway to keep the rooftops clean so it's not completely private. We had a view of the sea from our rooftop as well as views of the pool. There's also a private balcony in the suite. There is a nice restaurant downstairs that provides a breakfast buffet but also does made to order dishes. We didn't partake in the buffet but we did order breakfast from the menu every day. They have an apothecary next to the restaurant that mixes wellness elixirs. I loved the one for digestion. The breakfast menu options were great and there was a lot of fresh fruit. However, they can make you something that isn't on the menu if you ask. We ate breakfast here every day during our stay except for the one day we ate at the beach club. We had a great experience and would recommend this resort.

We returned to Potato Head for the second time in June 2024 and it was exactly what we experienced last year nothing has changed. This is a truely 5++ star hotel in every aspect of their operation, it has been very thoughtfully set out and planned in an amazing spot right on the beach in Seminyak with the right formula particularly with the view of sustainability in mind, no plastic bottles in fact you are given a very cool aluminium drink bottle and reusable beach bag on check in, the grounds are spacious in size and immaculately kept, the rooms are very modern and have ample room in them all with some kind of nice view, two big bottles of complimentary mineral water and replenished each day, a complimentary delicious a la carte all you can eat menu running from 7am -11 am which is truely tasty and stunning. There is a very big beach front pool infinity pool with day beds surrounding it, also it has kids pool beside the main one and all overlooking the Indian Ocean, a magnificent roof top bar for drinks and snacks all while being a prime location for those amazing sunsets the west coast in Bali is renowned for. The Potato Head beach club is situated right next door all with a number of award winning restaurants within the complex. Lastly and most importantly I would like two acknowledge and praise ALL of the staff that I came across at this amazing hotel, everyone is so friendly and helpful and they certainly go out of their way to ensure you have the best time possible. I work in the service industry as a flight attendant for Air New Zealand and outstanding staff and impeccable service should not go unnoticed so I would like to give a shout out to Devi, Ina, Areni, Juni, Juni, (breakfast and check in) Yuni, Yuni, (breakfast and check in) Ima, Happy, Ari, Hendra, Mila, Yanna, Kadek, Agus, Indra, Au, and Marta. You all went above and beyond and certainly with a can do attitude. If you are to choose this magnificent hotel and all it has to offer you certainly will not be disappointed. We will miss this “amazing piece of paradise” so a very big thank you to everyone that is part of the Potato Head organisation, we hope to come back again next year for the third consecutive year. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

First off let me tell you about the amazing time we had in Seminyak prior to coming to Potato Head. We stayed in a private villa, nothing flash, just booked off AirB&B and we ate at some of the most amazing restaurants. Our favourite beach clubs to visit were Mrs Sippy and Finns.
We have been to Bali many times (usually staying @ the W which I highly recommend), and in the past we would always visit potato head for the day. We were so excited to see they now had accommodation and it was a no brainer to stay here!
We booked in the school holidays so prices were high, I got a non refundable deal of $1100 Australian a night for a “2 bedroom” suite. It was more of a sliding door but that part I could deal with. The rooms were dark and the technology was dated without streaming on their TV’s (our friend who stayed in the $350 per night studio had this technology but not the family suites). But the real disaster was when we went for breakfast on our first morning staying there. Don’t expect a lavish buffet and whatever you do, don’t have the chicken nasi goreng! You order from a very limited breakfast menu, and if I had of known I was going to be sick for 5 days I wouldn’t have orderd anything at all! My family weren’t far behind me, getting sick at the hotel the next day.
Also, the beach club isn’t what it once was. The music is dated and I get it, they are targeting families now with their accommodation but other clubs do it so much better. Newsflash, families still like a fun vibe!
The hotel knew I wasn’t happy with my stay, and I said outright to them it wasn’t worth the money they were charging. I would have expected a discount considering they got us sick and we spent the majority of our time at their hotel either in bed, or on the bathroom floor. They offered me a ride to the airport to compensate. Many thanks for my $30 ride and for the recycled plastic brackets you give your guests when they depart. We won’t be back.

One of the best resorts I've ever visited. We booked 1 night because there was a concert happening in the Beach Club. My only regret is not staying longer.
This hotel is extremely hip and has a lot of hype — and it absolutely lives up its reputation. But more than anything else, we were absolutely blown away at their environmental commitment. The resort is built from baked coconut shells, food deliveries arrived in reusable containers like banana leaves, they've eliminated all single-use plastics, and you'll see recycled plastic (collected from tourist waste on the beach) used over and over again in the hotel's design. In your rooms, amenities are provided in glass containers. They offer you homemade sunscreen, aloe and insect repellant as well as an assortment of local liquors. all happening within an extremely high-end luxury experience. Other resorts should model themselves after Potato Head in terms of holding the bar high for both conservation and luxury.
We visited the Beach Club for a daylong concert, which was great. We ate at all the restaurants inside the beach club. I'm sure a lot of people stay here for the Beach Club access but we were more impressed with the resort's private pool, where you can lounge on daybeds all day long away from the crowds and busy-ness of the Beach Club. We enjoyed having access to this private space, and the ability to go back and forth between the resort amenities and club.
The sprawling resort pool is one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces I've ever been in. We also used the easy beach access to walk along the shore.
On our final day, we had midnight flight out of Denpasar — Potato Head offers half-day options so you can continue enjoying the resort facilities up until 6pm. We really appreciated their ability to accommodate us.
Since leaving Bali, I've been missing Potato Head every day. I can't wait to come back.

My three night stay was a refreshing experience. Beyond the amenities and commitment to sustainability, the genuine friendliness of the staff (Apsari and team) made every interaction personal and warm. The resort’s respect for nature, like the preserved old tree where guests leave wishes, added a special touch. Potato Head Bali truly feels like my second home! The staff here are incredible, and I want to give a special shoutout to Mbok Ratih (Ratih Yuni Afshari), Pak Andra (Sherandra Dwiavi Putra), and Pak Adi (Setiawan Dwi Nugroho). Their warmth, attentiveness, and commitment to making me as a guest feel welcome is something I always look forward to. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure every stay is memorable. I can’t thank them enough for making each visit so special!
I always stay at the Ocean Front, and it’s truly the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. I also want to give a special shoutout to the amazing housekeeper, Bli Tude (Tude Ariawan), and Bli Belly (Agus Belly). They always go the extra mile to clean my room just the way I like, even accommodating my special requests during my long stays. It’s the little things like this that make such a difference, and I always feel so comfortable and at home thanks to their hard work and attention to detail.
However, I did have an unfortunate experience with Fisch. I noticed that she was only attentive and kind to foreign guests, which made me feel unwelcome. I hope the management addresses this to ensure all guests feel equally valued, regardless of where they’re from.
Despite this, Potato Head remains my favorite spot in Bali, and I can’t wait to come back again soon!

This was genuinely the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The facilities are brilliant, I stayed in both the Sunset Studio and Ocean Front and was really impressed with the beautiful detail put into both rooms. The complementary water bottles are a welcomed touch and it was nice to see Potato Head’s commitment to sustainability throughout our stay.
The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spotlessly clean, it truly was the perfect place to relax after a busy few weeks exploring the rest of the island. I loved the view from our Ocean Front studio, especially to watch the sunset with a beautiful cocktail made by our room’s bartender (free of charge).
There is a great range of activities and eateries in the resort. We did the Sound Healing session which I would highly recommend for a relaxing morning, and the Sunset Park for sunset drinks was really special. The Kaum restaurant was a particular highlight but all the food is to a really high standard.
What really stood out was the hospitality provided by the staff at Potato Head - they were all so genuinely welcoming and friendly. Every member of staff we spoke to was very happy to help with anything we needed and were enthusiastic in sharing their recommendations with us, whether this was their favourite dish or arranging a local taxi for our airport transfer. The team at Potato Head made it a really special and memorable stay for us, gratitude to them.

I can say with confidence that this is one of the best hotels ive ever stayed in. When you stay in a 5 star hotel, what separates the stay from others is the attention to detail, and Desa does that outstandingly. Staff always greeted us by our name, the overall design of the room including amenities were just on another level, we even got a tote bag and a water canteen made of processed residuals from the beach.
The only thing that we regret was not staying longer. Cant recommend it enough

The best hotel stay we have ever experienced. Desa Potato has a really unique design, a combination of Balinese traditional culture and a more futuristic style. We stayed at Desa Studio, our room smells nice, they gave us complimentary cocholate and cookies. Everything is made to be sustainable. They provide sunscreen and aloe vera in a refillable cups. Breakfast was amazing. We can have breakfast by the beach, it’s ala carte style but we can order as much as we want. The food are all delicious! You can get a choice of Indonesian breakfast or International breakfast. We were served by Hendra at the breakfast and pool area. He is really helpfull and hospitable, made us feel really welcomed. On the second day, my husband was sick and we were helped by Irene , she got him complimentary warm broth and she really cared about his wellbeing. Overall it was a really pleasant stay. Dear Isabela, yes we implement minimum spend in our daybeds, depending on the daybed type & timing. You may book in advance via our service center WhatsApp 0811-3800-7979. You can also come directly without reservation, however on busier dates some daybeds might be sold out.
