Embark on a journey of unparalleled luxury and celestial romance at Centara Grand Maldives, where dreams transcend into reality. Our recent 4-night, 5-day escapade to commemorate our decade of love was nothing short of enchanting. Returning for the second time to the Maldives, we were spellbound yet again by the sheer magic that envelops this paradise.

From the very moment we set foot on this celestial haven, the impeccable hospitality of the Centara Grand team embraced us like cherished guests of honor. Under the meticulous orchestration of Senthil and his adept team, our 'Renewal of Vows' ceremony unfolded amidst a setting straight out of a fairytale, leaving us utterly speechless and etching memories that shall endure a lifetime.

As if plucked from the realm of dreams, our accommodations were elevated to the pinnacle of opulence, with an upgrade to the most coveted category in the resort, complemented by complimentary libations on a full board plan. The majesty of the property is unparalleled, tending to every whim and fancy with effortless grace and charm.

Indulgence reached new heights at Reef, where each day unfolded with a symphony of flavors from around the globe, meticulously curated to tantalize the senses. With themed culinary extravaganzas each day, we embarked on a gastronomic odyssey, savoring every morsel with sheer delight. The bakery team's divine Almond croissants and sinfully decadent chocolate fudge cakes left an indelible mark on our palates, while the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked garlic naan, accompanied by succulent chicken and paneer, crafted by the virtuoso Indian chefs, transported us to culinary nirvana.

Special mention must be made of Ashik, the consummate waiter whose skillful conversations and impeccable service elevated our dining experience to extraordinary heights. His warmth and attentiveness left an indelible impression, turning each meal into a cherished memory. Additionally, our heartfelt gratitude extends to June and Mitchell, whose unwavering dedication and hospitality at Reef ensured that every dining experience was nothing short of perfection.

Furthermore, a heartfelt thank you to Prashani from the Camp Safari, whose expert care and nurturing touch transformed our little one's experience into an adventure of a lifetime. Her professionalism and genuine warmth made us feel reassured knowing that our 5-year-old son was in the best of hands.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Yuvraj, whose swift and efficient assistance with the last-minute extension of our stay exemplified the epitome of hospitality. His prompt action ensured that our time in paradise was extended seamlessly, allowing us to bask in the beauty of Centara Grand Maldives for just a little while longer.

Last but not the least, Faaiq the in-house photographer for capturing some great memories and helping us with going above and beyond.

To the entire Centara Grand team, our heartfelt gratitude knows no bounds. Your unwavering commitment to excellence transformed our anniversary celebration into a symphony of unforgettable moments. We depart with hearts overflowing with gratitude, eagerly anticipating the day when we shall once again be embraced by the warmth of your hospitality. Until then, Centara Grand Maldives shall forever hold a cherished place in our hearts.

I don't often write reviews, but felt the need to write a positive review for our recent stay here.

We stayed for 7 nights for our honeymoon/familymoon, with our 8 month old son. We stayed in the sunset view room with an upgrade to include access to "the club", which we feel was definitely worth it for access to the quieter pool with a young baby.

From the moment we arrived to the island, we were made to feel extremely welcome and all staff were so friendly and accommodating! This was true for all restaurants around the island, but particularly at the club. By the end of the week, we knew all the staff by name and vice versa, giving a real personal touch which really made the experience for us. Special thanks in particular to Jasmine - she was absolutely incredible throughout the entire week and somehow managed to act as both babysitter and waitress at the same time, with ease!

The room itself was stunning as you would expect, the pool in the room immaculate and the room service second to none.

The island was well maintained, and feels like true paradise with all restaurants / amenities only a 5 minute stroll away, at most.

I would not hesitate to recommend this resort for those on honeymoon or for those with families. Both somehow co-exist very well here! You can be as busy or as chilled as you like here as there are plenty of activities / excursions available, but also plenty of areas to relax!

We had a 4 night stay from 2/10-2/14 and it was a memorable stay to say the least. We were there on a vacation with our 3year old son.
We were originally assigned rm 44 but with our son we preferred a room close to the pool and kids activity area so they readily moved us to rm 110 and the location was absolutely perfect. Our house keeper Rubel was great and serviced our room twice a day. My husband joined Rubel and his colleagues for a game of cricket as well. Rooms are well equipped and include life jackets and flip flops.
The facilities are very clean and well maintained. The beaches are also amazing and well maintained. The fishes swim up to the edge of the water. My son stood in ankle deep water and could see the fishes and chased them around! We did the included snorkeling trip(2hrs), whale shark trip(4hrs). We didn't see any whale shark and ended up doing some snorkeling along the way. All the reefs are dead but there are variety of fishes to see. Guests cannot readily access the house reef and to go to the house reef you have to pay for a individual snorkeling trip wherein you are taken there in a boat but if the water is choppy they just take you snorkeling around the resort. Honestly i would recommend just snorkeling around the resort itself- there are way more fishes and many more varieties there.
My son loved the kids club and Ayesha was great with him. She was very caring and my son was very comfortable with her.
We are vegetarians and the executive sous chef Shane and his entire staff was amazing. They planned out all the meals for my son and made various dishes to accommodate us as well. Pramod, tripon ali and all other chefs at reef restaurant made various vegetarian items daily for us during breakfast. Infaz at Azzuri mare also made pizza during lunch for my son and catered it to the Thai restaurant since my son didn't like any Thai options.
We would like to say thank you to the resort staff and especially Shane and his team for making our stay memorable. We had a wonderful vacation and will definitely recommend this resort for anyone traveling to Maldives, especially with kids!

We have been to the Maldives many times but this was our first visit to Centara Grand.
The seaplane transfer went very well & we were made most welcome when we landed at the island. We were greeted with warm hospitality & a cold drink. After quickly checking in we were shown to our room. We stayed for 12 nights in a Beach Suite (no. 37) on the southern side of the island. These rooms have direct access to a private strip of beach which leads directly to the main beach & ocean. There is plenty of shade provided by the palm trees if required. You can also see the sunset.
It’s a pity that if you did go for a swim you then had to walk through the ground floor to get to the outside shower. Could a shower be fitted by the water-sports centre?

We had two issues with our room during our stay. Both were dealt with immediately and most efficiently. We would like to thank Inaz for ensuring the issues were addressed and Nasir our room boy for maintaining a very high standard of service.

We were also initially a little disappointed with the Breakfast Buffet in Reef and made comment on this in our initial survey. Again the issue was taken up immediately by Exec Chef Steve Hill, and his team most especially Infaz. We cannot thank Steve, Infaz and the team enough for the wonderful food we were presented with following our meeting. In particular, the food, drink and service in The Club and Azzuri Mare can only be described as top class. We would also like to thank Senthil and his team (Krishna, Jasmine & May) in the Club and Joi and Christine in Azzuri Mare for the wonderful service and entertainment.

Last but not least, thank you to Lax for always having our evening G&T ready with some friendly chat & to Roshan in the Coral bar.

The snorkeling here is good with plenty to see. For those rooms not close to the reef there are steps down into the ocean behind the diving centre. The daily fish feeding at the Coral Bar is definitely worth a look.

Centara Grand is a most beautiful island resort but it is the wonderful, sincere service provided by all the staff from the Management team to Room boys which sets it above other resorts we have visited over the last 15 years.

From the first moment I saw this resort I was captivated. The island is small but so beautiful and it inspires you to relax completely. Within a day or so I was walking around barefoot, totally chilled out, enjoying the peace of the place. My friend and I stayed in a family waterfront bungalow and, although it was a little tired, it was a great size and had a real charm. The staff are helpful and extremely friendly and I'd like to say a special thank you to the guys in the watersports centre who showed us the delights of snorkeling in the Maldives - they couldn't do enough to help and were such great characters it felt as though we were among friends. Nabeeh, Somun and Dhalley especially were kindness personified and the boat trips we took with them were experiences I'll never forget - swimming with Manta, turtles and whale sharks thanks to their vast knowledge and experience of the area. They were also very environmentally aware and extremely knowledgeable which made each experience fascinating.
The food was excellent on the whole and extremely varied - I can't imagine anyone not being catered for. The entertainment was very well done and the bar staff, again, were kind and very charming.
The only negative thing I have to say is that the resort is advertised as 'all inclusive'; for the most part it is but there are additional charges for silly things like a banana smoothie (7 dollars) or a carrot juice (10 dollars). Saying that, we had 800 dollars of spa treatments included with our package and 5 excursions which more than made up for the amount we spent on juice and smoothies!
I would recommend this resort to anyone who loves snorkeling or scuba diving or anyone who wants to really chill out and remember that life is all about the simple things! A big thank you to everyone at Centara!

As we arrived to Centara Grand, the staff was waiting for us by great smile , refreshing towels, cocktails juice on bar- warm welcoming. First good impression!
The villa on South Beach just infront of reception, was spacious, modern, spotless with sea views and very quiet. The large terrace just beside to room which provides you with the best views from balcony .
Breakfasts & buffet diner we had were delicious and Happy and Shamu was always friendly & caring. Very approachable.
We booked dives and whale shark snorkeling with the resort - good service with Amazing staff at best dive. Professional housekeeper who managed to clean twice a day my villa in beach , cater all my need , can't be fault a single things here .
The beach and garden at the front are well maintain, with chairs and sun lounge to relax or have a drink.
I used their laundry services, fast and reasonably priced , as there was promotion one bag full only 50 dollar , common u won't get anywhere in the world with such a price . Thank you Alok for convincing me to go for this promotion before I fly to home , now I am relaxed no more Hussle for the washing . Thank you Centara Grand for our stay and exceeded our experience , we will come back sure in future.

This was our second visit to Centara Grande Resort and Spa . From the moment we stepped off the sea plane we felt we had come home The welcome from the staff was above and beyond what you would expect from a commercial resort. We were looked after with every request taken care of with no fuss and in a timely manor. Our sand bank trip was a bucket list item and did not disappoint ; the set up ,the picnic and drinks were prepared with love and careened very much appreciated .The Spa also deserves a mentions a highlight with the calming environment and attention to detail its a must visit during your stay however long you are there for .Special mention has to go to some very special staff we had the pleasure of spending some time with would be : Christine the lovely sweet waitress we had the pleasure spending time with is always working with a smile and is totally engaging without being intrusive .. Azzam - Assistant F & B manger ( also a top photographer ) Amazing service and a genuine warmth from this young man . He is hard working and takes great care to deliver very high standards care while remaining personal and approachable. Dear Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Crew.
Our family has just returned to Denmark after a fantastic 9 night stay with you. It was our first time in the Maldives, but you made sure that it is not our last. Our little family has visited many places around the world, also 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts but never a place like yours. During our stay with you we often discussed what the difference exactly was and it came down to the incredible relaxed atmosphere that encapsulates the Island and the stay. Everything was as could be expected by a place with your rating but the relaxed and "No Stress" approach just made it all unforgettable. We only encountered friendly, polite and smiling service anywhere we went, but a few individuals stood out; Rubel from Housekeeping made sure that our Villa was spotless every single day, Thank you so much Rubel, you are a very nice person with a hard working mentality. (H)Appy whom we met at the beach dinner and in the Reef Restaurant, thank you for giving us a little insight to what the Maldivian lifestyle is like outside the Resort for the native Maldivian, it was a pleasure to meet you. The crew at Best Dives; Fabio, Charlie, Angus and Xenn. It was a pleasure diving with you, and you are by far the most adaptable and serviceminded dive center we ever dived with, thank you also for getting Gustav thru the Open Water program, he will never forget this holiday. Last but NOT least; The Club Crew. Senthel; you provided an outstanding service and hospitality throughout our entire stay. You made us feel welcome from the first time we set foot at The Club. You have a great sense of humor garnished with a little irony and sarcasm, exactly as we Danes like it. It was a true pleasure meeting you and we hope to visit you all soon again. Many thanks from Gustav, Amalie, Sisse & Allan. Hope to see you soon.

We have just returned from a blissful 12 night stay at Centara Grand. We flew business class from Manchester to Doha to Male with Qatar Airways who delivered an outstanding experience from the moment we stepped into our Q-Suites. We waited for just over 2 hours for the connecting sea plane from Male to Centara which was a little tedious but only because we were excited to arrive at our destination. For those who may be a little nervous of the sea plane journey, don't be, it's great fun!

But my goodness it was worth the wait! This place really is a little piece of heaven on earth. The colour of the ocean is just breath taking and the stunning white sandy beaches are just beautiful. We were escorted by the lovely Belle to 'The Club' on arrival (we had an ultimate all inclusive club booking) where we were welcomed with a glass of chilled champagne and a delicious lunch.

Our Sunset Ocean View villa was spacious and extremely comfortable. The only tiny negatives are that the fridge is quite small and wouldn't house the bottled water and the bath was a tad grubby but this rectified immediately by housekeeping. The bed was super comfy and the bed linen was changed regularly. The room was serviced daily with regular towel changes and had a high level of cleanliness.

The restaurants offer an array of delicious & freshly cooked food; The Reef was one of our favourites as the buffet style cuisine offered a great choice to suit all palates. The Thai and Club restaurants are also superb. Whilst the Italian restaurant is also nice, the Italian food choices are somewhat limited.

The Coral and Aqua bars offer a variety of lovely cocktails. I have to say that all of the staff are a credit to the Centara Grand. They are so very friendly and work very hard with the English language to ensure that they fully understand and meet your every need. A shout out to Belle, Anas, Deepak, Max and all of the staff at The Club - thank you for your attentiveness and kindness during our stay.

The weather was absolutely perfect; we chose January for our holiday as this is one of the best dry months to visit The Maldives. The snokelling is a must. It's like swimming in a big tropical aquarium. The sea life is stunning from black tip sharks to rays and turtles, just fantastic.

We both had a 2 hour massage in the spa. I had a hot stones massage and my husband had a Maldivian massage. Wow. A must for those of you who just want a lose themselves for a couple of hours and be totally and utterly pampered from head to toe. Bliss.

The only very small comments we would make is that perhaps The Club area should be for adults only. We encountered quite a few over excited children in the pool area which is quite small and when a big pink inflatable flamingo was in the pool, there wasn't much room for anyone else to swim. We also asked for extra snacks in our room but we were told these would be chargeable - a little disappointing when you have paid all inclusive prices. But I'm being picky here, these were tiny issues that if addressed would only further enhance the truly wonderful holiday of a lifetime that we had.

So…. We arrived at the resort in the morning and although they had our reservation from a month before they told us that we have to wait 2 hours for the room to be cleaned and desinfected and that we can sit in thw lounge where there is AC and shower. They forgot to mention that we could not use the toilet because the door was locked. Miraculously the 2 hours were transformed somewhere around 30 minutes so you can imagine how disinfected the room was. As for the cleanliness, somehow I expected the floors not to be clean because it is a villa on the beach and inevitably you will enter with sand on your feet. A problem I encountered was the shower. you had only two options, burninyhot or cold. Fortunately for us there is a shower outside and we chose the cold shower “option”.
We had the all inclusive package. Well it’s not that all inclusive. In the offer that tou get online and also at your arrival it says that you get 40$ credit per person once a day at one of their 3 restaurants ( thai, italian and teppanyaki) . They forget to mention that the offer is only for adults and for kids you have to pay.
The main restaurant is barely a 3* restaurant. The food is mostly Indian, the kids menu repeats itself over and over, chicken nuggets fish nuggets and pasta. My son ate mostly bread, in the days when it wasn’t rock hard.At breakfast the same story…. as an european that doesn’t eat sausages at breakfast i barely had what to choose.
They scheduled the seaplane at 15;45 although at the arrival they said the last seaplane leaves at 15 and you have to check out at 12. After you check out every thing that you consume is chargeable.
In reality the last plane leaves around 17. But for some reason they send you off the island at 15. On the day of departure we got on the waterplane and they said that we are making one stop on to the way to the airport to pickup 3 more persons. When we got to the pickup platform it was occupied by another waterplane and we end up waiting approximately 30 minutes in the middle of the ocean. Imagine how it feels like for someone who is seasick 🤢
But there was a good part too. After reading some reviews I asked for a villa from 30-46 and it was the best thing. The villa was on the sun set part of the island and it has the best beach and no wind and incredible sun sets. We even saw baby sharks every day .

Dear Silvia P, Greetings from Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives. It is with sadness that we read that you did not experience our 5-star hospitality as mentioned by many other guests here, on TripAdvisor. Our highly praised staff is in our opinion and a large number of guests and repeating travelers, what makes Centara Grand so special. They always go the extra mile to exceed our guests’ expectations and we are surprised to read that you did not experience it. We will be sure to re-emphasis on our training to maintain our level of services. It is rather sad to us that it had to come to this, and it is never easy for us to accept that guests leave us unhappy and then more so when our brand reputation is at stake. Despite our best efforts, we sincerely hope that we will be able regain your confidence by welcoming you back to the island in the near future. We hope that all is not lost, and if we can be of further assistance for your future visit, please kindly contact us directly at cirm@chr.co.th We hope that you are keeping well and safe wherever you are now. Regards, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives Team and Management

Dear LouPeacock, thank you for your question. Our Kids Club will be complimentary for children above the age of 4 to 9 years old without requiring an adult supervision. However, for children below the age of 4, there should be at least one parent to accompany the kid, or you may hire our baby-sitting services at a cost of US$15.00++/hour at the Kids Club, and USD$20.00++/hour in the Villa. For children above 9, there will be a separate Entertainment Zone (E-zone) which is catered for the teenagers.

Dear R B, thank you for your question. Our Reef Restaurant is using tiles flooring, and top-up with sand layer. Tables and chairs are placed on hard flooring but will be covered with sand. No section of the restaurant has no sand except for the buffet counter area. As the restaurant sits by the water’s edge, we have an extension wooden dining pavilion deck for guest who prefers an outdoor dining experience. Thank you.

Dear Doug241, thank you for your question. While wearing long pants in our restaurants is recommended, however it is not mandatory. With respect to other fellow guests, our resort adheres to smart casual dress code policy while dining at the restaurants. The use of tank top (sleeveless shirt for men), swim wear, towels, wet clothes, bath robes and torn clothes are not allowed in all our dining areas. Thank you.
