Arrived in Lesotho and drove to Maliba Lodge. We booked into the river lodge and decided to take a 3 hour horse ride. It is an intense trail that requires capable riding... After the ride we went to a wonderful dinner. It is the ONLY luxury accommodation in Lesotho . The staff were friendly and helpful .

What we have picked up is that if you booked at River lodge you turn not to receive the same treatment/service from some of the staff members than if you booked at Maliba Lodge. Food is expensive (we ate breakfast only on Saturday morning and Saturday night we came for dessert - very disappointing). Loved the welcome we received on... More

The chalets were neat and clean, but starting to show signs of ageing especially the outside decking. The kitchen is sparsely equipped so don't plan on cooking anything even mildly complicated. The views are spectacular. We even had a big Eland crossing the rocky river bed right in front of our chalet. The fireplace and electric blankets and underfloor heating... More

There was not enough hot water (the geyser was too small) and the electric blanket didn't work for both beds in the upstairs room. The beds were too short. The meal at the hotel was outstanding and the service was excellent.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. The River Lodge is situated further from the Main Lodge as compared to the Mountain Lodge, which is closer. However, the view from the River Lodge is amazing. We appreciate your support and hope that we see you soon at Maliba. Regards, Maliba Lodge More

The rooms were beautiful, clean and so cozy. The sound of the gushing River was tranquil. The Kitchen area was fully equipped for self-catering. The Lounge area was spacious and the balconies were huge and had a stunning view of the river. We did the hike to Black Pool on foot, it was quite easy to get there, and the markers... More

The receptionist almost double charged us for the Riverside Lodge. He was very confused regarding the tariffs. The R165 for breakfast was excessive and we declined. Bar and other snacks also expensive.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Our pricing is comparable to similar properties in the country and we feel we provide good value given our remote location and extensive facilities. We regret that this was not your impression and offer our apologies. Regards Maliba Lodge More

This lodge is set in the midst of wonderful nature reserve. Designed for both small and big groups, the lodge offers a relaxing and tranquil experience. We enjoyed the horse ride and riverside hike. You can easily spot big elands scavenging nearby, a fun for kids. The kitchen is fully equipped and the brai stand add the value.

Great place for a retreat. Quiet, calm and with several options of activities. The surrounding scenery was gorgeous and well worth exploring. The lodges were well maintained and had everything required for a self catering break. For those that don´t want to cook, there was a nice restaurant with amazing views in the main Maliba reception building.
